Could more info be add to these messages? I know that the addr is very size sensitive, so would just like one byte that indicated how many connections it had.

For Version Message size does not really matter, so could add a lot more:
e.g. Number of connections, time been running, number of invalid blocks received and ip of last host that sent it one, and same for trans. I am sure people can think of more.
Would be fine if there was a switch on client that disabled them all for the hyper security conscious.


My reasoning is that they would be very useful for monitoring the overall health of the network, especially when the day comes and someone tries to DOS the whole thing.
