Actually there is no correct answer of your question. And its almost impossible to find the correct number of bitcoin user. But from different researches on Internet I think the will be not less than few hundreds. This is my personal thought. The number is increasing day by day.
I think you have to search about it a few hundred as it is a very low in numbers. I think there are huge amount of people who are using it right now and users are keep on increasing. So it would be really impossible to figure out the actual count when it will keep ticking. Only we may assume for some approximate totals.

Well, it is very difficult to determine the number of users bitcoin for certain, because every day, there are hundreds or even thousands of people join the world bitcoin. maybe this time, there are billions of people using bitcoin, but it is very difficult to guess definitely it. even more so today. bitcoin prices fell back, maybe there are some people who come back to stop using bitcoin.

I think no more than 1 million users. It is based on information released by news websites in china. From 1 million active users bitcoin, over 70% are from china, so that China can control the price bitcoin.
I honestly doubt with that data. you know bitcoin already more than 7 years of launching and bitcoin itself has spread around the world. I'm sure the number of users more than 1 million dude

Those people who uses bitcoin could no be counted because they are infinite in values[1] and became larger in number of users. Everyday the users who decided to invest and transact with digital currency spending is multiplying its population, and it became more popular to all who doesn't knew bitcoin is best for their lives. For now, I dont think that btc influence will get vanish in time because the current price right now reached at 1k usd[2] and that would be a best options to take an opportunity.

[1] It is not infinite. Just finding out the number of all the wallets that created gives you the maximum limit. The population might be growing but it's definitely not infinite. Infinite users would mean infinite number of people in the internet

How can it be an upper limit if this number exceeds the world population (or may exceed)?

If I'm not mistaken, when you are using a web wallet (say, Coinbase), a new address is created every day you make transactions. So this number is utterly useless. It is like assessing the number of people currently living by the number of actively used Internet addresses across the Web. Theoretically, you could use this metric, but how useful will it be to make any reliable conclusion?

It doesn't, it just helps us lower and lower the upper limit[1]. Almost everything doesn't give a reliable conclusion. Even if we use the number of Internet users as the upper limit, it would still be useless since it's pretty obvious that we are much less than that. (I was just trying to point out that the population is not infinite but whatever.)

[1] It can go on like this (the number of population on each is going lesser and lesser):
1. Number of wallets that have been created. ~useless
2. Number of Internet users. ~useless
3. Number of accounts registered on bitcoin related forum. ~useless
4. Number of active accounts on all bitcoin related forum. ~kind of helps

I'd really appreciate if you can think of another way to lessen the upper limit because as it lowers, it makes us get more and more closer to a realistic one

It is assumed that the number of active users roughly matches the doubled number of Bitcoin transactions processed daily. It is not quite clear why we should necessarily double the number of transactions, but I think we can safely assume the lower limit shouldn't be below this figure. As blockchain.info reports, we have a little below 300k transactions processed daily (and this number slowly but steadily grows). Therefore, we have at least around 250-300k active Bitcoin users

Though everyone has his own idea who is an active Bitcoin user

I estimate no more than 2 million users, we know that anonymous bitcoin, but many say that the largest users are from china. the correct way to know the number of users of the bitcoin is in the possibility of exchanger truth 90%.

It is difficult to know the number of the original users of the bitcoin. We all know that the weakness of the system is anonymous data collected could not be accurate. Perhaps we can only estimate that the number of users without being able to ascertain the truth.
That's right. The actual number of bitcoin users cannot be counted, cause of it's increasing every day. Bitcoin is spreading over the world and the last counted number was 2.5 millions, but I am sure that the current number is much higher.
I agree with you. It's could hard to find out there a way to determine the number of people who are actually using Bitcoin right now.Must be hardest job to gather access to such huge information, how many new people have used Bitcoin.I thought no one person there have exist surely tell us how many users we have now but predict somehow a number of peoples actually that's not accurate.

It is difficult to know the number of the original users of the bitcoin. We all know that the weakness of the system is anonymous data collected could not be accurate. Perhaps we can only estimate that the number of users without being able to ascertain the truth.

Even estimation is hard since one user can make multiple wallets. By looking at the number of wallets we cannot determine the number of actual users. In this forum it is also hard to compute the number of users since some users here have one or more account. Another thing we cannot get the total number of users verified on the exchangers since some exchangers allow multiple users since they dont ask for valid ids when you registered.
in fact counting the number of wallet cannot give you the actual number of bitcoin users. there are some people who may be using more than 20 wallets for different purposes and every single usre do not have a single wallet, therefore i think there is no use to estimate the number of bitcoin users just by counting the number of bitcoin wallets.

Is there a way to determine the number of people who are actually using Bitcoin till date? Who would have access to such information? Meaning a way to find out, how many new people have used Bitcoin in 2016 , so that we can say exponential growth is natural not artificially created by hoarders.
i think there are no possible way
every day a lot people join and there also people who quit
but if you ask me if bitcoin user grow? i think it is
i only look in blockchain Number Of Unique Addresses Used and Confirmed Transactions Per Day
for me the important is those people who using it daily

I'm pretty sure the number of total users is indeed growing and will continue to do so for the years to come.

We haven't seen much adoption in the grand scheme of things yet and that may be just around the corner.

Bitcoin and its derivates will be used more, and in more interesting ways.

yes bitcoin is now going strong. it causes the mass people to use it because bitcoin is more easy to use. people need easy transaction to save time and to be productive everyday and i think bitcoin can help us to resolve our problem for that thing. bitcoin will always be the thing when you want to pay something even if you are in work.
yes there is no doubt about this, bitcoin is already is one of the best currency of the world. and will continue as number one currency. bitcoin is also providing good opportunities of investment easy transation no doubt and so many other facilities to the people of the world.
in fact bitcoin is created for proving online services like online shopping, online transaction etc and we can see that now in most of the big online shops they give you option for payment and in which bitcoin option is also present. and most of the people are now using paypay method for online shopping.
I also saw a lot of companies and services using bitcoin nowadays. but I don't think it can help to know the actual number of bitcoin users. even it make it more hard to determine. because lots of users use multiple services.
yes it does not help in calculating the number of bitcoin users. and i think there no such mechanism through which we can use any analysis to find the actual number of bitcoin users. i think we can just roughly evaluate about the progress of bitcoin adopter from its price and from the increasing number of service both online and in real life.

[2] The price of bitcoin would be a good way to persuade someone because they might be thinking that they can get that much money but in actuality, they wouldn't get 1k usd even after a couple of weeks lurking in the bitcoin world. The only ones that get affected that much by the price of bitcoin are the people that are already using it, which is us.
