Oh yes, forgot to thank you. Now i'm using Protonmail.
And actually there are news that now Protonmail officially accepting bitcoin! Super news!
They always accepted actually. The difference is that now you can buy through an automated system and don't need to send them an email to get your credits manually inserted.

Anyway, good choice Smiley

I use Protonmail. You can use them for free or pay for a subscription with Bitcoin.

They are based on Switzerland and they support privacy and end-to-end encryption.

I registered at protonmail.com but didnt find bitcoin, why?
They have a page teaching users on how to pay their subscription with Bitcoin[1]. It's not automatically, so you need to send the amount you want to deposit on your account to their address and send them a email with the transaction id and the value in USD/EUR.

Is country Switzerland say something about privacy?
You should definitely check the blog post "Why Switzerland?" by ProtonMail[2].

Switzerland however, is NOT part of the EU, and Switzerland applies a very different set of privacy laws. [...]

[...] This means that under Swiss law, ProtonMail cannot be compelled to backdoor our secure email system. As a Swiss company, ProtonMail also cannot be compelled to engage in bulk surveillance on behalf of US intelligence agencies.

Nice answer.
I compare protonmail and tutanota. And protonmail I like more, for example there is great option: instant messages which appears when mail is coming.

What about imap protocol? So at sites like protonmail I can't find imap. This because it not secure?

Top Crypto Casino
Tutanota is similar to protonmail with an encrypted inbox and emails as well can be
Mailpile is good for a self-hosted version

What do you mean by open source email service?
The script might be open source but there is no way in hell you are going to find out what they use one their servers.

As the user above, go for proton mail.
If it's just for private stuff not running a business the free plan is more than enough.
I don't think you're going to use it for sending DWG files or something like that.

The server used for hosting an email service is irrelevant with what the guy is asking. Open source means the code and documentation are open to the public
There are much businesses using protonmail right now with their own domain
