Looking again I got it wrong. I am thinking more like 0.00007

Stick to your guns... Dont change the price just because of a comment.

I wasn't commenting to insult him - just to make him aware his price was way off.  And he agreed with me.

I used to run an 80,000 user website when rates were $30CPM.  Needless to say the company went bankrupt in the dot com crash.

I know... But, these entrepreneurs need to go through the ups and downs of business and to "crack" so quickly due to a comment, doesnt show much backbone.
Your comment was spot on... His reply was transparent, which is a bit sad. But its a learning process and I hope he does well Smiley

You CANNOT get $30CPM today no matter how good your website is.  That's 3 cents per visitor.

Adsense doesn't pay usually CPM usually but CPC but equivalent in RPM (as google call it) I have seen $30 before.

Personally I have seen RPM near this recently..

You can get maybe that much via Adsense at the moment if you have a good enough website and know what you are doing so advertisers are still paying well. The money people are wanting to pay for advertising via Bitcoins is soooo low at the moment compared to other forms of payment.

I worked it out wrong. My site is based on an idea I saw a while ago where new users are given 1 penny and bet against other players to win their penny. 23cents was obviously too high for that.

My new game will need to run from sponsors. So if each new player is funded by the sponsor, more players are likely to play

Was hopeing for 0.001 / 0.0005btc per unique

0.001btc per visitor is 21.3 cents or $213 per thousand views (CPM).

Unique content websites can get $1CPM.  Your website would probably get less that that.

unique to the website
Advertisers on sites like bitvisitor and coinad pay much less than that though. You'd need to have quite high quality traffic to attract sponsors who will pay that much.

It depends on the context of the ad; demographics, etc.

How much would you say is fair for each unique user that views your advert on a page?

This will be for one or two advertisers at a time only, and the user will see your ad in the middle of the screen for 5 seconds before being able to use the site.

The users will be real users, and you will only be charged for ones that actually use the site.

Thanks
