Addiction is a worldwide phenomenon that adversely affects the lives of millions of people.
According to data provided by Forbes.com, the five most expensive addictions for the United States, according to annual treatment costs and productivity losses, are alcohol ($ 166 billion), smoking ($ 157 billion), drugs ($ 110 billion), overeating ($ 107 billion) and gambling ( $ 40 billion).
Alcohol is a factor in one third (30%) of sex offenses, in every third burglary (33%) and in half of UK street crime cases.
Tobacco, alcohol and drug abuse cost the United States over $ 600 billion annually through costs related to crime, lost work productivity and health care.
These are just some of the scary statistics that are reflected in countries around the world and show the deadly impact of abuse.
In my opinion for such unnecessary things is a great expense of money, it is also not good for health and can be deadly.
Let me know what do you think about it.
