You will get possible a small premium over peel value for the 100btc bar.  At these prices (even though I hate saying it) is to peel it if you need the liquid bitcoin.  I personally just dont think it's worth the trouble and risk of getting a couple more bitcoin over peel.  My 2 satoshis on the hundo.

Until a legit auction house takes these on and it's a p2p trade only I believe it will stay this way.

I wonder if Elianite is still hooking up buyers and sellers of high priced coins/bars? Worth shooting him a PM at least?  Cheesy

There were only a couple of offers on this recent thread.  Some of which were below peel at the time.  I only see these being peeled little by little unless they are transferred between people who know each other.  I know I wouldn't take the chance on a flight and a meetup with a random from the interwebz.

@owlcatz- Thank you, I'll send him a message!

@wheelz1200 Interesting, I wonder why that post didn't appear in my searches. It answers a few of my questions. Thanks!

I have been involved in the bitcoin community for a while now, but for the interest of privacy I have created a new account to post this.

There is very little regarding sales of funded 100BTC Casascius bars, is there still interest in these or has the value risen so much that they are completely unaffordable? Are there users on here who help connect buyers with sellers, or is it all done via the public forums? What would be the current going rate for selling these items for BTC?

I really appreciate any help or advice that you can give. Most of the posts I have seen are very outdated at this point. Thanks!

There's always someone richer, so 100BTC bars certainly are not nor will ever be completely unaffordable. It's a small market though. Something like 50% of Americans can't make an unexpected $500 payment. And USA has the highest national net wealth. I digress.

There is no "going rate" because any public auction is few and far between. I believe around 2015 Casascius (Mike) helped a friend sell a 1000BTC coin, at the time around $2 million or so. Was a public post on Collectibles. This is all pure recall so details may be off by quite a bit. Someone else would need to confirm.

Easiest is to simply create an auction here. You would be better off using your original account with established history/reputation. It would also help to have a PGP signed custody history from Casascius (proving he sold the bar to you directly).

Thank you for the response. Fortunately I have my original emails with Mike saved, and made the purchase with my real name, so there is a good paper trail. It seems like setting up an auction will be the way to go, my only concern being that the tiny group who would be interested might not see it because they very well may not be actively looking. I'll keep looking at what people have done for the smaller denomination coins and plan on emulating that.

Agreed with everything here. Can you post pics of said bar please just while you’re doing your own research and information gathering? Would be nice to see what it is your selling in actual photo format. Thanks for the consideration.

make it a WTS thread for couple of weeks and change it to auction with minimum bid of loaded amount.. As we all know word travels fast, so whoever can afford it will def hear about it in the timeframe..
