Advertise your Project in the Virtual World of SL

...WHAT IS SECOND LIFE?

Second Life is an online virtual world, developed and owned by the San Francisco-based firm Linden Lab and launched on June 23, 2003. In many ways, Second Life is similar to massively multiplayer online role playing games; however, Linden Lab is emphatic that their creation is not a game: "There is no manufactured conflict, no set objective". Second Life users/residents create virtual representations of themselves, called avatars, and are able to interact with places, objects, and other avatars. They can explore the world, meet other residents, socialize, participate in both individual and group activities, build, create, shop and trade virtual property and services with one another. The platform principally features 3D-based user-generated content.

...WHY ADVERTISE IN SECOND LIFE?

“The virtual world is a phenomenal place to market, because you can interact with consumers in a way that doesn’t happen in the real world,” says Glenn Fisher, director of marketing programs for Linden Lab. Second Life and it’s viable economic system combine the markets of the real life with the virtual world. It is an advantage that Second Life has its own economy and a virtual token referred to as Linden Dollars. In the SL economy, users are able to buy and sell to one another directly, using the Linden Dollars, which is a closed-loop virtual token for use within the Second Life platform. This seems natural to promote both virtual goods as well as virtual payment solutions and virtual investment assets.

...FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. How many people can I reach with my advertising in Second Life?
Second Life has more then 7+ million registered users at this time and 900,000 active users a month.

2. Second Life is a free to play game, will my advertising generate any returns
for my project?

The residents in Second Life are able to play for free, but for a better (virtual) life they have to spent money on different kinds of virtual goods like houses, cars, bikes, clothing, land rental and so on. SL residents get payouts of $60 million in real-world money every year by a virtual economy that has more than $500 million USD in GDP every year. Second Life is a world of opportunities. So clearly YES, we are sure that advertising in virtual worlds such as SL are always worthwhile.

3. What are the advertising costs and how long will the advertising last?
We charge between 2- 3 ETH (or equivalent to your own project token/coins). 2 ETH is the cost of the ad-space in the SL Crypto Center. For 3 ETH you also get additional ad-space on different areas outside of the SL Crypto Center, for example: additional stand/booth with billboard ads in different locations like, Business Parks, Malls, Sandboxes and other crowded places all over Second Life. The ad campaign is set for a duration of 3 months.

In a nutshell:
2 ETH = Ad-space in the SL Crypto Center
3 ETH = Ad-space in the SL Crypto Center + 1 additional space on another sim/region + 1 billboard ad, also on another sim/region (Business Parks, Shopping Malls, Sandboxes, Clubs, Welcome Areas, Game Zones)

4. What happens after the advertising period of 3 months?
If your project is in the final stages of the ad campaign and you would like to extend the advertising period, just contact us and we will arrange an extension for your ad.

5. How do visitors become aware of the SL Crypto Center and my project?
The SL Crypto Center is built on a commercial land and is accesible to the entire population of SecondLife. Our business is tightly integrated into the search engine of the Second Life Client through certain keywords and is simple to use for anybody looking for topics such as cryptocurrency, bitcoin and ethereum. Furthermore, the name of your project will be also fed into the search engine in order to be found directly. Additionally, we are working with a Network-Marketing-Agency to advertise our place grid-wide all around Second Life. Last but not least, we pay weekly fees for the Second Life Classified Ad System, to advertise our business at multiple places by getting listed at Second Life’s Official AdPages.

6. How many projects do you advertise at the same time?
In order to keep the quality of the advertising campaigns as high as possible, we have made it our mission to promote only 8 projects at the same time. Another reason why we only promote 8 projects is, that we want to keep everything clear and try to prevent crypto enthusiasts to get overwhelmed by an enormous number of new projects.

7. I would like to advertise my project at your place, what do I need to do?
Just contact us via [email protected] or PrivateMessage. Give us all necessary information regarding your project (texts, graphics, links) and we will set up your advertising within 2-3 days. If there are any changes to your project in the course of time, please let us know so we can update all details as soon as possible.

PLEASE NOTE:
Requirements for the implementation of the advertising efforts are certain skills in building, scripting and the use of multichannel-promotional tools across the entire grid of Second Life. All of this will be accompanied by ongoing costs such as the land fees for commercial land use, monthly payments for network marketing (grid-wide advertising) and weekly payments for the classified ad system to get listed on the Second Life’s Official AdPages.
