Nah there is nothing wrong with that. When I was working as a freelancer, some of my clients back then would prefer to take it to Skype and do some interviews and also give some explanation of what they need and how they want it done. So there is nothing wrong with that. The only problem is that when you start the work, how are you going to be receiving payments, will there be any escrow services in place to protect you from being scammed for the job your do?? That's the most important thing so that you don't end up doing a free work.

First I dont know if this is the right place to put this question. I created this one here because some must know the answers to my questions because some legendary that I know more likely to say is a creator of a campaign

I would likely to ask if someone wants to add you in skype (the user that wants to start a campaign) I was interested join in his/her upcoming campaign. I was interested to  be the graphic artist so than he wants me to him on skype.

Is it okay to talk to him via skype? Did someone already tried it?.

Things that come up into my mind:

1.he could use my face my identity to scam other poeple(he/she might screenshot it in the middle of our conversation

2. I want to study if this was likely safe ( I was thingking that only the person I already see in person(my boss for exampls) would be okay
Lol,  seems like the person is just looking for a free work. Like, why not hire a freelancer from one of these freelance platforms? You're taking a huge risk, cause meeting him anywhere outside a platform that can guarantee your payment means that you're likely to end up doing a free work for someone you don't even know. You should be very careful,  you cab look for an escrow services or even make use of pioneer cause they have escrow feature to ensure that you are getting paid for the work you do. Or if you have a freelancer profile (account) on platforms like Upwork, you can send him link to your profile to hire you from there to ensure safety. If he's a scammer, he wouldn't agree.

Do not use skipe if you are interested about your safety and your privacy since you are exposing yourself too much by talking to someone that you do not know who he is.

I would not worry too much about adding someone on skype. Usually nothing suspicious or bad will ever happen, but of course there can be odd occasions. As mentioned before, be sure to not click on suspicious links or any files that have been sent to your account. Doing so might compromise the overall account security. If you are really paranoid, you could make a 'fake', alternate skype account to hide your identity. On top of that, you can buy a VPN subscription to hide your real IP.

And if you are really scared, you can do everything above while running it in a virtual machine.

I don't think it's necessary.. Because if I want to join a campaign certain to get more jobs, I just need to express bicoin. There I found information and work in accordance with I. How about you?

If you care about your privacy or if you think that you may be scammed then the only thing you can is avoid to use skype, you may lose some opportunities but it is better to be safe than to risk getting scammed.

Using skype is pretty much risky for our own identity if the people have clean intention to have a deal with us maybe he would surely agree to those other messaging app like telegram, whatsapp and other more. But if people doubting for using this kind of conversation and your counter part push it then you should turn those offer off for identity safety purposes.

Most of the campaign manager and traders are also having Skype account using it alone bitcoin project purposes alone. You can create any Skype with the different location added on it. No one gonna check you that with the location details.

There is no problem with it if you are applying for a job, just make sure that you applied with a right person ask them whats the name of the interviewer and what company they are so that you may actually know if they are telling the truth or not, we can figure out by ourselves if the interviewer is legit or not.

Well i guess for me that depends on the member itself if he was some good reputation in the forum site but only if the campaign urgently requires it, i dont see any reasons why would someone asked me to skype when we can chat normally in pm's if that person has no real important reason why would we skype then i would not agree with him. Some people may try to try to identify you in making calls in skype so they can try to impersonate you, identify what country you are from, accent and native tongue you use then do some information gathering about you.

If it is a job interview, most likely they would prefer it to be a video interview. That's normal. I've been there and it's all right. I mean the both of you will have to somehow meet the other and feel comfortable that's why a video interview is preferable.

However, you will have to do your own share of assignment also. Make sure that the project you are interested with is trusted and reliable. Do some research and read their profile and the likes. If you are in serious doubt then it is your choice not to proceed.

Most of the time it's probably a scam. You'll get nothing out of it and they'll get a ton. There are more legitimate ways to get a hold of you and way more secure ways of course.

I'm a skype user, i never create a real account of me the reason is i transaction with some strangers on internet, and i'm very scared to showing my face, i usually make a call if we're talking about the business, yeah the privacy is number one, just never showing your face they (the scammer) can screenshoot it, create a fake id, claim your account (like on exchanger) or doing something bad with it, telegram is another option i think.

That would be the safest thing for us to do since their are so many frauds using skype just to make people believe that they are legit, And their are other as you said that can steal your identity and they will surely use it from different bad schemes around here so better we should be more vigilant upon using skype and use dummy all the times.

We don't know if the person who offers you a job has a bad intention or good but to be safe you can fake your identity then don't go with skype you can talk with a call or in a messenger. Actually there isa lot tobe safeway than to risk your identity in someone who is strange.

Actually it does not matter if you can be careful. But I personally because this is risky I will not do it. If someone wants to invite business I think with a message or chat it is enough, so no need to talk through skype. As you said your identity can be used to commit fraud or other actions, if this happens it will be very inconvenient. If you want to do it, it does not matter, but my advice is more cautious and maybe try to let you know the person's face first.

I also do not trust this kind of scheme easily. When i am about to take a job using skype i am not using my personal skype account instead i will use a business skype axcount which has different details from my personal details.
It is okay if the person is a trusted or reoutabke in the field of his company or offered job order but if he is almost a strange one i like what you said that you use a dummy skype account so that he cannot do anything bad with your personal identity that he can use in illegal or by blackmailing you.
I agree with you If its a job interview and the person who adds you give information about him/her of the company don't be afraid what kind of job did they offer to you if you see it's a legit job go for it you just need take the risk to be successful but be careful when they send attachments or link because it maybe a pishing link or anything just make sure you check it first.

Why wont you bother? since its just skype and your face isnt that too important that it can be used on scamming someone. If you do find out that guy here on this forum with a Legendary rank or high rankings then it wont be problem as long they are reputable on this forum (just always look out for their trust since not all high ranks are legits)  Adding you in skype is really an awkward thing but if you are the one who do add then theres nothing wrong with that.

If you want a descent job from a legit company then its okay, and many people tried it already since skype are mostly the chat/conversation process/ways for communication in a job, even on my previous company I worked. And he/she can't use your face for identity thief/scam because anyone can search your name on google and get a copy of it, if there's an exisiting image already except if you gave your personal information, like ID on your conversation well its not recommended tho.

I haven't used skype for 5 or 6 years so i don't know what changes it does but i suggest that you should use two different accounts; one for personal use and; one for business.

but yah don't use video calls on anyone that asked you to. do a background check if you can. if not decline because your safety is the top priority.

this is optinal but you can ask your employer if he has telegram as it is much easy to use than skype imho.

You are safe as long as you do not provide any vital information or download anything suspicious given by him. If you are uncomfortable with  video chatting with him,let him know. I don't think he needs to see your face just to give you a job online.  Just be safe and if you think there is something fish, just back out.

I will say, it depends on the job offer and other factors that surrounds it. You don't expect a reputable company or individual wanting to hire a rep on long-term basis not knowing and see who he wants to hire and aside that interviews are being conducted via Skype these days as I have equally done one myself. The fact is if you are not comfortable doing it, just don't move close to it several deals have been sealed via Skype.

I believe that skype is te most secure way to hire someone for a job,you dont have to share your personal info at all and the nema you use doesnt even have to be real

For a chat, yes Skype is best but for business Skype is not. It is vulnerable and lots of malwares and viruses can be affected through Skype. Haven't you heard about ewhoring.?

It is okay to add or let someone added you on skype but if they send you any files over and ask you to download in your computer, this task may not be safe for you. A stranger can send you virus file, it can leak your personal data to a specific server.

Its safe, just be careful clicking any link from your contacts, if you dont trust the link or your unfamiliar with the domain, its best to ignore it. if you cant resist clicking it, try to use incognito page so they cant embed any cookie on your browser. just to be safe.

Adding a member to the Skype doesn't cause any big problem. It's us who control the entire activities of our account. I could suggest to be cautious while using the information received from person whom you feel to be problematic or just delete them. It won't affect any data transfer and other malware attack.

In past time, I used skype for make deal or buying some things. But usually see scammer and got scam because not use Escrow when make deal.
Skype very easy for fake information and become to scammer. It can remove history chat in conversation and you will not have proof for prove this person is scammer. Very risk when use Skype for job at now if not use escrow

I will not detailed my advices and we will go directly to the situation why you are asking this question.

As far as you can see that they are legit and their staffs are well transparent then I don't mind showing my face. It's your camera so you can just show not your whole face. Because on the other hand they will show theirs too. Also I don't think that your image as a screenshot will be used on scam. It's unusual if a person that is target to be scammed will believed in that kind scam with screenshot of your image. To make scam, it must be presentable and just a screenshot of your face will do nothing.

Also if just for discussions, then obviously they will not asked for a live view as the only thing do here is to chat and chat and chat. Maybe at first meeting you can allow some camera thing because both party will do it also. Internet is a dangerous world but it doesn't mean it's all about danger. We have some working minds that can deal with that kind of concern.

I would never talk to strangers on Skype or any other platform showing my face. If you are interested in working with them, show your portfolio, your last jobs, there isn't need to show your face... It's surely not safe if you don't know the person on the another side of the screen.

Try to make it most professional as possible, but without showing yourself, only by emails, files, these things...

It would be safe if you are talking to the legit person like other said legendary and high reputative here in forum can be trusted because their account was valuable here in forum.
You can also use escrow of they are offering a job for you to add in skype i think it safe.. and it is easy to chat with the person who offer a job than you are just chatting here in forum..

Adding someone on Skype shouldn't be problematic. Just make sure that you don't open/download any suspicious attachments or links and you should be fine.
If it's an interview then it should purely be that. Don't fall for any click bait and you'll be safe.

i don't think there is a clear-cut answer for this. I'm not a skype user (probably never will be), but i've been asked for my skype details on numerous occasions.
IF i were a skype user, i would probably have denied 75% of those requests, but indulged the other 25%.

You just have to know what you're doing...
- when talking over skype, the other party gets to know what you look like, and how you sound
- he/she can probably deduce your country (native english speaker, accent, people talking on the background)
- the other party can see part of your house/location you're skyping
- don't know if this is fixed (yet), but skype used to lack proper end to end encryption, and they were using central servers
- skype requires a phone number, which can be used to identify you
- there used to be tricks for the other party to discover your home ip address

In some cases, all these 'vulnerabilities' might not be a problem (at all), but in most cases, i wouldn't use skype.

An extra factor is that skype conversations are a bit harder to prove than discussions on the public forum... In case the other party turns out to be a scammer, it might be handy if your conversations were all public.
