As far as I know air companies or agencies who booked them were among the first who were accepting bitcoin. I mean on online services. So, why not, if you have the possibility to pay with bitcoins do it and now when the price is high is very good moment because you can actualy save money. And even easier would be to use bitcoin debit card for payment, it's accepted everywhere.

Do you think paying your next plane tickets with Bitcoin a good idea?
For now i do not see any travel agencies accepting bitcoin so far, but this idea is good to happen and i think this is very near to happen in the future because this kind of services can adopt easily by all agencies if they seeing lots of people are now using bitcoin and if bitcoin was fully adopted in each country.

That is already happening around you and me. You need to check the site which is called cheapair. They are providing the option to buy the flight tickets since 2015 as my knowledge. Apart from that, there are some guys in the forum who provide the same option in marketplace section. You can use it.

Yes,it will be a great pleasure to buy flight tickets with bitcoins and fy in air just as we all have now started to fly in our lives with bitcoin. Its already there in Japan since japan has legalized bitcoin.Peach aviation limited was the first airlines in japan to accept bitcoin payments allowing customers to fly to other parts of asia.Soon we could expect this in other international airlines also but i think legalization of bitcoins would be needed in appropriate countries so that they could provide such facilities.

This is very good idea if every flight can booked using your bitcoin to avoid using credit card, also it is much safer.
This idea is really great seeing bitcoin would be used in booking flights and accommodation as well, I think it would happen if most of the country will accepts bitcoin and it will be legally adopted by the governments.
This is also great way to promote bitcoin to other people who do not know about bitcoin.

It is a good idea. Actually an airline in Japan is thinking of accepting bitcoin as payment for airplane flights. But as I have heard it was not yet implemented. But this kind of program is good and efficient and helpful to commuters and passengers since you can actually buy tickets online without going to banks but instantly using your bitcoins. It is very convenient since you do not need to go the bank or leave your house and pay for the ticket.

I seen this feature from the service offered by our local bitcoin exchange they allow us to buy tickets using our bitcoin from their wallets
and I love it since it will lessen my hassle buying it online or falling in line with the ticket establishment so hopefully it will be available
all over the globe.

You can pay for some travel-related expenses on Expedia.  Airfare is somewhat security related so I'm guessing it will take longer until you can easily get a ticket with btc.

It is already possible, just check out Cheapair.com or the travel agency, BTCTrip or the popular Expedia
If you like in Europe, you may try : Abitsky or Destinia and/or Fluege.com or Airbaltic. Bitcoin has been in the Air Fair business since 2014 already. ^smile^

Wow. The Bitcoin market is really growing into lots of different areas.

By the way, OP if you read this please change the title to "Air Fair" as that is the correct spelling.

Why not a good idea? That means bitcoin has gained another development in its use in the real world. That also means trust of the air flight industry. I guess there are already ticketing outlets that accept bitcoin. Sooner or later, the commercial flights themselves will be accepting BTC also.

I read an article about this before although I don't recall the airlines who will accept it (might be Japan or Korea). My answer is why not? I don't see any bad side for the traveler buying plain tickets with Bitcoin, the only downside I see to that is of course your Bitcoin address will be link to you as personal information is required when riding the plane specially the flights to other countries. If being linked with your Bitcoin address is non of your concern than you are good to go.

It's in Japan. Also you can always have a bitcoin address for these kind of transactions that will expose that you own this. You can still have a private Bitcoin address that can never be linked to you and there are a lot of mixers out there to make it happen.

Why not? What are you worried about exactly?

The only fear I'd have with that transaction is the fear of missing out on some future appreciation of the bitcoin used to buy the airfare.

It is an interesting idea if this is possible, but I have not heard of any airlines accepting bitcoin for air travel. If there are some entities accepting bitcoin for this, however, it might be interesting to compare the bitcoin prices against the prices listed in other currencies to see if paying in bitcoin would be relatively more or less expensive.
