What sort of meta-data can be added to a bitcoin transaction? And which wallet or web app can do that? Thanks

You cant add data to a transaction. Meta-data would be the Bitcoinaddresses used. Not sure if you use "meta-data" wrong or I dont understand your question.

Indeed you can add data to a tx (up to 80 bytes) with OP_RETURN since qt 0.9.0.

Things like blockchain.info use to allow users to add message to a transaction. This would be stored on the web site's database not the actual btc blockchain I presume.

Thanks! I assumed there is a field you can include some text with your transactions. So the only data you can include in a transaction is the address, the amount and the fee, right?

Well there is more https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Transactions
but no message currently.
