Multiple answers would be great. Or at least the option of having both, own hardware and cloud mining.

For the calculators: They are all just guessing. Due to the nature of difficulty adjustment you cant exactly say how much coins you will earn. But you sure must pick a calculator where difficulty jumps are included and adjustable.

we're trying to figure out the connection between btc price, difficulties and other factors

After I study a case study in entry level mining,
I believe, many users like me, has a lot of questions and also excitement  Grin
