Nope, its not quoted.
You can simply archive the post and then it won't matter if the hacker deletes the post or not. archive.is is a useful tool for archiving. Alternatively, there is archive.org.

Once you do that, it would be wise to post the link to the archive here and then sign a message declaring your ownership.

That's not going to help him if the private key has been comprommised though is it?

Why would you not want it banned? Either way you're still going to have to wait for an admin to have it restored but at least he can't use it in the meantime.

Because of the stupid way I lost it, he got access to my account via account recoveries when he got access to my private key. I dont know if its this guy though or the account was sold to its current user..

Under that condition, do you have 2 (or more) staked addresses you can sign in order to prove ownership?

And you may as well ask for hilarious to go through and ban your account for you until theymos is able to recover it.

Nope, I dont have a second bitcoin address staked from what I remember, will look into it.. I have an ethereum address though, I also can provide an id if necessary because I was using my first name as a username.

You will probably have to sign both addresses now however. You probably won't now get your account back if your private key has been compromised though as the admins are quite busy to start going through and checking who has signed the most staked private keys...
Best option is still to get hilariousandco to lock it. Then try after that with the admins.

I also have my twitter account link in one of my posts.. I can prove I own that also.
It might help you in combination with your address and signature if it has been posted using the account and not edited but, I doubt it and it isn't something which is outlined within the account recovery thread. I would leave it out, and include a little note at the bottom that you could include it if they request it.

ID isn't going to help the situation. Especially the if an account so happens to be a first name too as these accounts could easily be targeted by people who have a first name the same as a user name.

My account was hacked though and is actively used by the hacker.. and the guy hasnt yet removed the staked address. I dont want to risk the possibility of him finding out and deleting the post. I could send you a pm with the signed message so it can be verified.
Was the post in which you staked your address quoted? It’s unlikely that the attacker would be able to delete the quoted message as well.

Nope, its not quoted.

Yes, the workload in recovering accounts should be delegated but until it is there's not much else that can be done. You should post the message here so it can at least be verified. If you don't have valid proof then it  will likely just be ignored.

If you PM me it I can ban the account if it checks out but you'll still have to wait for it to be restored.

Lets not do that.

If at all accounts are restored, there could be a dedicated thread for it. Admins could deal with it on a FIFO basis. Right now, most people seem to wait indefinitely for account recovery.

Do you mean moderators by admins in the second part? Mods have the power to delete and exit posts and ban users. They are NOT able to recover accounts!

Theymos and Cyrus are the only admins with that power. And, IMO, it'd be pretty stupid to give mods that power - I reckon some on local boards may not be so trustworthy if given full access to every user account?

I mean, I have no issue with someone like hilariousandco or mprep or someone like that doing some of the work, however, Cyrus has his part in recovering accounts anyway.

To confirm, you sent a signed message signed with an email not related to an alt and the date and also signed it from a staked address that you linked to in the SAME PM?

I have done everything that needed to be done, now im just waiting.. I know it is stupid to give the power to some people that arent trustworthy, but there is a need for more people into this cause two guys alone cannot deal with every account recovery in the forum. And so they dont. They dont even reply to moderators about account recoveries.. so why offer this possibility anyways?

I think hilariousandco can unlock accounts which have been inactive and were locked through the automatic system put in place. But, I don't see why we couldn't extend this and allow him to recover accounts completely if he were willing to do so.

cyrus seems the most active at least publicly in recovering the accounts. But, I guess each case takes a lot of investigation work and isn't just as simple as signing a message and verifying it.

I have been trying to contact @cyrus and @theymos about an account recovery for almost 2 months.. No reply whatsoever. I know that they are bombarded every day with requests like mine, and it would be impossible to fill them all, but why should it be only them that do the dirty work? Why not involve more admins into this so that we can have our requests filled faster? I have contacted many admins, and they all have this to say: "We cannot do anything, contact @cyrus or @theymos.". Obviously contacting them makes no difference at all cause they have given up on account recoveries or something, so there is no hope other than spam them every 10 minutes until they see it, and by the time they do it you have already given up cause 2 years have passed..
