There should be 1 million people use  or blockchain technology, it will be more in the future, and the price will surge too.
i think no one can exactly know about it bitcoin technology is anonymous and there are several number of wallet on the internet right know and many people enrolled in different wallet so it is very difficult to find that how many exactly know it..... so we can only assume or imagine but we can't find exact number....
Yeah..but I guess the developer can predict their registrations per wallet site, and yes I think it is hard to know how many exact users because we do and make different accounts in different wallet site. I think its impossible for a common user to tell that.
a common person can't tell you how many bitcoin users over in the world but I think it is possible to determine.. it can be done with proper plan and doing a large size survey on all over the web. than the right count of altcoin users can be known.

I searched all over google but I couldnt find any recent information on how many people are using bitcoins in 2017. There is a coindesk article about the big challenge it is going to be for bitcoin to be adopted by 100 Million users. The information is outdated and cannot be used right now as it is about 1 and a half years old now.

It indicates that there are many people who are using bitcoin, every year bitcoin usage holders are keep increasing. It means that people are getting awareness about bitcoin and they are learning themselves about bitcoin. According to my view more than 5 million people are already using bitcoin.

If you want overall how many users are using bitcoin from the beginning, you have some sources to find that information. But if you are looking for the only particular year it is hard to find the users record. We have some basic searching options that are signature campaign check it how many new people are registered in 2017 and wallets how many people opened new bitcoin wallets. Based on this we can find one rough number, but you will not get exact details.

I think it's difficult to count them, it is because of the nature of the bitcoin is anonymous so there is no definite data about user bitcoin. My advice, better made official bank can control the bitcoin.
Yeah you must be a genius. Do you know what Bitcoin is? Bitcoin is a decentralized currency which can not be controlled by any individual or government except its users. The Bitcoin bank can be considered as the most ridiculous idea and Bitcoin experts, hackers never ever accept this idea. Bitcoin is anonymous and you can never change this fact

There is no actual number of people using bitcoin.
No-one can tell the actual number of bitcoin user.
There are many people who keep joining as well as keep leaving.
And there are many sites which shows you the amount of people using bitcoin approximately.

I don't think there's a way to determine the exact # Bitcoin actual users but you can notice that it's actually reaching out more everyday. I have seen more establishments and people starting to accept Bitcoins as payments.

Estimation of number of users by number of wallets wouldn't be a good way. I personally have used over a hundred Bitcoin addresses to receive transactions. Which includes coinbase, xapo, electrum wallets. Also I have used a number of exchanges where they generate unique address for your deposit. And also the investments in ICOs and cloud minings , etc.

You really cannot pull a convincing data about the amount of users when it comes to bitcoin. The slightest possibility is that all the exchanges could publish a data relating to the number of users using the site and that will infact be the most accurate value to determine the amount of people engaged atleast in trading.

I think no one can guarantee that the calculation of total users bitcoin is true or not, because there is no guarantee it. perhaps we can only predict the number of bitcoin users themselves. maybe aroound 100 million users

25,000,000 people or more right now... It appears to not be stopping because of news / trends that keeps putting BTC into popularity.

The real idea here is splitting people on a hiearched structure and making adjustments judging interest based on how many are traders, consumers, investors or miners.

The currency is staged internationally and controlled by no ruling party. Using it and hosting infastructure opens up more to get involved at every level.

I don't really know and I don't think anyone can know the exact number of active bitcoin users, be it 1-2 million or even more, I can't know for sure. What I can, however, know for sure is that in my family and within the circles of my family, it is only me and a brother of mine who are actively using Bitcoin. For now.

Its hard to know the actual number using bitcoin but one thing is for sure, the users are slowly growing and soon it will be recognize by the world hopefully.
The number of bitcoin users is 2.5 millions. I found this information couple months ago on the net. But I think during this couple months the number increased. Bitcoin as money and as technology are getting more and more popular and used in daily life.

"It's on the Internet, it must be true." Am I right?

People can have unlimited number of wallets. People don't have to upload any personal information. People don't share their information. In forums, people can have unlimited number of accounts as well. In facebook groups, people can also have unlimited number of profiles. Tell me, how did they run that "approximation"?

I can hardly believe in that, there are no more than one million of real users; I personally don't know anyone, except me, who uses Bitcoin, not to speak of alts. Many heard about it but nobody ever purchase it  Undecided
The information we found is just a pure estimate, it depends on us on how we evaluate the data we read, and of course we have to make a follow research as well, that information is vital if you are an investor because the number of users also affect the value of bitcoin from time to time.
This is an information that may actually help someone who is trying to invest in this market, I think large investors probably have good estimates in this regard. The price is related to the number of active users in the network, and it is a result of supply and demand, so I think information like this is certainly able to help them make better predictions.

Funny how people think that the number of users really increases the price of bitcoin when we can be, in fact, be filled with beggars right now that started to use bitcoins so they can earn some coins. This information might help get other people into using bitcoins when they see that there's a huge community, but I doubt that it would help them stay in using bitcoins or help them be excited to be persistent in learning all the necessary things about bitcoin.

Because of the anonymity and the tolerance of multiple bitcoin address it is the biggest hindrance to determine the number of users. Although statistically, you can assume figures on the demand of btc whenever there is a pump or dump. Thats my opinion.

According to publicly available data, there are now over 10 million bitcoin wallets. Perhaps the most informative statistic of all is the transaction volume: the number of transactions has also grown impressively, from roughly 80,000 a day to more than 200,000 without showing any signs of slowing.
Bitcoin transactions
Yet, the challenge in 2017 will be captured by the companies that can successfully obfuscate the complexity of bitcoin and bring frictionless value transfer to the next 100 million daily users.

I want to modify this question.  Anyone answer this?

How many people are actually using Bitcoin? ( Those who aren't merely using it as investment) ( those who are using it to make payments, purchase goods ,etc.)

I don't think anybody can say about it. Everyone can use more than 1 wallet for transactions and lot of people do this, using a specific wallet for a specific use. Not long ago a guy promoting the scam Onecoin was bragging Bitcoin has only 300k users. I was near to fail from my chair, i found it very funny

He is in fact more or less correct in his estimation

The basis for this figure is the number of transactions processed by the Bitcoin network daily. It oscillates between 200k and 300k transactions, and it is assumed the number of active Bitcoin users is somewhere between 300k and 500k. What is considered as an active Bitcoin user everyone decides for themselves, but this of course doesn't make the coin that the dude has been promoting less scammy (if it really is, in the first place)

I don't think that estimation is necessarily bad either. 300,000 to 500,000 people all coming together to use this alternative currency with the help or guidance of no government or single corporation. It's pretty amazing to me when you really think about it.

Still no body don't know how many people are exactly using bitcoin, because many people from different countries have involved.  Calculation will not give an exact idea, there are many people who are using many bitcoin right now and exchanging their bitcoin daily in exchanges.

It really does not matter how many exact number of people using bitcoins. The main thing is that if more percentage of people in the world start using this currency, it will increase its demand further making it much more worth.
Assuming 300,000 to 500,000  using bitcoins is a good number but our focus should be  80% of the users using it.
I am of the opinion too that getting to know the number of people using Bitcoin is of little or no importance and even the figures suggested above would be wild off the mark because if the Bitcoin address is the parameter in use, how does it take care of the fact that one person can have as many addresses as possible. I personally have more than 10 Bitcoin addresses, so would that mean the addresses belongs to 10 persons?
