I'm not lucky with the airdrops, payments went well if 20% of all the airdrops I filled out. Everyone decides to participate or not, but if you do not need to invest, why not participate?

Personally, we need to have five different categories of Airdrops.

FREE airdrops,
Bounty airdrops,
Donation Airdrops,
Fork drops,
and
PRIV airdrops.

FREE airdrops are the best kind of airdrops, all that is required is email verification after sign up.

Bounty airdrops are not "free coins", they are more like a job, where you have to advertise their company in order to get coins. So it's not really free if you have to work for it.
If a FREE airdrops offers free coins first, then an extra a bounty bonus if you do referalls, it is still a FREE airdrop. However in order to classify something as  Bounty airdrop, there has to be no free coin given unless you do the job first.

The third type of airdrop is the Donation airdrop. These are usually scams, requiring you to donate ether before they give you "free" coins. Of course they are not "free" since you will pay ether for them and probably they will never give you the coins you bought anyway.

Fork drops are pretty annoying, but different than Donation drops. For fork drops you need a certain balance in your wallet in order for you to get coins. Sometimes this is Ethereum, other times this is Bitcoin. Usually this means you have to dump some of your altcoins and trade it for ethereum in order to get the airdrop.
Now if a fork drop requires a balance of the same coin as the airdrop coin, then it is hybrid Donation-Fork drop. Some of these are pretty scammy meant to just get you to buy more of their coin. Others are legit. But either way its pretty annoying and manipulative.

PRIV airdrops are also annoying, for to get "free" coins you must give them your ID full name phone number and everything else. Its a psychological tactic to prey on your desperation of money. And then another psychological tactic they use is to say it's to keep money safe from "criminals" so you feel guilt about hiding your identity. When the truth is there are plenty of criminals so why would you risk giving your personal info and exposing yourself to some online criminal anyway.

In my opinion, airdrop give small amount of rewards but no need to invest. How do you join some bounty campaign, which give you more rewwards?

Air drops A Good Investment for 2018?
so, What do you think about its?
Please tell me, because I want to invest in air drops.

You don't invest in air drops, rather they are given to you if you meet the requirements (sometimes just an e-mail address is required, other times they'll have you perform tasks such as joining a slack or telegram etc. But never "invest" in an airdrop, that is for ICOs.

Upcoming Dragon coin/ICO say they're doing air drops into a random account every month. Is it worth (do people do this?) just buying a little and holding as an ongoing lottery ticket or is this something lots of people already do?

Also, do coins that do this do the choosing publicly (like the reddit millionairemaker) or do they just announce they've randomly deposited into an account? If not public, surely they can just deposit into one of their own accounts?

Can someone please give me a definitive explanation of what an airdrop is and how does the process work ?

Well airdrop is form of giving away free tokens just by putting your details in a form and submit to recieved the airdrop token. Some airdrop are successful while some are not, but no matter what is the outcome the best part of it is ,its all free.

Well, it's called airdrop for a reason. There are always different ways the token creator can look into for the distribution of tokens. The more unique it is, the higher possibility of them creating a hype or even starting the trend for a particular method.
Take telegram bots for example, it was a well thought method and it has become a popular trend now.
Airdrops is one of the ways on distributing coins which i do agree that it do somehow contribute on making such hype or awareness of coins existence. There are lots of distributions actually and the good thing here is that you can really earn those coins for free without the need on pulling out money from your savings or on your funds. Regarding on airdrops there is an specific board where those airdrops been announced which you can actually find it here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=238.0

There are other airdrops. For example, when you trade token on the certain exchange and receive a bonus airdrop token as the promotion.

Check OKEx exchange. They like doing it.

The purpose of airdrop is to attract popularity, and many people are not rewarded!
Yes thats how airdrop goes , airdrops is giving away free tokens to increase the popularity and to increase its community. Some participants not receiving rewards because they were too late to join.

Literally come from Air to Drop, it's fine to join on air drop since it's sounds like a bonus token even in Dragon Coin/ICO and other kind of token/alternative coins. Just continue to read carefully all the instruction and the forum of what token do you want to join. good luck mate!

Airdrop and bounty - it's an opportunity to get tokens for free, doing something about the company's conditions. This is something that is paid for advertising, if it's easier

The best thing about airdrops is they are giving away tokens for free. That tokens that they gave us will get to the point that the value will also get high so, It's better to hodl them for period of time and don't sell it right away. That's a good profit without investing.

For me, joining an airdrop is okay since you don't need to invest money in it. It always depends on you. You just have to fill up their forms and wait for a little time before you receive tokens from them. So it's a good thing, you won't lose anything but you can earn something.

I think it is free money that people could try and we just need to fill the forms like you said. I heard that from airdrops, sometimes the price is high so we can sell it and make money but I realize that all of airdrops will give us profit in short time but sometimes we need to wait until the price increase high.

It is a free distribuition "from the air" of coins, based on the assumption that the wider the user base, the higher the value of a coin.

Yes, and it is a way to distribute those token to reach a wide number of persons and soon to be investors.I like the idea and sometimes its like also an advertising fee for the token issuer.

It's not fair with such attitude ... Normally airdrop is a free token to be disbursed among the participated users. So it mean they sumed the total users that will take part of that program and they have to share it equally among the total numbers of participants. What I m seeing they are doing nowaday is not supporting.
Airdrops usually happen because of forks. When Bitcoin Cash (BCH) split from Bitcoin (BTC) in August 2017, Bitcoin holders received their BCH in an airdrop. Other times, companies use airdrops as a form of marketing. Stellar famously airdropped XLM tokens to BTC holders in an effort to spur interest in their company. They arrived in the amount of ~1000 XLM for every 1 BTC, which is worth around $800 USD today… not a bad payout for doing nothing.

Airdrops is one of the methods on where a new coins being distributed freely without the need of investing or the need of buying that token. Its not bad to join up such things and yes it is somehow be treated as a lottery but on fair chances since there were only two things do commonly happen with these coins which they do failed up or being successful which means if those coins accumulated by you on airdrops suddenly spiked up then it would be an easy profits for you but if not then its still fine since you didn't invest on.

Don't bother too much on this thing no matter which way they would do.We don't have any idea but its pretty sure they would distribute those coins on either ways. Its not actually a lottery ticket because not all coins do potentially rise up in future. Some of them might do but most of them do fail and die. The most important thing is that you do always follow updates on thread of that particular project.

Airdrop is enough to get free money ,no need to buy cause theres a possibility that it cannot go through because some devs leave the project when they already sell the tokens that they hold.
