Yea, We need more FULL nodes, and I should think, the people running FULL nodes, should be rewarded, for doing it. {A small portion of the transaction fees generated on the blockchain, could be devided between everyone running a FULL node, or they could get faster transaction processing and verification, as a perk, for running a FULL node}

Well that is my take on this.  Wink

Although I did give it a thumbs down because he doesn't sound Pro-BTC and nothing like a believer, some of what he says is not entirely wrong, but some is VERY frustrating!!, On top of this it has seemed to have generated a lot of BULLSHIT comments.

One comment really stood out to me where the guy said something like " You guys DONT FKN GET IT DO YOU!! If the blockchain got that large assuming a few TB then the average home user wont be able to download the block chain and nodes would need to be in data centers which then removes the whole point off bitcoin because your relying on the system"

I did reply to him to clarify where he was wrong, but this led me to think what the btc community actually thinks about "being out of the system"-

Yes we all know we all do not need to run a node to use Bitcoin especially now as it is very distributed and even more so later.  But as I understand Satoshis main points and many of the original thoughts at the creation point of bitcoin was to get out of the current currency regime system and remove the need for governments to govern our hard earned money and not be able to inflate it at will and control many other aspects it. I never thought anyone wanted to be totally "off grid" as-in being no part of the system what so ever. I mean just being on the internet means we rely on the system as we connect via ISP's and ISP's are regulated by law which is the system , Agree?. In fact I saw a post from Satoshi stating that in future large data centers will be doing the mining. He knew that there is more benefit NOT to cheat.

Not sure about you but I did not invest into bitcoin to unplug from the entire system, I invested in it because I do not like how governments can control almost EVERY aspect of our money, inflating my money by printing at will, choosing how much it is to be worth the next year and the fact that if shit hits the fan, they can even dip in and take what they want from our accounts. I really don't even care about pseudo anonymity to me this is a great added bonus but if someone wants my name , who gives a shit, I have nothing to hide and I doubt people give a shit what groceries , TV, Computer/laptop, phone and movies I am buying this week the next, or the one after. I hope the majority of people start to see this and use Bitcoin... maybe even one day companies open up which provide the same services as banks for the people who feel they need or want to pay for extra security and maybe extra benefits that requires manpower to service, meaning extra fees for them. Even though I will never use them, this is good for the people who still like the feeling of insurance and the current savings system, maybe they will offer interest rate savings accounts etc... I don't care if these companies take over the current banks and call them selfs Bitcoin banks, we all know they cannot inflate our money and control the protocol and  for the people who want full control like most of us will never use these Bitcoin banks so the only people that can dip into our accounts are ME & YOU and for the rest who like and rely on these current systems need to realize they do not have the ULTIMATE power over there account if they use the bitcoin banks, just like right now, but even so these bitcoin banks will still be better than the current banks which are tied to the federal reserve.

Now I kept thinking about it , so even Satoshi himself stated that later, big data centers would run nodes and mine,  so for someone who created the protocol and new it back to front aswell as what the implications of large data centres mining would consist off and the effect. Is this really  a bad thing...

Then, in another note - is it really that hard to find a solution to being a Node and not needing ALL the blockchain or all transactions in the history on our computers, I mean .. how does multibit connect in 10 seconds, know all my transactions and how many times each one was confirmed etc.. Cant we have something like this? I do really hope the community come together and develop something when and if the time is needed and it doesn't turn into something like the 51% or double spend problems which have been worked on for years with no solution.
