Hi,

I have a RIG on MSI Z170A Carbon MB with 6 GPU GTX1070 and 1 GPU GTX1080Ti,
all worked fine, when for some reason there is a power loss after reboot I can't see
just 4 GPU on Windows 10.

If I reboot the RIG same situation, in order to fix this problem I have to shutdown the
Windows and then start again and all GPU come back.

There is a windows command to rescan the PCI-e bus and made discover the GPU on
Windows ?

Do you know why ? I can't manage this situation remotely because I have to stop the
RIG and the start it again manually from power button.

Anyone had the same problem and have solve it ?

Thanks

Try running five VGA or four VGA if still restart for 30 minutes ahead, if again reboot there is a possibility of riser cable is broken or possibility PSU problem. Check electricity and cabling. It is necessary for mining if problems occur in mining machine.
I hope there is no problem that happened in electrified and cabling. I will pray that it will not happen.

Here's an idea: on my motherboard (Asus B250 Prime) I have Fast Boot enabled, except after a power loss where I have normal boot. When I turn off my PSU I believe I simulate a power loss, therefore normal boot.
So normal boot = detects all GPUs.

So I simply disabled fast boot. I'll see if this consistently fixes this bug.

Yes I use 2 PSU a Corsair 750W and an HP DPS-1200FB so the total power available is 1950W while the max power usage when all GPU are working is about 1000W

Gotya, so that's the culprit, I wonder how did you do your setup.

Seems that 1200w could already handle your whole system, but needs a bit underclock, you may save 1 psu.

Bookmarking this thread. I have exactly the same problem. Also using 2 PSU with 1 GPU on each PSU. Sometimes both GPU are detected, sometimes only 1.
Physically turning off and on the master PSU always does the trick that windows finds all my GPU.
I would certainly like to know a method that guarantees that all my GPUs appear.

I thought it was linked with a BIOS setting but after having tried most options I'm not so sure anymore.

Have you tried a normal restart already? I was in the same situation. Nearly every restart caused that some GPU wasn't detected. With another restart they came back. After losing a ton of money with this shit, i have installed Ubuntu. No such problems anymore.

I think this is good idea !!!

Are the ghost GPUs on one of your PSUs?

Try in Windows device manager, then Scan hardware changes.

Doesn't work !!!

do you use 2 psu's? what's the power rating?

If it happen that you use 2 psu's, chances are 1 PSU doesn't fully synch with the other GPU's connected to the motherboard.

Was this restard as a result of a windows update? These god damn windows updates. They kill my rig once every month, and there is no way to turn them off. Ive got them turned off, and they restart my computer anyway. I should sue microsoft for loss of income  Grin Grin

In Windows 10 there is an opportunity in settings to return to the previous version. Try this feature. After Windows updates, new drivers are installed. Maybe they conflict with your GPU. It can be especially with the GPU which has been upgraded the BIOS. I've had such problems, too. I disabled the update feature and now I have no problem.
