AirBnb wants to watch all your moves? Really? But they don't even require any sort of ID when renting an apartment...  Here's some additional info on this matter - http://www.hotelyouwant.com/find-apartment-on-airbnb/. Hope it can clarify some things. Also, I think that partnership with Bitcoin is a great way to save people's time. It's very convenient.

I have browsed that link and I did not see any mentioned made of Bitcoin? Could you explain how you connected this to Bitcoin? Do you think they

want to use the Blockchain in some way to "track" your history? They could use the Blockchain to track all tx's where that was made from a

specific address, but that would not benefit them in any obvious way.  Huh

seems more like guy said above, they want to make ledger so they can record the movements of everyone that uses airbnb, rather than adopt btc or make their own coin.

Airbnb makes it very easy for people to move about cheaply with no records of movement, as i am sure most hosts on airbnb do not take any guests ID and report or record their stay like hotels must legally do.

Airbnb is not interested in Bitcoin or Airbnb own version of coin. However, they will use blockchain technology.
Okay I got it, thank you very much.

Anyone know how blockchain technology can be used in Airbnb case?

I am not too sure about airbnb as I have not tried it... but for ChangeTip, it was great when it first started but then many started too experience problem of blocked account or unable to withdraw tips. I once have about $35 tip and tried to withdraw but was rejected and account frozen. I emailed Changetip and they said I had too many accounts which is against their T&C- but I have only one!

Your country may be your worst enemy

Most awful partnership I could think of.
airbnb is an orwellian organization which keeps track for ever of all your moves, and taxes you. Does anyone thinks it's normal when renting an apartment in Paris or Berlin, to pay a fee to an American company?

The people who likes airbnb today are the children of the Germans who liked Adolf Hitler last century.

BTC was invented, OpenBazaar was invented, with the precise objective to screw, ruin, and destroy fascist organizations like airbnb, uber or ebay.

Good article, thanks for share.
This is a good news for the community when the bitcoin is adopted by mass, especially by the reputable company like Airbnb. Also it was good that more company get in to the cryptocurrency and give a chance for those who capibility in blockchain technology.

This would be a perfect partnership in getting the public more involved with bitcoin. As of right now they seem to be more open to letting strangers sleep in their beds than looking into a cryptocurrency that could actually help services go smoother.

Home-rental company Airbnb has “acqui-hired” the majority of the team behind ChangeCoin, a startup that runs a bitcoin-based micropayments service, according to four people with knowledge of the deal.

The alternative lodging site has been looking at a few bitcoin and blockchain startups, according to two sources, to study what the technology could do for its services. Companies like Uber and Airbnb are built on their ability to manage supply and demand, which could be aided by a powerful, open ledger system like blockchain.

Through a service called ChangeTip, ChangeCoin lets users send tiny amounts of money, or tips, over social networks including Twitter and Reddit. But Airbnb appears to only be interested in the talent behind the company: ChangeCoin is still shopping its intellectual property, sources said.
