Apparently once banned you cannot unban. Easiest way is to create a new account.
I got banned for forgetting my password. Or at least i thought that was it. I tried emailing the address they said to contact but never got a response. At least some sort of email explaining the ban would have been nice. But then again this is not a corporation's forum.

I actually looked through that thread as well. It's chock full of random bullshit that they're spewing. The bitcoin discussion thread was actually never about bitcoin. Even on the first page, it's just nonsense. And given the posting times between the users, I'm willing to say that this is how accounts are being farmed.

One of the main reason why account is being banned is because of the indolence of the owners. This is a forum where ideas and opinionsbare being exchanged. We have to right and say our own idea and not copy it from the internet. As fat as I know, it is mentioned in the Beginners and Help thread and as a Newbie, they must read first the topics in this section for them to know the basic things in this forum or for being a member of this forum.
