With a modem reset does the connection resume?

Resetting, rebooting the modem doesn't correct the issue.

When the internet comes back, it just happens of it's own accord..

With a modem replacement I am assuming you have a cable ISP.  DOCSIS is a shared connection protocol which may have something to do with the interrupt.

Had the same problem recently.  Was not able to resolve the issue specifically, but it only lasted a few weeks.

I am having problems with my internet connectivity for the last month.

The connection issue is happening between the modem and the internet.

Spent a LOT of time with the telco helpdesk...

They sent out a tech to the exchange (old exchange - known issues).

I trouble shooted my PC, etc etc....

The main observation I have made is that I lose internet connection at around 2am almost every day (does vary occasionally). When it goes down it is for many hours.

It appears to me to be cyclical so I thought it must be something electronic.

I bought a new modem, but it still went down at 2am last night.

I am going to ring the telco again but am hoping someone here might have some advice on what may be causing the issue.

TIA  Smiley
