Exchanges such as BTC-e allow anonymity. I have been using that exchange for the last 5 years, and they have never asked for any ID proof from me. But most of the exchanges do collect the identity information, although they keep that data with themselves, without sharing with anyone. So right now, the only dataset which is openly available is the leaked Mt Gox userdata, which is almost 3 years old.

The numbers of these people who uses bitcoin nowadays were at an infinite rate which could not be counted because these are getting higher everyday, because it's like a birth of babies usually happened every minute. It was anonymous users, who already adopted earlier this year and they were agressive to earn for better from their investments. Well personally it was me in the previous years I got into this kind of economy, and bitcoin is really a colorful type of currency which is very challenging and inspiring to mankind.

Thats the main advantage of this thing .But there is a way to calculate approximate number of people using the bitcoins by collecting informations from all over the exchanges in the world. That's so impossible to count it one by one and i guess it can't be made only in one day . A research about users is not interesting one because i think its just a wasting of time .The more productive we can do is think of how can we grow our bitcoins in the future .Surely most of the bag holders are the early birds to know bitcoins and those who use to mine bitcoins . Somehow these days big investors are approaching blockchain technology and its use ,so day by day there are a new investors or bitcoiners in bitcoin.

A big no brother.Each and every users of bitcoin creates multiple wallet addresses and accounts so we cant count them by accounts and many people do multiple transaction so we cant count that in daily transaction so its nearly impossible to count all bitcoin users up to time

I have a feeling that the largest amount of coins is owned by relatively small number of people and some new Bitcoin users always come but some are also leaving the Bitcoin world. that's right, its not easy to do it. Only the wallet addresses can be traceable in the blockchain history records. But as everyday pass by a thousands of users are getting involved into bitcoin. So its difficult to determine it.

Even with the wallet addresses generated it's not possible to determine the number of people using bitcoin. Blockchain has got more than seven million wallets. Likewise other wallet providers too have that. I believe bitcoin might have 3-6% of users worldwide.

it does not reflect the total bitcoin users as a whole of course there are many people who use more than one wallet
and very likely there are many users who do not use blockchain

We can't know the actual number of people using bitcoin but all we know now is its million and counting because of internet users that are getting curious and expose in cypto world. Like just in blockchain.info there's already a lot of transactions every second and we can't determine where it came from and who owns it so how much more of other exchangers out there.

So there are less than 1 Million people use bitcoins.

With more than 100M transaction per day and shall we say each person transact only 100x per day it is equivalent to 1,000,000 users. But I think its more than that since there are eople who seldom used bitcoin everyday or never reach 100 transaction in day.

Its true that its hard to determine since we have no proper metrics we can not track all accounts.There are also multiple accounts in each exchanges etc.

Its very hard to know about how many people are using bitcoins,but we can imagine by using total block chain transaction, as per now there are 100 million+ transactions in block chain. one person can do many transaction per day.

So there are less than 1 Million people use bitcoins.

that is true. a single user uses multiple accounts and it becomes difficult to know the number of persons using bitcoin. but it is sure that bitcoin is spreading among everyone.

It is really hard to determine the actual count of bitcoin user worldwide. It's just asking how many strands of hair you have in your head. Well you can count it but only on estimate and will still had a margin of error just like survey was.

I think, there's a million of people who have using Bitcoin. I can say that because we all know how old the bitcoin is. We know that the information can be passed through social media such as facebook in such time. It's difficult to determine how many people are using Bitcoin.

By getting the total number of wallets present in all the exchanges we can just speculate the total number of users as a person can hold multiple wallets in many websites..
It'll be like finding the total number of users who do emails by getting the number from total accounts from service providers.
Seeing the number of transactions happen everyday, we can say that it's definitely more than 3 million.

I'm sorry to say,there's no way to determine the actual numbers of user into bitcoin world. The only thing we can trace was the wallet address only which we can see on the blockchain record everyday.

Even up to now, I am wondered why many of here are getting curious of how many number of members that we had it now. It is very obvious that we are almost all around the world I think we are estimated more than 1 million I think, but not sure it can be more than that count. For daily coming in here.

That's true, all we can do is to estimate the number and cast speculations but the actual number we cannot accurately determine because Bitcoin is worldwide.
