It does take some hours for some transactions when the mempool gets stuck at higher SATs/byte due to more clog and the sender sent the coins with ~0 - 0.5 SATs/byte during that time. I was watching some transactions yesterday where some 0 fee transactions were not going through for hours during the mempool clog when minimum fee to get in early changed to 5 SATs/byte. -snip-
I just like to mention that the current minimum fee that a node with default relay setting is 1sat/B; the chance that a <1sat/B fee tx will propagate is close to zero.
Those "0.something/B" that you see on outdated/buggy blockexplorers like blockchain.com must have SegWit data in them that they fail to compute correctly Wink

The addresses tab used to be visible by default and that led to people being confused about why they had so many addresses. They were under the mistaken impression that one wallet = one address. So they hid that tab by default and now you have people complaining about the receive tab handing out different addresses each time!
Isn't that "fix" counter-intuitive?
Because it will eventually change after one transaction, then the newbie will think that his (single) address changed.
I think it has something to do with discouragement of "address reuse" which actually works for newbies.

@davidshu1 It's impossible to delete replace an address from the "receive tab" without receiving funds to that particular address.
But this topic looks like already solved
and the main issue must have been: after panicking from the "deleted address" ('coz it was replaced) you restored using the seed (post#5) then just waited for the client to sync to be able to display the transaction that actually went through in the first place.
We'll be glad if you can confirm this Smiley

It doesn't take 9 or 11 hours to transfer bitcoin. He's fooling you!

Another thing is, even if the coins were sent with least fee, it is acceptable that some block explorers don't show the transaction till it gets accepted into a block. But that doesn't mean that the wallet won't show up, so yeah I agree that the sender didn't send anything to OP as of yet.

@OP your "guy" hasn't sent you money yet. he's probably trying to scam you. if you're seeing a balance in the bottom left, a green or blue orb in the bottom right, you're using electrum 3.3.8 and the history tab does not reflect any incoming payments then you haven't been paid! Most likely sender didn't sent any bitcoin your provided address. If your address appearing on "Show Addresses" that you have used for received fund then you don't need to worry about it. All address there is for you forever. If in case your wallet not connected with any server you may check your balance details on Blockexplorer like blockchain. Sometimes electrum not connected to the server due to low speed internet service, I faced same problems sometimes. You should always match your address during send to other, because who know hackers might hack clipboard and change address.

Is the coloured dot in the bottom right corner of your Electrum green or red? or is it "blue arrows"?

Green?

Red?

Blue arrows?

The only reason for no transaction to show in your history is because your Electrum is not synced/connected (red dot or blue arrows)... OR the other user has not actually sent the transaction yet (or they sent to the wrong address).

and there been like 10 hours since he sayed he sent the payment
Ask the sender to give you the "TransactionID" for the transaction they supposedly sent to you... and then check that TransactionID on a blockexplorer like btc.com, blockcypher, blockstream.com blockchain.com etc etc.

It's also possible they're sending funds from an online service like an exchange or gambling website that does "delayed" transactions (ie. they have to be "approved" etc) which may be causing the delay.

If the result is true after you use the ismine(address) it means your address is in your wallet.

Did you check the addresses tab under electrum as suggested above?

you can see all address under that tab if you can't find the address you need to increase the gap limit of your Electrum wallet to show more addresses in your address tab.

Go to console tab and use this command below.

Code:
wallet.change_gap_limit(100)

I think he didnt sent the payment yet.That's it
I don't see any "unconfirmed" payments on the history
I see tx=0,balance=0 for the address I gave him
and there been like 10 hours since he sayed he sent the payment

I don't know why it's not appearing even I restored my wallet
all other items from previous days on the receive tab do appeare , butnot the address from today

Look at your addresses tab to check if the address is there, as we have said it won't be in the receiving tab as it changes with every address to improve privacy.

Look at your history, does it say you have a payment unconfirmed or any history, it'll likely be that transction.

Look for the bottom left, are there funds in the wallet?

yes-Address is on the address
history-no unconfirmed or pending only previous payed
funds-balance-is like yesterday
on the addresses tab:
column "tx" of that address line - shows "0"
column "type" of that address line - shows "receiving
column "balance" shows "0"

I got my address from the guy
the address which he sent money to me

I did what was advised here and type in console
ismine(the address)

result was
true

I searched for that address in the addresses tab and found it with this data:
type=receiving
label=nothing
balance=0
tx=0

I guess that means the payment sent but just didn't arrived yet...?

yesterday it took 11 hours...for a payment from this guy to arrive
it been 9 hours since he sent the last payment(which I accidently deleted from received tab

I didn't get any notification yet-I will wait several hours-usually that takes severl hours for the notification to appear

If after several hours I still won't get the pay I will ask help again

I think that's best to check as soon as possible you have the recipient address in your wallet.
If the transaction gets confirmed and you don't have that address, the money is lost for good.

PS. An alternate way to find an address can be to filter (View->Show addresses, go to addresses tab, CTRL+F then type the address you are looking for; make sure you do CTRL-F again when you are done)

Read my reply from your other thread which you needn't have created. You will need to access Electrum Console as I described there.

Access Electrum Console ('View -> Show Console') and enter 'ismine("address")' where address is your BTC address which you claim that is missing. If the console returns true then you have nothing to worry about.

https://bit.ly/387FXHi lightning theory
What does the status bar in the bottom left say? Does it show you have funds in your wallet?

The receive address changed automatically whenever you receive funds, it'll probably say something like (0.000000 btc [0.0001 btc unconfirmed]) or something similar if the funds are in transit to you. It takes a few minutes for the payment to confirm.

I gave an address to pay , guy sent me btc and I accidentely delete this address of the receive tab

Don't worry, you should get the coins he sent you. The address you see in the Receive tab changes every time you use it (meaning someone sends coins to it). You can still use it as many times as you want. The incoming transaction should be visible in the History tab.

You can see your previous and some extra addresses if you enable Addresses tab. Select 'View -> Show Addresses' to enable it.

Did you make a copy of your seed phrase?
This should be 12 random words when you created your wallet?

DO NOT POST YOUR 12 WORDS ANYWHERE ( PEOPLE WILL STEAL YOUR WALLET)

You should be able to recover the wallet with the 12 seed words.

Just make sure and take a back up copy of your wallet file before you do anything!

Once you are 100% sure you have a safe back up of the wallet file you should then try recover from the seed

Open the program, File -> new/restore -> enter in your seed when asked.

This should restore the wallet to it's original state and show the addresses.
