Quarter final winners are Best (P), Mind (T), Hero (Z) and JyJ (T).  They go to the semis next week which is gonna be on April 17 and 18 at 6:00pm KST.

First match will be Best vs Mind then Hero vs JyJ the next day.  My picks to go to the finals are Best and JyJ...

This season's Round of 16 and quarter finals were really great.  Tier B and C players were leveling up their game and were playing outside of the meta, surprising the A Tier guys.  None of the players in the semis are Tier A.  Wink

Anyway here's the updated bracket.

Round of 16 winners are in.  I lost some money in my lottery ticket but won a couple of singles with Light's Bo1 and Best's Bo1 in Group C.  If you guys know a little bit of the SC/ BW scene, Group C is the group of death.

Anyway here are the results.  The match ups for the quarter finals are in the OP.  I think the players who are performing really well are Jaedong, Best and JyJ.  The upsets of the group were Light, Bisu, Snow and Rush.

Group A for the Round of 16 starts in 55 minutes or so.  The first Bo1 matches will be between Royal (T) vs Shine (Z) and Jaedong (Z) vs Action (Z) then the rest of the matches will proceed from there.

Jaedong vs Action should be good and fast paced...  The line for the match is a coin flip but I think Jaedong will tilt mid match and make a couple of wrong decisions.  Lol.  Not that confident tho.  I heard he's been practicing online a lot.

Here's my lottery ticket.

Zero - Bisu
Add:  Rush - Hero
Add:  Royal
Add:  Action - Soulkey
Add:  Light

Won my parlay to break even and Round of 24 is done.  It has really been a fun one with unpredicable results.  I think it's due to these players are getting a little bit older now.  Their reflexes could be getting slower.  And if you played SC/BW, you know hand speed and APM matters as much as strats and meta.  This game isn't slow like Dota or League of Legends.  It's a couple of levels higher on the mechical skill side and the strat side.  IMHO.

Anyway, here are the guys who went through for Round of 16.

As you guys may have already noticed, this guy Soma is my pie shtter of the Round of 24.  If you follow the ASL long enough he's been a consistent figure in the Round of 16, so I really don't know what happened to him in his Ro24.  One thing noticeable about him tho is he got really fat.  Not sure how that translates in playing an RTS game.  Cheesy  Maybe mentally it does.  Lol.

Anyway to get my money back I parlayed Snow, Zero and Light.  Light the leg of the parlay is playing in around 30 minutes.  Leeezzgooo!

Group B was yesterday and I lost my tier 4 and tier 5 tickets because of one guy who decided he wasn't gonna play well that day.  Sharp didn't show any interest at all and it felt like he threw the game.  There was some shenanigans in the SC/BW pro scene when a couple of players were caught fixing matches back in the day.  Wouldn't totally be surprised if it happened again.  :/

Anyway, here are the results for Group B...

Group C tomorrow.  If Soma wins, I win my tier 1 ticket and break even.

^  It was the only RTS game I played as a kid.  Smiley  I was addicted.  Lol.  I have cousins who are a couple of years older than me who were really into it too.  I watched them play online a lot and learned their build orders, strategy and other stuff.

They're actually using SC Remastered since it came out.  And in a Bo1 format for the early rounds, the underdog has a chance to go thru to the Round of 16.  It's what makes it exciting.

Anyway, Group A is done.  Action and sSak are in the Round of 16.  Mini the guy in my top ticket is out but he won his first Bo1 for the group, so the lottery ticket is still alive...  On to the next one...  Group B will be tomorrow at 6:00pm KST.

lol. I know you from mix martial arts topics, but never thought that you are old school rts fan Cheesy This brings good memories of skipping classes, running home to play warcraft 2 on CRT monitors. I remember the day when I got Starcraft cd, how cool those marines looked in first mission Cheesy

Those Korean guys are crazy. The game is so old and they keep running tournaments. Specially on old version of the game, not remastered. Btw, there is a hint for those who wants to bet - always bet on a Korean player if he plays against someone from rest of the world, and never bet on an underdog in a match between two Koreans. Miracles never happen in such game. All the strategies and counterstrategies are already invented. These robots never fail at micro and macro. Underdog never wins.

Group A is gonna start in around 1.5 hours or so!  You guys can watch the English stream here...

https://play.afreecatv.com/dth03119/

If you guys want the Korean stream, I do, I got the link above in the OP.  Enjoy...

So far only sportsbet.io has a betting market for the tourney.  Hopefully we see more books get in the action as we go to the next rounds in a couple of weeks.

My updated lottery ticket is above.  Got my bets locked and ready.  Just made small bets but I'm  ore nervous about the ASL than the UFC or the EPL.  Lol.

ASL 15 starts tomorrow with Group A of Round of 24 with Mini vs Hiya and Action vs sSak!  Sportsbet was the only known book in crypto that has a betting market for Starcraft/Broodwar rn, a very ooold RTS game.

https://sportsbet.io/sports/esports-betting

So stoked that Steve went thru with his word.  Smiley

Anyway here's my lottery ticket for the round.

Mini - Soma 1.86
Add:  Zero - Bisu - Best 4.35
Add:  Light - Snow - Shine 11.84
Add:  Sharp - Jaedong  - Action 45.2
Add:  JyJ 126.55

Haven't made the bet yet.  Action va Hiya doesn't have a market but will prolly add Action at my fourth ticket if it's on.  I'll have to go with the one above if it doesn't.

Edit:  Lottery ticket updated.
