Wow, a lot of accounts got hacked!  You can add me to that list too.  My original account (axel2078) got hacked in October of this year. (...)  What really bothers me is that they are STILL posting as me, while enjoying my Full Member status and pumping their signature campaign.

Welcome to the club. Your account was hacked because of your rank which means it is profitable on a second market were accounts are traded and even auctioned by the hackers itself. Spammers, Scammers and Cheaters buys them for farming purposes then they resell it again over and over. You'll be surprised how lucrative + easy money this is on 3rd world countries (just search on telegram "account selling bitcointalk"). Admins know about it but they don't care, many viable proposals and solutions have been discussed already on the forums however no one is willing to work / act uppon it.

Wow, a lot of accounts got hacked!  You can add me to that list too.  My original account (axel2078) got hacked in October of this year.  Unfortunately, I was using a simple password and hadn't changed my password in a while and someone managed to crack it and immediately removed my password recovery email address.  Now, that person continues to post as me like nothing ever happened.  Very aggravating.  This was my original post about it:  https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.46890037

I PM'ed the mods per the instructions I was given, but haven't heard back yet.  I know they are busy, but I'm hopeful that I'll eventually get my account back.  You know, it wouldn't bother me so much if someone had cracked my password and then somehow deleted the account altogether.  What really bothers me is that they are STILL posting as me, while enjoying my Full Member status and pumping their signature campaign.

Sorry my bad, I don't understand how could I made that mistake. However I already fixed that, the user KWH already left red trust on s1ng also it is inactive since June 16, 2018.

Keep this thread alive by posting updates regularly and let us know if there is anything else we can help you with.

No updates so far? I also feel the urge to recover my hacked one as well. So let ask Cyrus & Theymos to notice it once for all..

Meanwhile I'm concerned about your compromised Legendary Member stingleword with +20 trust ! spamming and scamming people:

Lets start a Let's start a red trust campaign, shall we?
I just leave feedback your hacked account (however not sure if my current rank makes any difference) once you manage to recover your account you'll have to sign another message to confirm it, so I can remove my red trust.
Hope others will follow this.

Hi, I think you're misunderstanding, my account not stingleword, so please read again on my OP

I don't know, that way they will have just more messages in their inbox. I don't like "spamming". This forum has a huge userbase, so i consider they are doing a serious job and try to solve everyone's issues. 6 months went by already, that is a lot. I don't know why i can't even get a small reply Sad

I know the template says you should add your mail too, but i wouldn't put it here publicly. I sent a correct message in PM and a public one here, because i don't want my email to be spammed. But if you are okay with it then leave it as it is Smiley

I'm sorry to bump this thread periodically
Just wait for admin's respond

Some other guy called Vadi was also hacked the same way as you. He found out that the person used MITM in the modem/router (Man in the middle attack) but his account was recovered quickly. I think yours will be recovered quickly too.

Judging by these two hacked accounts a few steps needed to improve your security after you recover your account are as below

1. Change your Modem/Router to a CISCO one
2. After that format your PC and start using an email which offers 2FA like Gmail, set 2FA up in a freshly formatted PC.

Damn, I'm noob for network knowledge
Anyway thanks

Since nobody else seems to be doing anything, i gave a neutral tag to the account referencing this thread... However, since i'm not in DT, i doubt many people will read my warning.
OP: if you ever recover your account, please PM me to remove my tag.

Thanks sir, for caring, very appreciate it !

For what it's worth, the signed message checks out. I've checked out the staked address to, and it was staked in 2014 (which is certainly good enough).
Have you followed the steps in this stickie'ed post? : https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/recovering-hacked-accounts-or-accounts-with-lost-passwords-497545

In the meantime, you can always try to send the same information to one or two people in default trust and ask them pollitely to give a red tag to the hacked account to warn everybody not to deal with the hacked account untill it's recovered.

Thanks for the info , sir

Maybe this can help you,
first you can ask for help from the bitcointalk admin
by sending an email to them and telling the truth that has happened.
