I have an account in cryptopia as well but I have not experienced this yet. This kind of post give me doubts about my money on the exchanges. I don't wanna to take it out because it is already just waiting for a good price to trade then withdraw out btc. But if this happens to me, I will lose a lot.

Same thing here. Account locked. And what do you mean by support tickets? You can't fill out a support ticket unless you are logged in. Only could send an email. I guess I only had a little bit of money in there but a friend of mine had a lot of money and is currently locked out as well. My account, however, did get hacked. I found out and recovered my stuff and updated everything but they turned around and locked it anyways? 3 days later? Okay. I'm not too upset though since BTC is very low and it took most of the market with it. Hopefully I get access back in time to play some more.

After all, it can be an expensive game and I'd like to play this game.

I don't see how it can useful to them to lock accounts randomly. Unless a user is abusing their system they don't have any reason. I tried after reading this thread and my account is fine.
I advise you to contact them here or on Twitter, it may be a bug or something like this

DO - Expect a delay in us replying to your ticket, at the moment the wait time is around 20 days.

That’s an unacceptably long wait. 20 days to respond to a ticket? This explains why there is so much doubt, uncertainty and skepticism about bitcoin as a digital asset. The wider public is afraid of the exchanges, traders, tools and whatnot which drive this technology. They advertise the ideal world of things, a perfect service, but the reality is the complete opposite.

Exchanges used to have my trust but I’m now wary and cautious. Paranoid even. Impressive websites no longer impress me. Thieves can build them overnight.

Store your assets in your own bank. That bank is a private key you and you alone know and control. You won’t have to wait 20 days to access your coins. Total peace of mind.

I don't beleive that services close accounts for no reason. There is always a reason that is according to some of their rules, the question is only if users read the terms of service at all, are they acceptable for them and what did they do to violate them.
However, I don't approve poor customer support so they should be more agile and user friendly in providing clarifications.

I tried to login to my account, however it showed my account is being locked, since I failed to login for 3 times. But seriously I only tried once and my account and password was saved automatically by the browser. I did some research on Cryptopia account lock, it turns out that many users are experiencing the same issue, and none of them got a reply from Cryptopia's response. Some of then have been waiting for a month.
Anyone here has the same problems? or any idea what can we do to protect our asset?

Firstly, you should have never stored more than 10% of your portfolio on cryptopia or any other exchange. That way if an exchange goes down you would still be able to retain most of your cryptos since you store them on your wallet locally.

But since now that your account has gotten locked, there isn't much you can do to protect your assets anymore.

Just gonna have to wait for the response and hopefully, they do respond to you.

I'm seeing a ton of cryptopia problems recently and it seems like your case isn't isolated. I'd say that either there is a hacker that is trying to brute force every single person's account and making them all locked as a result, or cryptopia is doing something shady here. Both options are equally likely.

Did it notify after clicking the log in button? Locking the account is one way of an exchange to protect your funds from hackers, there's a chance that someone tried to access your account. Only them could help you to gain access, however, an answer from their support will be taking much longer than usual
