Is it even worth participating in airdrops?
"I have participated in about 250 airdrops since February and so far only received about 30 that are worth only a few dollars".

Does that sound familiar to you? This certainly concerns many of you and therefore I would like to explain it to you in the best possible way:
Airdrops are a long term play. Most of them take about 3 months until the tokens are distributed.
In addition, some projects fail and the tokens are never distributed.
What I have also noticed in recent weeks is that significantly more projects than we initially suspected are fraudsters or fakes.

Quality over quantity
I know there are tens of Telegram channels, web sites, bitcointalk threads and others that post many airdrops a day.
But do you really believe that they are all legit?
will be successful?
will the tokens really pour out?
will be worth something?
I doubt this for the absolute majority of projects!

Are they worth it now?
To answer the question from my point of view: There are a few airdrops that are definitely worth it. A good example is the HYDRO airdrop. The 222,222 tokens have recently been distributed and are currently worth about $2000 , but I believe that 95% of all available airdrops are not worth it. Therefore you have to search for and concentrate on the remaining 5%, like Hydro!
Very unfortunately, it is only earn $30 to participate in 250 airdrops. This is incredible. The airdrops in 2018 were almost all scams. Shocked

Airdrops won't make anyone reach, I have participated also in several and got few $ valued tokens since then. It is better to find a good project and participate in their bounty campaigns.

Also guys, here is a great project , Swiss based with a neat concept and with a nice Bounty campaign on Bitcointalk.

Most of the airdrops nowadays are scam. Unlike before, airdrops will surely pay you but it's a lot more different now. The airdrops are just a waste of time because the percentage of not-paying airdrops is high rather than the percentage of paying airdrops.

airdrops are waste of time. very few are genuine.
Then you've hitted those few genuine airdrops that pays a decent amount of tokens in rare cases like those projects that were ended, we can admit most especially those airdrops hunters that some of them are scams, fail, abandoned and thefts but to miss those qualified projects that pay a decent amount is really frustrating, quality vs quantity? why not both of them for the application of finding those hidden gems.

For me it is a fortune because aidrop can help people also if they are consistent doing it. Airdrop is good also just be patient and you need to effort more to have an outcome. Airdrop helps me to earn while I have no work until now and I have decided not to work and just do airdrop, bounty and trading.

It is difficult to say for the reason of all airdrops in general, because I came across those that absolutely did not cost anything and a couple of really promising tokens. I think it all depends on your activity. Try to participate in a greater number of drops.

in my opinion at this time some airdrop is a hoax so far I have not gained anything from airdrop, unlike last year which is perfectly legitimate to enjoy, unlike now it is very difficult to get one coin from the airdrop.

airdrop from an ico or airdrop without any clear project or dev? if it's from ico they use to attract people to join their community, if it's airdrop without any clear dev then it sure it's a scam. some time ago a lot of airdrop that comes mostly from it is a scam and just looking for profit with dump with supllay left on them.

Airdops are in fact one of the most advanced opportunities in order to avoid regulation and also not to collect frankly the money, I think that this is the most honest way, but not in the situation as it is now on the market, because right now this frank scam

Guys, you all have to check every airdrop out, like investor have to do that before supporting every ICO. Honest airdrops have rules which tell you when you receive tokens, what conditions have to be completed (often not only your activity, but for example reaching softcap out) and what they require from you. The scams are these ones which have no rules, have dishonest rules (big activity for small prize) or their rules pretend their honesty and there is no intention to sent the tokens.

I keep thinking that why this concept is even their and who first brought it here that is another big ambiguity. They are perfect example of scam projects. Airdrop doesn't make sense in the marketing strategies and they dont even get good publicity by that way. What they get is just another biggest dump of their tokens as they give away it free. We know very well that it could lead to project funds go down by 8-10% as they spend that much on airdrops.

The issue is not with the airdrops fund allocation, but issue is with marketing strategy that doesn't work at all! Later if it worsen then it affects the project indirectly.

Anyway only trust those airdrops who coin is listed on the market and they are in proper position.

Most of the airdrops are scam, you never know until there is a review about the airdrop you want to join, but it is hard to figure if it is a scam or not, some airdrops are goo in encouraging, that is why there are many who join airdrops they do not know that they are joining a scam airdrop and some airdrops want to earn. They are the only one who will earn. The one who join will not gain profit.

Somehow airdrops are legit and maybe a fortune. Airdrops is literally to be a fortune if you successfully joined/registered on that airdrop, airdrops are limited and we need to get those slots in time so be wise and quick to join, fortune will give earnings even if it just little Smiley

I'm not too interested in airdrop, except in the project there is bounty. I just think realistically, want to make a lot of money, then have to try extra. I have never really gotten a legit airdrop in ICO. I now think that airdrop is really garbage. The airdrop that I can really enjoy is the airdrop market of old coins.

It's not that big of a fortune but one thing is for sure. It's not a scam. Youbwill definitely know a scam when you see one. And airdrops mostly only involve your wallet address in participating and usernames in other social media. No passwords involve or any other personal informations. So it can't be a scam.

You really think 95% airdrops are not worth ? You might just want to revise your number to 99% of the airdrops are not worth it. I mean come on buddy with airdrops you just earn few dollars and sometimes a dollar only and that too after waiting for at least 3 months minimum on any airdrop program that see in the bounty sections. You yourself have experience of 250 airdrops and you just got back 30 of them. That proves the whole thing buddy. Hydro is hype now a days but that opportunity comes once in a while and that too not guaranteed. Its just waste of time according to me.

I can't comment a lot for this because it based on the speculation. But there is a lot of possibility to be a scam airdrop. If we are trying to see about the majority of airdrop was a scam. And this why i will try to create a definition if there is only a little percentage worth airdrop.

I don't like airdrop i don't believe that airdrop is 100% scam i know that there's still airdrop project that totally exist but i don't want to join it because i'm afraid to scam. For now i just want to join in bounty campaign and to invest in good platform project.
if you say all 100% airdrop means a project that removes airdrop also you as a scam? you are very wrong to say so and if you want to avoid airdrop SCAM then join the airdrop that has bounty

Actually, I am very disappointed in airdrops that I registered and joined, even though I receive some tokens but I can not trade it because no one wants to buy it. And the rest is just a waste of time. Airdrops attracts only people besides of easy to register and you do not need to post or join any signature campaign before you received tokens. And I think some airdrops is one of the way you will scam. Based on shat I read they say some of airdrops is successful, well I think they are lucky to registered in that airdrop compare to me wasting may time for it.

Not all will be legit or crazy profitable and not all will be scams but it gives an opportunity to get a few coins to start off your wallet and attract more people

It's random and only heavy reading and research can help you tell which coins are worth your time

its hard to search a airdrop that in a future have value because some airdrop are convincing that their project is a good and has very good whitepaper but at the end is still scam if you want yo earn on airdrop u need to join as many as you can but you also to aware that some airdrops are just collecting some information.

I don't like airdrop i don't believe that airdrop is 100% scam i know that there's still airdrop project that totally exist but i don't want to join it because i'm afraid to scam. For now i just want to join in bounty campaign and to invest in good platform project.

It's a method to get a huge numbers on their Telegram and Twitter accounts, they have to attract people that way otherwise nobody would mention their project. I'm not participating in any airdrops but some people (mostly from poor countries) are making their living that way

Hello... How do we know if the airdrops are legit because as you said more are not. I also think that it is definitely hard to distinguishe the airdrops that we will have a decent payment at the end. Maybe to solve the problem take the risk to join and let's hope that it will be a good reward.

in my expirience in last year all my airdrops are legit because i earn lot of profit.
all coin that i receive are legit and i get profit every single coin i have.
but this 2018 all of my airdrops are scam and we need to pay a few eth to be able receive the coin that we are joining to.

I think a panel of senior members of Bitcoin Forum should be engaged in testing committee of all ICOs & airdrops leading to clarifying its potential success to all investors
