Steamtyme, far from it that I think you are BCH shill, but we all know who Roger Ver is and what has been going on for years on the site he owns, so it is therefore strange to me that someone in any way presents him as an honest person in any sense. If you look at his trust it is clear what this community thinks of him, so $10 and a response to PM is not something that can just erase all the bad things he has done and still does to all those who are with Bitcoin.

However, I find it positive that you want to pass on the reward to the OP - that means a lot more than what he did.
Clears it up. I was simply presenting what came my way. If I wasn't so against sharing anything from within a PM, I'm sure you'd get a laugh about the small message that was within. You could probably guess what it was.

Either way, yes his tactics haven't and will not change. I actually told a co-worker who is taking the crypto plunge soon, the tale of roger and his site.

Sorry for the misunderstanding.

So do we really need even more promotion of that fake Bitcoin than we already have through the domain in question here? I don’t know what kind of relationship you have with him, but $10 for that kind of information is a really ridiculous amount.

Did you ask him when he will stop promoting that shitcoin on his site as real Bitcoin, and thus deceive all those who really want to invest in Bitcoin?
I may have misread and interpreted what you wrote first off. I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt in that you aren't suggesting I'm some rando shill or something or that I took a 10$ kickback to promote the coin by simply openly and transparently letting OP know I would pass along the "reward".

I am nothing to Roger and I doubt he recalls the last time we spoke on forum, when I addressed the second part of your post. I was a newbie when his fork happened, and I was very clear about my feelings on the matter. Either way off-topic for here. I simply understand that he still cares about his account on this forum to some extent. So i figured if nothing else send a PM, I didn't expect a response but received one that seems to be an overall positive.

Either way as  I said I'll be in touch with OP, sometime next week.

Just dropping this here. I reached out to Roger last night and he responded to me in PM. He is going to be bringing this up with his Editor, to hopefully prevent this in the future.

OP

I'll reach out next week, and provide you with the 10$ in BCH that I was provided for bringing it to his attention. I would have already done it but I've never dealt with BCH so it'll take me a few days until I'm off work to access it and send it your way.

I will not surprise if they add a scam site link knowingly. Roger is the biggest liar ever in the crypto industry who makes a false claim. Even they confusing crypto users during buying Bitcoin from their wallet service. I have seen many cases that they tried to buy Bitcoin but ended up with buy BCH. We shouldn't trust where Roger is related.

Bitcoin.com like a lot of other news outlets run an affiliate service where arbitrary sites can pay bitcoin.com to run their ads on their site, ghostwrite "featured articles" about their product on bitcoin.com and put promotional offers at the bottom of each bitcoin.com post. And of course they don't check the affiliates that they aren't advertising scams in their ad slots.

It's the same method that 1xbit has been using to promote their site all over the internet even after they've been blacklisted from buying ad slots on bitcointalk.

Even if your website is using an ad network such as MellowAds you're still at risk of unknowingly advertising a scam site since they can bid for your site's ad slots at the highest price and you cannot reject ads from a single site/provider. That's how a bunch of otherwise innocent sites contain ads pointing to scam websites, damaging part of their reputation in the process. It's a shitty situation for webmasters trying to generate revenue.

Although Roger has an account on this forum, he is not very active after he was painted in red. So don't live in the delusion that something will change because you opened this thread - he just wants a profit, no matter what he has to do to get it.
But one of the many reasons members make scam accusations, warnings or alerts by opening the threads here is more than just expecting an immediate change on the websites or casinos. Some threads here act as future references and cautions whoever tries to do a web search about the website. So look at it as a long term warning or review and not just a thread created for a short term dispute settlement.

What else can you expect from this website that has nothing to do with Bitcoin, except the name and domain.
I don't think they have so much traffic with real visitors and they are just accepting any shitty ads that pay them for promotion.
Stay away from this and don't take them seriously.

Do you think Roger Ver have this level of responsibility?
I might be misunderstanding but, Roger is responsible for everything that site says and does. I know they are nothing more than another regurgitating "news" site but he still bears responsibility for poor internal practices.

I sent him a PM regardless. He came back last year because he noticed something happened to one of his old threads, it was a pretty funny overreaction at the time. He also still logs in as you can see by his last active date, so if nothing else this forum can still be a decent way to let him know where his site is falling short of what is expected.

I'll give him credit for that much at least, he still responds or reads what's going on in the nosebleeds.

Maybe after Report here they Remove it.

This only shows that the wrong domain in the wrong hands can do a lot of damage, but also that the internet is still a very free place where most can do whatever they want without major consequences.

However, the scam links have been removed, and if you see something similar again, you can report it via Chrome/Firefox as a deceptive site (click Help in browser options).

Roger Ver altogether with his Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin.com is one of the biggest frauds in the crypto space. Never trust anything bitcoin.com says. In fact never ever use it as a source of news, reviews or guides.

One of their most famous lie was that Bitcoin cash (BCH) is the real Bitcoin while Bitcoin (BTC) is called Bitcoin core and the bastards hard no shame at all.

Just recently notice that One Article of Big Giant Company who leads in crypto news Industry "Bitcoin DOT COM" Write Article About Crypto Hardware they mentioned machine like Bitmain , Whatsminer , canaan and Strongu. They write this article with mentioned link to Official Manufacturer.
This site may a big giant crypto news provider to them who don't know well about its owner. At least i am not gonna trust them with any news where they can publish anything selfmade. Well established and trusted news provider always try their best to provide news from authentic sources but this websites editors may have no time check links before finalising a news.

Actually providing real news is like a responsibility for trusted crypto related news providers because they jnow millions of crypto user follow their leads.

Do you think Roger Ver have this level of responsibility?

If i am not wrong then people only follow due to their domain and its a bad luck for crypto users that someone like Roger is the owner of this.

As already said, bitcoin-dot-com is not a fair and clean website hence using their news department as source of information is a mistake and a bad move.
Of course, with enough money invested and plenty of newbies not careful on what they read, this kind of sites can become "industry leaders" and "mistakes" (intentional or not) like the one from the topic can get in now and then.

So while it's nice to see this kind of problems are reported (at least here), my advice too is to also find better news sources.

You should know that this site is owned by one of the most hated characters in the crypto world (Roger Ver), who used that site and his influence to promote BitcoinCash (BCH) as real Bitcoin, and in a way he still does it today by confusing beginners who they often buy the other (cheaper) coin.

I can’t say for sure why that link is on their site, maybe it’s just someone’s recklessness to check what it’s really about, and maybe the scammer paid enough for the owner to close his eyes and allow such advertising. This site has long lost its reputation, but it has a very good ranking when it comes to search engine searches - I recommend you find another source of information.
