Depends on the airdrop that you follow, I've followed some airdrop and for duration of time usually more than 1 week. But now many airdrop are scam and not as we expected.
The condition for airdrop is different from one another. Some airdrop is based on past snapshot so you cant do anything but wait. Some is based on incentive for token holders. So it is always better to go back to the dev that does airdrops.

Yeah that's right! they just announce when is the distribution of their airdrop token and if you are illegible for the airdrop and you can get token from them, just wait for it and it will come, anyway it is just free and no need to worry.

It depends, those coins are probably not listed on any exchange and they can not be runned with GAS, so if it is an ethereum's token you will have to wait some hours to see it reflected on your wallet or in your transaction history. but honestly, why are you going to be on an airdrop? it is not worth your time, you are probably going to receive those useless tokens who are probably not even going to be worth a dollar in a few months.
