I just installed Bitcoin core .11.1 over my .10.2.  It's starting up and displaying the message "Activation best chain".  I have never seen a message like that.  What, exactly, does it mean?
Thanks,
Sam
It means "Don't worry - you're not waiting all this time to get anything, but the best chain" Smiley

So this version is using the standard block chain and NOT the XT blocks, right?

I don't think there's any difference between "standard block chain" and "XT blocks" right now.  It's the same chain.

That is a normal message. It is just checking its blocks to find the longest blockchain and its chain tip. Just wait and it will finish.

OK, it's a new "normal" message.  So this version is using the standard block chain and NOT the XT blocks, right?

Edit: thanks for the reply.

Yes, its just a new message not a new behaviour

Sounds good.
