Its a very Denger mater for all of investor.lots of investor invest on ADA if is it true lots of investor lost their capital.so we have to think what is the actual news.and then we have to take step about the matter.
What I know is that many investors get profit through Cardano tokens, even Cardano tokens are still very suitable for trading at this time even though the price is like the street in place, Cardano is not a bad token, so you don't have to worry about that.

As a newcomer to ADA , i fell for a scam youtube website .
Using https://cardanoscan.io i managed to trace my ADA to an address that has 140.000.000 ADA.
So lets call this a dirty address.
I found another connected to that with 220,400,019.
So that is 360.000.000 dirty little ada ...  Shocked

I write to express my wonder when i learned that the scam site business  is rolling a year now , and the cardano community have trouble stopping it.
For  their defense even youtube seems that cant stop those scam videos.

So is there hope? Have other coins had coordinated scam site attacks with that duration and if yes  how did they manage to contain it?

Bitcoin was also brought back to life when scam investment sites thrived. I only trust the major exchanges and trade there. Be careful with your money. In the crypto space, there are thousands of scammers so be careful.
What you are saying is very strange, because Bitcoin does not depend on every site on the internet, be it fraudulent or non-fraudulent sites, Bitcoin will still be alive even though all those sites are not there, so if you say "Bitcoin was also brought back to life when scam investment sites thrived" it will be strange for those who are new to Bitcoin, because as if Bitcoin will die if fraudulent sites don't thrive. As long as people have enough knowledge or at least they wanna spend a few minutes to asking about that on the telegram group or something else and people will never fall into the scam site.
The problem is also how we can report the scam site. So many new comers were also getting scammed by the scam site and when scam site will be down and so many newcomers will be safe from the scammers.
ADA community has been doing so many efforts to take down the scam site but their effort were unable to make the scam site gone

So isnt theres a  line when propably a community should raise a red flag (with a permanent warning to its main etrance points : main sites , wallets , videos from their public personas etc)? Even if that means a temp price decline?

Is it ethical to promote a crypto  with round and nice images  while you know a major elaborate scam is taking place?

It's unethical, but I think the youtubers don't really care if their viewers get scammed following their reviews, they all care about the payment they won't get from those scammers, the best line of action the victims of those fraud should take is to report that YouTube channel until YouTube looks into the matter or better still ban the channel promoting the scam project.

Youtube will take it down if there's report that pointing it out into scam, it will be a great help if victims or those who
see this scamming activities report it out to Youtube.

It's unavoidable due to the possible payment after those scammed victims falls into this kind of activities, greedy peps
are after those money.

In any business, fraud will always exist as a dark shadow haunting, and they will never stop even though they have been proven to be fraudulent, because they will always have a way to do that, they just think how they can move your assets into their wallets, all we can do is be more thorough in researching a project, and avoid projects that look too good and have minimal flaws.

I agree with people above. There is no way of stopping scams. It is not just crypto and it definitely is not just ADA. There are Bitcoin scams and US dollar scams probably even more of those.

Keep reporting the scams like we do on this forum. And keep educating yourself. There is no other way in the end.
I think that many people have their senses dulled, governments should protect their citizens since that is their first responsibility but that does not mean not learning how to protect yourself, common sense still needs to apply, no one would give all of their life savings to a stranger they just met on the street for a few minutes and yet in the market of cryptocurrencies this is incredibly common and then those people complain about losing their money, of course they lost their money, they need to be smarter than that if they want to retain their capital for any amount of time.

There's no hard way of stopping it. As long as there's anonymity, there will be scammers trying to trick you and steal from you.

sorry for your loss. I hope you recover it.

In current environment you have to be vigilant to avoid scam sites. Always check official communication channel when you are investing your hard earned money. This can be difficult for new comers and sometimes even old users due to fomo. I am sure there will be a solution in the future but currently this system is still evolving and you have take your own precautions to stay on the safe side.

So is currently investing in Cardano the wrong choice? now that half of my assets are invested in cardano, it's only natural that right now the price of cardano is just running on the spot, never going any higher as usual. so what about the future of caardano?
Not a wrong choice mate. Cardano still has its potential that is why many people would like to use its name to scam and tricked people because they know investors will invest this coin. But it doesn't mean that gonna be the reason for its failure. Maybe you can see that the price of Cardano is doing well, it pumps together with the others despite those scamming trick.

Quote
is it still possible for cardano to be the best altcoin after Ethereum?
Well, that seems possible but couldn't tell when or if its developers would like to do it. It all depends on the developer, if they do nothing to help it going closer to the top 5, I could say that there is nothing that will be change to its current market position.

Good if Cardano still has the potential to continue to rise, because I see not only me who wants Cardano to return to being the best Altcoin after ethereum. there are still a lot of investors who want this. thank you for the information you provide.

Is that to much for a crypto community to do ?
I will say it again, you are completely on command of the security of your coins, it would be nice the market was not full of scammers and that something more could be done to stop them, but this is not the nature of this market, cryptocurrencies are based on freedom and this means that you need to learn how to protect yourself from the most common scams, if something as easy as to not give your private keys or your seed words to another person is too much for people then this market is probably not for them.

In fact, if it is related to the YouTube platform, it can be resolved by blocking the deactivation of their YouTube account.
but those who have to do the reporting are the parties who are injured or those who have transacted or parties from Cardano. it will be very influential to be able to freeze or delete the youtube scammer account. of course, by including supporting evidence.
In addition to reporting from Cardano parties the cardano fans might help a little help by including evidence if it's fake. So such a thing should be eliminated because it has harmed it, sometimes the person who just joined Cardano could not examine further about Cardano and it would make people lose profit.

Scammers are using the popularity of ADA, and not actually ADA but most of the coins that are hype during the bull run.

This is the time the scammers like as they can victimized newbie investors who are greedy but with lack of knowledge.
So if we don't want to become a victim of scam, we should be knowledgeable, don't easily ride with the fomo, always consider knowing the riska and in investing so you'll not be stupid when investing.

Also, knowing ADA project is the most important.

ADA is so hyped at the moment so we could easily expect a lot of scam website that is related to ADA and cryptocurrency at the moment.

I mean scams are just unstable in the cryptocurrency community and they have so many methods just to scam people on different social media platforms.

So just to be safe if you're in the cryptocurrency market you already know how the scam works here especially in the past year, so we could consider scams as a normal thing here so just do your research.

Such scam, not only limited to cardano but other coins aswell, it's just so rampant because people easily fell for it and they make big money just doing scam like that and the sad thing is, no matter how much effort you put to report these kind of scam, they just gonna multiply and appear even more frequently and not to mention that we're in a decentralized space where transaction is irreversable. You just can't expect people to stop it whether the devs or not.

But isnt it too much to ask from newcomers to a crypto to be able to cope with elaborate scam that involves youtube hijacking , (let me remind when you watch youtube you are in a mood to learn , have fun), by displaying videos of public Cardano persons embedded in frames to link to the scam sites, site designed to exploit the general fomo and greed that are the prevailing emotions even to old crypto users?

So isnt theres a  line when propably a community should raise a red flag (with a permanent warning to its main etrance points : main sites , wallets , videos from their public personas etc)? Even if that means a temp price decline?

Is it ethical to promote a crypto  with round and nice images  while you know a major elaborate scam is taking place?

It seems you do not want to take responsibility of your own actions, cryptocurrencies work differently than fiat currencies, if you do not want to get scammed then you should only buy coins in exchanges and leave them there, you are relinquishing one of the most important aspects of this market which is full ownership of your money but you will improve your security by doing nothing, but be aware exchanges can be hacked as well and there is nothing you can do when that happens, it is better to secure your coins yourself but you will have to learn a lot in order to secure your coins better than what an exchange can.

I think no team does as much as  Cardano to fight the scam. Recently they have launched a special anti-scam task force to combat scammers. But as they say "every tub must stand on its own bottom".[1]. So before doing something related with finance  on the page of   any site everyone must thoroughly examine it. Personally, I begin my "financial" journey by studying the site certificate.

You can't really moderate scams.
I saw the reasoning on why scams aren't even moderated here.
It's almost pointless because they're just gonna keep creating their own means in doing another scam.
Buy another domain and just make it look like the usual.
Not sure if that decision of Cardano team would be even worth it. Even to this day, there are still a lot of phishers in my junk email.

Yeah right, there's no stopping as long as there are people who are not careful and still being victimized,

those scammers will continue, it's really on the part of the end users, they are the one who needs to

be more extra careful, never to fall to anything and always check if the sites are legits.

It's on youtube? if it is related to YouTube, you can make a report with clear evidence to YouTube that the account is cheating, but if the reporting is only one person and plus the account already has many subscribers it will be difficult to follow up on the account, try you collect the people who are victims and collect as much evidence as possible, then you make a report to youtube to follow up on the account.

There are really a lot of scams around here at crypto and it is our responsibility not to fall for it. Aside from ADA, there are many scammers taking advantage of different projects just to scam people. If a project got a spotlight in news, I'm sure that in the coming days scammers will use that project to scam people. Even Elon Musk's name was used by the scammers all over Twitter and sadly there were a bunch of people who fell for it. Just being active in this forum could help us to fill our knowledge and get a high chance not to fall for these scams.
Even just using up your own common sense then you would really be able to save up your own ass on getting scammed. If everything sounds too good to be true then it is a scam.
You should really be putting up this common line into your mind and you would be safe.On the topic about ADA then this doesnt only limit out on ADA itself but also in other projects as
well as long there some hype that is currently happening in the market then you can really expect that there would be some follow up scam sites that would really be created.
So you should really be aware on this and to those noobs out there due to lack of knowledge on how this market works then let them on experiencing some mistake because
they would eventually learn after that.

That site probably scammed many people already if its a year old and yes it can’t be stopped easily because of many reasons. There’s a lot of scam site honestly, and those are professional scammers so they know what they are doing that’s why we always have to be careful on clicking any site. If you found any suspicious site, share that here in the forum to spread awareness.

Sorry about that, but it's funny how people believe some things that are way too good to be true, how can an investment site offer you insane APY and you feel it's normal?, I think there's no putting an end to crypto scam as it stands, cuz no matter how hard we try to combat fraudulent activities this scammers just always find a new way to get what they want which is stealing money from their victims, we just have become smart and stop believing all those high returns they always promise us.

There are many platforms like this which I have seen, for people who don't make enough research they will fall for this easily and invite friends and family. They usually tag ADA price which will make many people believe it. I am not sure of such can be stopped.

right now to stop fraud that occurs in the world of crypto is impossible because fraud continues to grow rapidly and strangely enough, many people who continue to believe that such a project can provide great benefits to them and actually they are aware of what the fraudsters are offering not something that makes sense but they still believe, so the only thing we can do to stop fraud is not to be tempted or trapped by what is really offered by them and usually scammers offer something that doesn't make sense like a big profit in time the short one.

There are so many cases of scams in the crypto world that even scammers hack YouTube accounts of famous artists or personalities to promote projects or seek prey so the way to avoid it is to make sure that the information is true and accurate, you or all of us can avoid it if we are really careful.

Even how careful we are with those promotional ads or even social media vlogs, many people tend to be trapped with their contents. So the best ways to get rid of them, is to do a fact check before deciding to invest on their kind of schemes. In a business there's no assurance, but knowing your customer is very important and if you're an investor or part of a certain project campaign, don't hesitate to scrutinize.
It is very common now that cryptocurrencies has good values thus all sort of scams will continue to spring out in a bid to defraud unsuspecting newbies, the OP is an example,  I have read comments here on this forum on how scammers used social media especially YouTube to scam people before the videos is taken down, I had exercised all cautions with anything that has to do with cryptocurrencies on YouTube, they must have scammed a lot of people especially the gullible ones.

You can't simply put it to ignore. Scammers will never stop doing it, that is why we need to have extra careful in visiting sites particularly in accessing our wallet because a single mistake could lead to losing everything we have.

Not only ADA have this kind of scam trick, nothing has an excuse herein crypto.
And it is a good thing you have found it, it is a big help for the community not to fall this kind of dirty tactics by scammers. From time to time, their space will be limited as the awareness never stop.

Scam is inevitable every business, I don't think it's ever going to stop cause they will always be that set of people who do nothing but want something, those set of people don't work to get the money rather they only think of how they can out smart others and move the money from your wallet to theirs, and each day they keep coming out with new ideas that will entice investors , next time try to avoid anything that seems too good to be true, it's always a scam.

Unfortunately, scammers always choose large projects for their purposes. Swindlers see great interest in ADA and in advance come up with schemes for stealing other people's money. It is sad that at the present time we are still forced to face such a phenomenon as cyber fraud. Indeed, it takes a very long time to find the real website address and not transfer money to the accounts of fraudsters.

Be especially careful when choosing an investment, check website addresses and other information about crypto projects very carefully.

Scammers are just waiting for opportunities, they are well aware in any venue where they can easily grab investment / money

from people who are unaware. It's tough battle but with right knowledge you'll be able to avoid any instances of scams or hacking which is also part of this business.

Taking your time doing your DYOR is really important before taking any deal with same alike schemes.

You can't truly stop scams. You can stop people from getting scammed, once that happens, scams stop spreading.
Agreed, people must have educated themselves through DYOR before try to take any decision. Remember that so many people have been getting fooled by the scammers through various ways.
I should remind you that OP was also doing the same like that caused by he is lack of knowledge. The newbie should be more active in its telegarm group or ask someone who has very good credibility on the group to avoid the scammers. So many scammers and this will never be stopped.

Yes, scandals have spread all over the world. Now the number of scandals is very high. Many people are giving projects of many kinds. People are working on those projects. When the work is over, the people who worked hard and spent time behind the project are not paid.  The scandal is getting a little too much. Bitcoin will be infamous if it continues like this. I hope we will get rid of such scams soon.
Such scams are very difficult to get rid of and will even exist forever, because those who create scams are always looking for new ways to lure people into their strategies, so it will be very difficult to get rid of them.

Luring people who are lazy not to do their homework, they are the most target of those scammers.

First of all sorry for your unfortunate loss and I wish you have learned from this accident, those kinds of scam are quite common nowadays. It's not only shown on youtube but other social media as well and sometimes google ads show the same, before putting your money in any crypto services it'll be wise if you use the logic and your own diligence. However, since you are a newbie then at least ask your friends/community who have more knowledge in the space.

But isnt it too much to ask from newcomers to a crypto to be able to cope with elaborate scam that involves youtube hijacking , (let me remind when you watch youtube you are in a mood to learn , have fun), ~snip~
There is nothing wrong with that kind of thought. The thing is youtube is not a platform that focusing to learn any particular subject nor to entertain ourselves only but this is a worldwide video sharing platform, there are lots kind of videos uploaded every day includes videos that lead to scam one. So you need to put extra awareness if you watching videos that involve financial stuff.

This aren't anything new. How come you still fall for this youtube scam? People have been warning each other for years about those scams. Even few months ago, there was this twitter scam that used the same strategy to scam people and it made it to the headlines. I am sure you invested or sent money over there with a hope of getting back 3x or 4x your amount, right? Don't you understand that those offers are too good to be true?
So is there hope? Have other coins had coordinated scam site attacks with that duration and if yes  how did they manage to contain it?
Scams like this existed for centuries. You can't "contain" it. All you have to do is be smart and don't fall for stupid offers/stuffs.

With that youtube scams you mean the fake giveaways but needs to deposit first before they give it out? Probably youtube can not stop those channels unless you and other users will gonna report the video to stop at least scamming new victims. Then youtube will now then take actions.
Usually, those newbies will be attracted with the "free money".

And scammers will still continue with different tactics, as long as they are victims that fall for this, scammers won't go away. Looking at how huge ADA on that address, many victims were deposited willingly with wrongly belief that they will get double in return.

There are many platforms like this which I have seen, for people who don't make enough research they will fall for this easily and invite friends and family. They usually tag ADA price which will make many people believe it. I am not sure of such can be stopped.
Yes, this is a very serious trap for those who often rush into making decisions without finding out about security or not, so it is clear in this case that a platform that offers something beyond logic is a scam and cannot be trusted.

Another newbie scam. Unfortunate that we keep getting this scam because they are all around trying to catch unsuspecting person. Most especially when a coin gets large community, it opens up room for scam. The YouTube videos we watch sometimes seem to be leading people to believe everything. Remember is only a video, take your time while investing.

Using https://cardanoscan.io i managed to trace my ADA to an address that has 140.000.000 ADA.

This doesnt only limit out with ADA alone but also in other projects in the market that currently existing and this had been a typical modus of scammers where phishing sites, hacking wallets
and other stuffs this thing cant really be get rid off the only way you can do is to report those youtube channels or websites that are scam and at least those would be taken down

but to expect that they would really make new and would continue the process as long there are noobs who are fool enough to believe with common easy money offering but actually
those are just bait to make people exposed of their keys.

Unstoppable? Yes, but using up your common sense will save up your ass.

Community has done a lot of these from reporting the fake sites, hijacked accounts, etc. but they can not be stopped at all because there is always a loophole in everything, when we reported their fake website and it's taken down, the scammer can make a new one. when we reported the hijacked account that promoted the scam, it got taken down too but they still can use the others. just like in real life, can you stop a thief for good? no you can not.
that is why we need to know what we are doing and be rational at everything.

Uhhh yes OP they're common now these days.
One would even try to get your wallet to get all your precious coins (maybe not all because some of my coins were shit back then).
I wouldn't advise to trust a lot in Youtube even if there were a lot of subscribers or likes.
There's that thing called sold channels, like bot, and sub bot. They're being used by many deceivers in order to scam a lot of people.
If I can recall correctly, there was also fake ETH giveaway back then in youtube.

And the worst part of this horrendous act is that newbies are their target and there will always be a newbie who will fall victim and have an awful experience to take back to his/her none-crypto buddies,  too bad this site can't be stopped, I wish people are aware enough not to fall victim.

Scams are unstoppable in general when it comes to crypto because there is no intermediate in between the sender and receiver so the sender needs to take all responsibility where they are sending their cryptos. But if you know that youtube is promoting a scam site via ads or by the contents itself then you can report it to the Youtube support, when the video received enough amount of report then youtube will take down the contents and channel itself.

And also the address can be reported and can be blacklisted on the exchange if you personally affected by such kind of scams.

The thing is, there really are many scams in cryptocurrencies. It ain't only for ADA but for every crypto. Most of them are into bitcoin and ethereum.

But since the popularity of crypto has increased, any potential altcoin that there will be investors, they're likely to scam anyone as long as there's  a market for that coin.

In fact, if it is related to the YouTube platform, it can be resolved by blocking the deactivation of their YouTube account.
but those who have to do the reporting are the parties who are injured or those who have transacted or parties from Cardano. it will be very influential to be able to freeze or delete the youtube scammer account. of course, by including supporting evidence.

if there will be a lot of users that will report the YT video or the channel itself, i believe YT will take it down or even delete it, if found guilty. so if this particular site is hard to contain, that means, not enough people or no sufficient evidence has been received by YT. those who were scammed should provide concrete evidence so it will be stopped accordingly. we have seen this many times over in bitcoin or eth.

You know there are entire organizations that deal with large fraudulent schemes. They cleverly manipulate channels with 100-200k subscribers on YouTube. I don't understand how they do it, they will probably rename their channel. I saw once as a channel with 220k subscribers, I advertised the XRP doubler, online was about 10k if my memory serves me right.

That is one sample of the scamming that we already saw out there, and I am sure that many others scam that we did not know because not all people report the scam to the police or the other government instances. I am sure that hope still there and as long as we can take care of our money, and we always research before deciding, we can save the money and find the right investment. We need to search for the other investment about the right or wrong, so we do not choose the wrong investment.

There is and why not? The sites can't be taken down and the majority of the community supporting the platforms were only spreading awareness. The problem is newcomer lack of knowledge about how to get the correct information.
