African are resourceful just that they can not manage what they have. From the part of were I cam from we have people that are completely not depending on government or aid from international community but produce what their eat and were their live. However, if you go to the oil community, most of them are completely dependent on aid from international community because they are very lazy and not ready to do little thing to take care of themselves.

humans will never be able to manage what they have, its called distribution conflict, those in power will alwaysfind others who help them discriminate others and abuse them as labour slaves

I am African woman myself from a rural area in my region where the mostly see women biggest goal in life is getting married but through all the hurdles thrown at me I turned it into energy saw my self through schooling without giving in into unnecessary begging, or selling myself out I rather seek knowledge I was always here and there in one function/small scale investment program  or the other right now I own a little school of my own and am into cryptocurrency and it's at least sufficient for me

Now back to the matter for so long the international world has aided Africa and the big questions are will this continue for eternity? And is this making African less self reliant.

Africa is a very much a blessed continent truth be told early civilization started in Africa (Egypt) but the current developed countries took and made good use of there resources and are enjoying the fruit of there labour now.
Poverty, war, religious beliefs, bad government, low standard of living and the list goes on are plagues that are afflicting the continent. Aids has been made to at least help by the outside world.
But I would say rather than giving us cake teach us how to bake. It's time Africans stop getting baby sitted  and start getting resourceful. No matter how little get working. It all start with changing ones mind set. Think positive then back it up with hard work and am very positive those giving aid would be very much interested into driving the aid into very good entrepreneur ideas.

I quite agree a lot with the later part of your write up, determination, hard work and positive mindset can take you anywhere in life.

Let not forget the issue I raised in this thread which is all about Africans as an individual to get themselves motivated and stop depending on the easy way out or depending on aids. I do know there are issues afflicting Africans and this issues are very severe but that should not be an excuse to at least be self reliant.
And the foreign world has played there part in rendering aids but from the looks of it this goes beyond that. The corrupt politicians in Africa is something the world needs to look into because on the long run the effects can be felt every where with African youth engaging them self into underworld activities like internet fraud, drug peddling in various part of the world and so much more vices because of the hard conditions of the country.
And Africans that had expanded there horizons in other country's can come back and invest in Africa there by creating jobs.

I'd ignore the mention of Egypt being the oldest civilization since that's irrelevant to the topic and Westerners plundering Africa, since that came WAY later, even later than the colonization of Southeast Asia and Latin America, the former doing way better by comparison.

Your problem are your politicians. People there in Africa can be resourceful, otherwise they wouldn't have survived considering governments there don't even bother providing the necessities. You also need secure property rights.

I think another issue that have to be resolved are the ethnic conflicts. Almost impossible but the borders have to be redrawn. Just look at those suspiciously straight lines in the map.

Think of a scenario like this - You're someone that makes shoes in an African country, this is your business and your livelihood as of right now. You're currently growing your business, and hire more employees, buy more materials, and buy some machines to lower future costs with a current investment.

Exactly. Charity is detrimental to Africa in many ways. First is the effect on entrepreneurship you've mentioned. The other one is that it prevents regime change. Left to their own, these people would have probably already thrown out their corrupt officials out of hunger and desperation. Foreign aid give them just enough to survive and allow the regimes to spend even LESS money on the people.

Less money spent on people, more money to plunder.

westerners aren't plundering africa, its not the wests problem that the ressources in africa are not valuable, if africans dont want to sell their ressources they will be bought somewhere else, the arktic has a lot of ressources and there are no natives that are pretending to own everything especially things thausands of meters underground

Exactly, people forget to notice the fungibility of money and that the leaders of these nations now don't have to spend the amount of money that charities and other governments contribute. Instead, they can use this on their own projects, corruption, and so on and so forth.

So now, instead of spending double on whatever they were spending on their people, public projects, and so on and so forth -- Now they're just able to keep business as usual because of other countries contributions in regard to the amount of money spent on their people.

Then they take the rest and pocket it. What a sham.

I wouldn't blame Africans for this though, I personally think I would blame charitable groups from stopping innovation from occurring due to their charitable efforts (which they don't even understand why they're detrimental)

Think of a scenario like this - You're someone that makes shoes in an African country, this is your business and your livelihood as of right now. You're currently growing your business, and hire more employees, buy more materials, and buy some machines to lower future costs with a current investment.

Then a charitable organization comes in armed with money from Western countries to 'save the Africans' and they donate millions of shoes to this country. Boom, you're out of business now and you've lost your livelihood.

This happens time and time again when charity groups 'help' and then people don't develop their own markets.

This is a great mind to have. This thinking should be done by anyone who actually wants to help get into a better situation. There is one thing that carries through time, and that is hard work = big reward. It is one thing to get the knowledge, but then to apply it is key. The biggest resource of any country is the people in it. It is a great first step to educate the people, but then the people have to work together to achieve the big things that really make a difference. Now with the internet there is endless good information to learn how to do many things like gathering resources or learning a skill. Thanks for sharing.
