OP, let me ask in return what is the purpose or contribution of a thread opener who doesn't care to reply or interact in his own thread even after more than 50 replies of other users?

Close the thread if you don't care to reply and rethink your doing!
Because he want to get merited by people who're supporting anti signature campaign in this forum, but sadly those people aren't aware with his thread.

However you can't hope @OP will comeback and reply to users' post in this thread because he's already get banned due to plagiarism lol

Not everyone may accept mixer, betting or casino due to personal interest, but pretty sure everyone can't accept someone behavior who's copy pasting other people words Cheesy

The promotion of mixers, gambling or casinos does not obstruct anyhow the discussion about Bitcoin, technology or crypto at large. Obviously, OP is too new on the forum and makes allegations without any sense. If OP wants to participate to any technical discussion he is always free to do it, no matter if the other participants wear any signature or not. How can the presence of a signature obstruct a discussion? I really don't get that.
I have a feeling he felt that there are too many threads/replies that are unnecessarily made because of signature campaigns and just ranted because of it.

This is definitely true (as signature campaign makes some people to be more active) but when you think about it, the more we participate in discussion (topic and replies) the more knowledge is been passed on and gained from one user to another). The topics and replies is the reason the forum is active and when it becomes spammy, we can do the needful thing and report the posts when we come across them. The forum will be borrowing if all we do is just get the exact information we needed (just like when googling) the fun of the community come from the replies coming in different forms.

From their replies a new discussion can come up (just like when we see topics been started based on replies from other topics). Sometimes I wonder what people want us to be discussing when there isn't much happening. The most recent Bitcoin development are in relation to politics (as there isn't much going on especially as we're in a bear market period and activities are on the minimum levels this period). When more things to be discussed comes up we'll start discussing them but that doesn't mean we have to keep the forum silent for the time being (although it doesn't justify the spamming as well).

Furthermore, and I don't know if anyone else observed this, OP just started this thread and never came back with any reply. It seems simply ridiculous to initiate a discussion thread, complaining about how to discuss and then never make any post inside your own thread. I guess it's common sense to debate inside the topic you started, since it was your interest to start it but OP is probably lacking this common sense.
I noticed that when I made my first post in this thread but it was just the second day since the OP created the thread so I didn't think much of it. anyway, even if OP wanted to reply now he won't be able to since he got banned from plagiarising content multiple times.

Sinbad Mixer: Mix Your BTC Quickly
Just joined BitcoinTalk forum and I must say, I'm quite surprised to see that it has turned into a place where 50% of the forum active members are promoting Bitcoin mixers, betting or casinos. Was hoping for more discussions on the technology and its possibilities.
If you search enough about 'the more discussion on the technology of Bitcoin' as you asked, you'll find plenty of topics about it. You can basically find anything you want here and even if you don't find what you're looking for, feel free to open a topic and engage in some discussions that you want to talk about. Many members here have a huge knowledge about Bitcoin and related topics so they'll surely help you if you don't understand anything.

This is the best Bitcoin forum on the internet, and in my opinion it will remain the best forever! Smiley)

I have not seen anything wrong promoting mixer and other casino, if you have a cogent point while people should not promote mixer you have to portray to the hearing of the public, so I believe that you have make a research well and make your findings to be more active before you can make a point. I will like you to concentrate on your account and make more observations of the forum and make sure your innovation is been known and also get emulated by some other forum members. So discussing such kind of issues of promoting mixer site you have to get more positive and negative informations about mixer so that you can defend yourself base on your point of view

OP really do not understand how the forum works though. I see OP is a newbie and would definitely ask such questions to clear his doubt. If there are no options of such nature in here how does the forum want to grow, how does they casino, mixers, exchanges etc want to gain recognition. Since OP is new he does not know  how the system works but however, what you have said to OP is just the best option for OP to follow and if OP is reasonable enough to follow up, I think OP could go a long way on this platform.

Signature ads and the topics discussed here are different. If other companies whose target audience is those who are interested in Bitcoin organize a signature campaign here, you will see them more. They are advertising because mixers, casinos and betting sites are in vogue right now. Advertising them isn't an obstacle to talk about Bitcoin and the possibilities it brings. There are other companies in signatures as well, for example mine. You should check it out sometime. Anyway OP is banned and is not with us anymore.

There's nothing wrong with the promotions here in the forum. It doesn't cause problem with the discussions as the signature space is different from the post space. If you don't like it then I think the forum is not for you and I this is not the only forum to discuss crypto but if you still want to be here then visit the board where no signatures are shown or you can follow the suggestions from other forum members like to change the settings of your account to never display the avatar and signatures. Signature space is not used for promotions alone where some it us used to promote a charity if there's any.

You know get to see users talking about there projects other than within the projects thread as, doing so would constitute an off topic response which is liable to being deleted on detection or should it have been reported. Some guides the gorum install to ensure the discussions here go on as should be.

The signatures has no role in hampering that which makes it all good.

There is a board specifically for technological discussion and expect majority of forum users wearing a signature that promotes a certain campaign or venture in this forum.

I am curious, however, why are you against about people wearing signatures? Have they intentionally harmed or offended you in some manner? Remember that this forum promotes advertisements in the form of signature campaigns in order to at least earn extra BTCs.

There are many great and smart users who have created various discussion about innovative approaches while promoting their desired campaign. I see nothing wrong with this approach, OP.

As for me op knew the forum before now and it is not a newbie as he claims to be. How did he know the 50% of users? The bitcoin blockchain technology is wide range technology that can be accessed at all corners in the world. All what is needed is strong internet network.

I don't think there is a problem with promoting any campaign on the forums as so far the admins have not disallowed signature campaigns. Regardless of the project they are promoting, this is the forum's way of rewarding its contributors. But I think you have made the wrong conclusion, especially in terms of the percentage of users using casino signatures and mixers. Number of active users right now (as I write) is 52,407 based on bpip, but I believe less than 1000 users are using casino signature and mixer.

The discussion about bitcoin and others continues as usual, it certainly won't diminish one another because the interests of each poster are different. You don't have to worry about who and how many users are promoting the casino or mixer, but if you find them posting something that makes no sense or is spamming, then report it to a moderator.

Are you some  kind of journalist or research who have heard about Bitcointalk forum being the top 10 Bitcoin forums on the internet and you signed up hoping that you'd have an article written about the forum? Well if you are I believe you now have something to write about.

Regarding your question, yes we promote Bitcoin Mixers and betting and casinos. We don't just promote them but we talk about the good ones and the terrible ones to avoid. We talk about fighting gambling addiction, share betting tips etc And in case you don't know we do all of these under the purview of Bitcoin. Bitcoin and its technicalities and possibilities are also in the conversation. We cannot make a sentence or two without including Bitcoin.

Nice one OP, but I think you would have known by now that it's pretty simple and it very easy for you to actually search, no I think you can pick the board in which the discussion actually suits you because it's boldly written when you visit the home page of the forum. They different board in which the technical discussion of bitcoin are actually discussed and I doubt you would have anything to offer there but although the forum is vast and fill with a lot folks that are always willing to teach and guide you on things you don't know so I think you will be covered that's if you are willing to learn.

You have 130 posts already where are you looking at or have you just overlooked some boards because you are limited to the section where you are posting, you should not be surprised at all companies incentivize members to promote their projects in forums using their signatures this is one of the forum's features, seems like this is the first time you encounter this, if you think you cannot find what you're looking you are free to look elsewhere, your activity is not our loss.
Companies are free to promote here it just so happens that mixers betting or casinos are more active in marketing their platform.

Yes indeed. because many members are indirectly part of the campaigns platforms. But usually, they are legit platforms, so it's not a problem to provide space for these platforms. This is also a reciprocal that is quite profitable for the members and also the project. As long as it's not a scam project, I don't think it's a problem either.

Was hoping for more discussions on the technology and its possibilities.
Btw, even though these members like myself also promote a particular project, it doesn't mean we promote it directly in all the posts we make. Try to see in more detail. We only promote them through our signature banner and also our avatar which is indirectly visible when we post on this forum. so that's the promotion, not directly promoting them through posts every time.
We usually discuss or post various kinds of information related to Bitcoin, altcoins, crypto in general, economics, politics and various other topics. This will depend on what boards you visit.
Or maybe you visit gambling and service boards so you only find discussions related to those projects. Try to understand more deeply and expand the search again

OP you should not be surprised now but rather you should get used to it. Irrespective of the signature one is putting on, that does not define who dey are. They are only doing their advertisement job for which they were hired for.  Every one member here has his other own space for promotion which they can advertise and lease out to interested parties prior to approval.

In as much as one is wearing a casino signature that does not mean one is a gambler. That does not define them to be so but a brand which they choose to wear for everyone to see and patronize their services. That is what signature is all about. So I will advise you change your perspective and mindset about it and be positive.

I sense you are seeing just the signatures of the forum members and not the discussion going around here because if it was the case you might be aware that all rhe the main discussions are carried out on regular base through different boards across the forum.Like we have technical board, mining board and  ither tech stuff you are interested about but only if you look for them.

Now speaking about mixers and casinos then they are also crypto related and you can use their services like coin mixing to enhance your privacy so is there anything wrong with it? For casinos there is lot of gambling community here so they are discussing to their restricted board not on general board but you don't seem to understand about it.

So? Welcome to the forum. Tongue

There's no direct connection between the things that we are promoting to the discussions that is related to technology like you said. Anybody here can wear the signature that they wanted to wear. Anybody can promote the "technology" that you are saying if they wanted too. It's just that, most of us are promoting various things because of the fact that we can earn from it.

One thing also is that, those technical guys here can just go to Technical Discussion, and interact with different users there. I mean I don't see any connection in what the OP is saying LOL. Maybe he wants that users here will promote more about the technology that he is saying. It's either the OP is a newcomer, or just a mere troll here. Lock the thread, and have a good life. Smiley

You talk of the technical aspect of bitcoin and I put it to you that there is no bitcoin related forum that discuss about that aspect like Bitcointalk.org. There are many that have gained more technical knowledge of bitcoin from this forum and I can say I am one of them. Sometimes this things are not free outside but tech savvy guys here give us the knowledge for free.

If you’re here for technical aspect then go straight to the appropriate boards and stop spreading negativity. Moreover I checked your post history and you haven’t even engage in there before so what’s the fuzz about
I think Op is just trying to earn so merit for himself but this technique of Merit hunting is really not it. I think you should be more focused on learning what you can here and stop trying to criticize the promotion of Mixers and gambling casinos because its not against the forum rules, i hope you don’t end up promoting these services you criticized in the future when you move up the ranks. The forum provided these boards because it supports these services and alot of people here use these services. The forum is wide and alot of services are carried out here that’s why it is seperated into several boards.

People came here to use the services, so what can you expect? Just merely wearing a signature does not mean promoting for me. As long as mixers are there to exist and gambling sites to operate, I think there should be no problem with that.

Let us not forget that these mixers and gambling companies are one of the reasons why there are lots of active members in the forum. Let's be realistic here, take them out, and there will only be a few signature campaigns, which will, of course, result in a declining number of active members.

You claimed to have just joined and yet clutching your pearls in feigned surprise at how the forum HAS turned into a place where some active members also decide to promote mixers and casinos that btw utilizes bitcoin. How would you have any idea of what the forum was like if you’re just joining?

I don’t know what you’re really looking for. Cause there literally is a dedicated board where only tech stuff is discussed. If you’ve actually visited that board, this thread won’t be open.
If you truly want to engage in discussions about bitcoin technology and it’s possibilities, then what’s on members signatures spaces won’t really matter. Unless of course, you don’t want to learn anything and just want to wail.

It's actually added in the profile attribute, not included in their post content. If you are bothered by that display, I suggest you change some settings (I don't know if these settings are available for low rank users):
Go to Look and Layout Preferences > enable "Don't show users' avatars." and "Don't show users' signatures."

Problem solved.

Good suggestion!

In addition, OP, if you are kind of annoyed with all the discussions about anything else outside the Bitcoin technology, then don't go to sections and boards where topics such as basketball or boxing or bounties or trading or even politics are discussed.

If this isn't enough, then, like noorman0, I suggest that you try changing some settings yourself. Manually ignore the boards you don't wish to explore. I'm also not sure if this is available to newbies, but try to go to your profile, proceed to Modify Profile, and click on Ignore Boards Preferences. You can even ignore all of them except Development & Technical Discussion, Mining, Bitcoin Technical Support, and Project Development.

This forum will be a paradise this way. No signatures shown, no avatars, no discussions outside the Bitcoin technology.

Is like you don't know that everything here has section where you can write about anything you feel like. For the fact that people are promoting casinos, mixers and whatsoever does not means that they are doing the wrong thing or what you don't expect. This is a community and you are allowed to join and promote any project that you want as far as it's not a scam. I don't know whether you are trying to criticize the senior active accounts here in the forum that are promoting whatsoever project they like or not but the way you expressed yourself looks somehow derogatory.

Yes, this forum is one of the media for promoting new projects, not only related to the project but also various new altcoins projects covering several fields. But in my opinion, there is nothing strange about this, especially mixers projects, casinos, games, and several of these platforms are legit and not cams at all, so this is not a problem. What is a problem is promoting projects or platforms that are scams or potential scams. What's more, sometimes promotions from these platforms are not directly related to the platform, but discuss cryptocurrency as a whole, while they promote it through signature banners and avatars. Nothing strange about this, right?

Are those platforms you mentioned related to Bitcoin, are the platform making use of Bitcoin? Yes they're so I don't see any problem with them advertising on the forum. The number of participants is more than 50% but there's nothing wrong in that because the services that they're advertising isn't a scam and users aren't been forced to use the platforms (mixers or casino). The advertisement aren't tied to bitcointalk (like bitcointalk doesn't endorse the signature campaign so they have nothing to do with the forum, they're just advertisment and since they're causing no harm, we shouldn't be concerned). We have many discussion on Bitcoin and the signature campaign aren't reducing topics engagement but rather increasing topic engagement.

We still have other services advertising on the forum like exchanges and we also had wallets advertising at some point so everything is been covered. We have more of mixers and casinos because they found out that they have a market on the forum. And there isn't much advertisement platforms that'll welcome them especially mixers. Exchange and wallets won't get enough support because they're centralized and the forum ideology doesn't welcome centralized exchanges or wallets but the forum has nothing against casino been centralized since the decentralized ones can't be trusted. Provided active members aren't promoting scam they have committed no offense.

Those forum members promoting mixers and casinos have contributed a lot to the forum in various boards of their interest positively. That's why you see that they could get to that rank whereby, you are free to put on any avatar and signature of their choice. Bitcoin mixer is still about bitcoin and the casinos uses cryptocurrency in their gambling site. So you can see that we are still on the same page with the forum purpose. I can see nothing wrong with that and these Bitcoin mixers, gambling websites, casinos, etc. which are being promoted here in the forum are trusted since they have a reputation here in the forum so you don't need to worry about that, I mean scam gambling websites and mixers are not allowed here and being tag here in the forum. If you look a closer look at the running signature campaigns here in the forum you could notice that most of them are gambling websites and mixers, I can see nothing wrong with that I mean most of the discussions or threads here include something like betting so there are going to be involvements on this kind of websites.

I mean this is still a forum, and there is probably the best Bitcoin or cryptocurrency forum where you could join in order to learn and get a lot of knowledge about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency that's for sure, I wouldn't mind seeing this advertisements or signature, as long as I learn a lot of information and gain a lot of knowledge here in the forum. Besides signature can also be part-time since they pay you as well for promoting so your learning and earning at the same time.

Does any of these changes the standard or the forum's reputation, moderation or it's main purpose of creation? have you reason the numbers of those participating in one of those campaigns and the numbers of users not in any form of promotional signature campaign.

So what exactly brought you here if i may ask, is it to join others in such promotion or to face what you are really here for which should be nothing other than bitcoin discussions.

Back in 2017, OP would complaint about ICOs. In five years, he will complaint about what raises more interest among criptocurrency users. Typical black or white mentality.

People see only what they want to see. In the case of our new friend, it seems that he prefers to focus on the fact that there are some campaigns running in the forum, rather than in the fact that there is no better place (at least I don't know any) to discuss about Bitcoin's technical development or simply economical implications of the criptocurrency.

In addition, here scammers are rapidly flagged, so this is one of the few safe environments in the Internet for newbies to talk about Bitcoin or cryptos. Please, prove me wrong otherwise.

Well, you can ignore those boards if you don't like them. You can ignore the entire economy section, so you don't see gambling or mixer-related threads. If you are a Bitcoin geek and interested only in technical things, your future is bright, mate. Consider exploring Development & Technical Discussion and Bitcoin Technical Support board. You might find those boards interesting.

To be honest, I have tried to be active on those boards. But due to my limited knowledge of technology, I could not participate much there. Sometimes I do not understand what they are talking about.

I am surprised that you went through the forum and the only thing that got your attention is advertisements. This is a sign that you are not here to learn but to find fault and criticize. If you search the boards and sections of the forum you will find many interesting posts that can expand your frontier of crypto knowledge. If you want to access current and valid information about Bitcoin and others, this forum is one of the best in the world. I will suggest you forsake your current mentality and open your mind to learning. You also have the privileges of starting discussions on the area you find interesting and I am sure you will get the needed response. I don't also think that there is anything wrong with advertising mixers, casinos, exchanges, and other services because they are not illegal services.

We have another expert who joined forum few days ago and he already knows how advertisement in forum works.  Roll Eyes
Don't forget to send official complain to youtube, google and all other platforms for promoting bunch of crap all the time that have nothing to do with content or videos you are watching.
Almost everything in bitcointalk forum is related with bitcoin, so it's only natural to see crypto companies promoting here, and some of them are doing it for years.

What's wrong in promoting Bitcoin mixers, betting or casino? Does it reduce my person or the quality of my post? Wearing a signature is a way of promoting and creating exposure of the brand one is putting on, so it does affect the person or his posts in anyway. They forum is a very large place and people post on different boards they think they can make contributions or comfortable in. If you are here to learn about technology, you can ask forum members for assistance and guidance in the areas you need help and not to be complaining about signatures.

Is there a signature campaign promoting something other than mixers, casinos, altcoins that seems useful? If it is, and even if the return from it is low, I expect that more people will try to join it, but gambling campaigns, mixers, and casinos almost represent about 90% of the active campaigns that pay in bitcoins, and you rarely find different campaigns, but the campaigns do not force users to do a specific thing, for example Do not force them to promote their services within the posts or modify the style of participation in line with the campaign.

The problem with you is not you're looking around and you judged us and this forum, we have a lot of discussions about technology and everything that evolves around Cryptocurrency, instead you targeted the promoters and what they promote we don't see anything wrong with that we are not promoting scam platforms, and its the choice of visitors if they want to join and use the projects that we're promoting in our signature.

The forum is still the best place to find anything and everything about Cryptocurrency, you have an issue if you fail and miss seeing this, you're not looking at the forum in the right way.

What do you mean by promoting them. Because we are not convincing your or saying you anything to join us in our posts. We just wear signature and avatar just to advertise them. Nobody could ask you to say join us join us until you have asked by yourself. For example, now you created this topic, you will not find a single person say hey join our gambling site we will make your money double or any other service.

Instead you will find many ranked, respected members of this platform will provide there useful insight in there posts from which you can get benefit. If you don't like the answer or didn't understand it you could show your feelings and then can learn from their replies. I hope you got my point.

Why are you surprised?

Mixers and the gambling or casinos they promote have nothing to do with the knowledge they share here in the forum; this forum's users have an interest in helping one another and are always happy to render assistance relating to both real-life scenarios and Technical aspects of Bitcoin and general cryptocurrency.

This forum has different sections; if you want to learn about technical topics in this forum, go to Development & Technical Discussion and see the related discussions relating to technical.

I am confident that this forum is one of the best places to learn about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency for free; therefore, if you truly want to learn, stop making references to the Mixers and casinos that forum members promote; the main goal is to learn, and I am confident that if you drop your question, you will be answered immediately.

Welcome to the forum. You are Four days old here.
My first question to you is, what do you want to learn? If you are talking about Bitcoins technology and it's possibilities then you my friend have failed to go through the Bitcoin development and technical discussion board, you have also failed to look at the mining, technical support and project development board. Until you have done that which I think you haven't, you cannot conclude that discussion around Bitcoin technology isn't discussed here.

Its because there are no other open signature campaign. You think they promote something for free? Surely that they want to lurk around here with a privilege of being compensated on their contributions at least.

As long as a project even its an altcoin or new project or new website offering new tech or innovation as long as they willing to pay a forum users. Any active member would likely to join that. Or course except those scam one or might be a scam one.

So, what? You pose a false dichotomy. As you've been told, if you want technical discussions, go to the technical boards and you'll get plenty of interesting discussions no matter the signatures. It is precisely the signatures that pay well, the ones that pay the best, that encourage quality content to be written. So don't complain so much, go for the technical boards and enjoy.

50%, is it too high?

Majority of active signature campaigns in bitcointalk are from Bitcoin mixers, gambling sites and cryptocurrency exchanges but I am unsure that your information is true. 50% of active forum member are promoting them, maybe it is your feeling and you did not get it from any data scrapers.

Is there something wrong with that? Do you find a law or restriction prohibit someone to promote the services you mentioned? Since anyone is free to promote whatever they want. If worried to experience financial loss on those promotion then do your own diligence to research on what you are seeing and ignore if you don't like the services you see in this forum. There are proper threads to see what technologies like so better go there and you can get a proper discussion about things you like.

I'd bet that you'll do the same when you can able to join the signature campaign and wear the signature banner.

You're free here whatever you wanted to do as long as you're following the forum rules.
Wearing a signature whether you're promoting a mixer or a gambling company doesn't mean you can't join a healthy discussion besides, they aren't spamming the company that they promote.

So wait for it that you can wear and get paid from signature and how does it feel?

Does a signature of any kind affect the kind of thing that I am to discuss on the forum? NO. My signature space is a hat on my head; the cap does not tell me what kind of discussion to enter. Those who have technical knowledge are active on those technical boards irrespective of what campaign signature they are wearing; they will still be active on their favorite board. Wearing a mixer signature code doesn't mean I will have to be discussing mixer in the entire forum. A signature campaign is different from a shilling campaign, where all your job is to promote whatever project you choose in whatever way you can.

Op, I believe you have a wrong idea of how the signature campaign of a thing works. You can just go over to the technical board and gain any kind of technical knowledge that you need; the boards are always open.

There is plenty of discussion on the technology and its possibilities as well. It depends on the boards you visit. Mixers and gambling are discussed mainly in the Services sections, while the rest of the forum covers many other topics. Also, just because someone promotes mixers or gambling does not mean that is all they are interested in.

So, do you have an interesting topic or question that you want to discuss? Find a suitable board and open a topic. I am sure many forum members will join you there.

Currently, the mixing and gambling industries have the largest turnover of money. New projects either do not have enough initial (real) capital for promotion here on the forum or they even think that it is not important to present them here. Compared to some earlier days when Bitcointalk was the starting point for all crypto businesses, now there are a lot of other platforms and in combination with social networks, they have reduced the influence of the forum.
Nevertheless, the most precise information can still be obtained here, especially if we are talking about the technical side. Finally, does anyone expect a direct discussion in the advertising space?

Nothing wrong with promoting businesses in the cryptocurrency space. If anything it drives more people to be involved in this industry even. Plus, 90% of the active members here who wears signatures like me and are promoting businesses provide relevant help and answers that are informed, so it's not like no one's getting anything good from this. And to top it all off moderators in this forum offer all-day surveillance to staunch shitposters so the whole site's clear from them. I don't see any problem about promoting a business, and getting paid at the same time while helping people get valuable information or advice with whatever crypto-related issue they are having. A user has a mixer or gambling in their signature space does not automatically mean that all their posts have to be related to that signature space.

If you were observant enough to note the way users post and what each boards are used for then you won’t have created this thread of yours. We have bitcoin discussion board which is for all topics related to the general aspect of bitcoin or any thing concerning bitcoin but if you’re interested in knowing how bitcoin works then you should locate the technical boards. While for gambling discussions it has its own board and sub-board for that. So I don’t see how the signature an user has on will affect their discussion here in the forum.

Do you see something wrong to promote mixers, casinos or betting. Yes, there is lot of people on forum who promote such kind of business, and unfortunately, quite significant part of them are spammers or have no idea what they're talking about. But I wouldn't say that we don't have quality discussion here. And some of best forum users wear paid signatures too.
Also, you want more discussion about technology (there is actually dedeicated board for such kind of discussion https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=6.0), but you shouldn't be geek to use Bitcoin, there is lot of people who don't have deep knowledge about technology and they don't reallly need it.

There are many that have gained more technical knowledge of bitcoin from this forum and I can say I am one of them. Sometimes this things are not free outside but tech savvy guys here give us the knowledge for free.
