Since nobody, really, came forward to celebrate Alan Turing's 100th Birthday the way I hope, I'm left with no choice but to stick it up everybody's arse (Oops!--poor word choice).

If Google is God enough to not let Turing's birthday pass--keeping him in the news--than I'm mortal enough to report here my findings.

Case in point:

In Honor Of Alan Turing, Linux Promoter Jon 'Maddog' Hall Comes Out Gay

Quote
Jon “Maddog” Hall has announced he is gay, saying he wanted to the 100th anniversary of Alan Turing's birthday.[sic]

Turing is the British mathematician who helped crack the German Enigma machine code – a triumph of computer science and a turning point for the Allies in World War II.

(reckon it turned out to be a good word choice)

Could be the start of a National Global TurnOut Day? (purposely spelled with a strikethrough n) A day when people in the math and science fields opt to come out of the closet.

So this is how we Bitcoiners felt about Alan Turing. So sad!

Hearing about Turing always makes me kinda sad a she committed suicide after being convicted by British law for being a homosexual (which was illegal in Great-Brittain at the time).

Think of the progress that could have been made by this brilliant man!

That said, imagine where the US would be today if Hoover were British.

The first of 100 BUMPS!

I think the best way to celebrate Alan Turing's birthday is to bump this thread 100 times today. What better way than bumping a thread to honor a man who, if were alive today, would have no problem finding a dinner partner to enjoy lunch at Meze Grill. (did I just compose a sentence using four question words, but the sentence required only a period, not a question mark?)

Who's bumping this thread next?

Heh. It was mostly a joke, but I'm gratified that you changed it. Smiley

Turing is not four!

He's 1100100.

I missed this in Binary 101 (or is it 110101?) because there was this cute blonde sitting in front of me. After a little poking, I finally got the student to turn around. He said to me, "What's you problem, dude?" Limp-dick here didn't recall anything else in that class that day. Thanks for the correction, myrkul. I fixed the title of this thread.

Post #11 starts the discussion of Global TurnOut Day.

How to solve it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84pbZSt_a9k

And if there's no mention of Alan Turing in the forthcoming June issue of Bitcoin Magazine, I'm wiping my ass with the first issue and sending it to Atlas.

Hint, Matthew.
