I see you didn't edit the useless quote out of your post.

If you insist... Grin

When I see a full quote or image that I already read I simply scroll down, it does not bother me much, but I understand that some people are more keen on proper styling and cleanness. I´ll keep your tool in mind thanks.

You don't have to look through hundreds of posts in a hunt for the odd meritable one. I've actually broken ther scroll wheel on one mouse.

There is an associated problem, and this relates to members who make full quotes.

Excuse my question if it is too simple, but why would you want to avoid embedded images? If used properly they are just like any other tool, right?

There are many instance where images are beneficial. for example - statistical posts, a travel description, social posts, product descriptions, screen caps, and several others. The considerate poster will post a small image with a link to a larger image if required.

They clutter threads and make it hard to scan text quickly. They are often counter productive, as the fast reader may skip over the associated text, or put the poster on ignore. There is an associated problem, and this relates to members who make full quotes. Including the image in the quote bulks up the thread quite considerably. You should consider this, as I see you have made a completely redundant full quote of my original post, and this is immediately following the actual post. What a waste of readers time, bandwidth, and it shows a lack of consideration for the members reading the thread.

I've just set up the hosting for my image hosting service for members here....

I've just set up the hosting for my image hosting service for members here. I hope that by using URL references we can cut down on the number of embedded images in threads and quotes. The ( fairly unpopulated ) image index page is located here -
https://mobileimg.com/mypictures/

There are several options for linking. You can link to a page with a number of functions, including a slideshow, and an example is here -
https://mobileimg.com/mypictures/picture.php?/2/category/11

Or you can link directly to the image -
https://mobileimg.com/mypictures/_data/i/upload/2018/09/18/20180918045206-65d95fcb-me.jpg

I can also create more descriptive URLs for the images, but that introduces some restrictions.

Any comments would be appreciated. The site's primary aim is to help foreign language students in Fit to Talk, and to provoke political and economic discussions. The site is stilll in its formative stage, so there will be some customisation in the near future.
