Good coins: MTC, HBZ, and etc
Most of these new coins are either just pump and dump scams or binded with viruses to steal your existing coins from the various altcoin and bitcoin wallets
I cant be bothered to disassemble and TCPView them all. Nevermind that *coin does legitimately connect to IRC so if any added functions were there you'd literally have to audit the source.

It dont matter if anything changes in a new coins, people will still bitch and whine and do their best to shoot them down.
There is a long and strong history (for cryptos existence timeline ..lol ) of keeping what we have strong and killing junk...
Litecoin sustained many 51% attacks by asshats like Luke-Jr and other BTC haters
I am all for the new coins if they can do any or all of these .... are real (i.e community)....move towards main streaming crypto....provides something the paypal visa and others cant
I understand as others have pointed out that time will look after this issue but it wont stop me from trying to point out to others that the above criteria is what is really needed for a coin (if the motives for the coin are pure)
Otherwise its just filling up the forum with a whole lot of noise ...
It reminds me of people selling timeshare ....

There is some good community discussion with Tacotime's netcoin.. might be one to watch..
No more new coins please unless they bring actual improvements/innovation.
A trend I see is that coins that don't innovate pop up faster and also die faster, compared to a few weeks ago.
I like mining something new and seeing if I can sell the new coin for more then what I can make mining LTC ( I need the money, from my day job alone it's hard to support a family ) but it's starting to feel really dirty.
Right now it usually still pays to mine the next CopypasteCoin and sell it as quickly as possible for about twice the LTC that's mineable at current difficulty. But you need a fool to buy it. That fool needs a greater fool to sell it too. These coins have no value and will be dumped ASAP.
The only reason some of these CopyPasteCoins still have some value is because some stubborn early adopters refuse to sell them for less. They create artificial demand with fake buy orders on googledocs exchange spreadsheets, create selfmoderated BS hype threads, and launch give-aways.
I suspect there is a small group of individuals that all have multiple accounts who's sole purpose it is to launch and hype these new coins. I'm not going to use names at the risk or wrongfully accusing anyone, but just ask yourself ; why are people trying to spread these obvious scam coins to as many people as possible ? Why are they pretending to have connections with exchanges ?

Exactly, we just need to wait 2 or 3 months.
On the one hand I think there are too many coins popping up with not enough innovation.. but on the other hand this might be how we eventually create innovation. And as was just said, it will probably take care of itself anyway..
Their should be a temporary stop to new alt coins.
bushstar, don't you see Feathercoin was just jumped on and driven as a speculative vehicle by the SAME people who went on to make all the subsequent profusion of clone coins. They just realized that they did not need to wait for folks like your self to create the vehicle for them, they could churn out their own vehicles as often as they liked.
This problem will take care of itself.
There are too many coins that are being put out there and abandoned just to run a quick pump-and-dump. It is sad to see so many people fall for them. I am looking forward to 0pticoin and MC2 which I regard an genuine entrants into crypto currency.
It used to be that when you launched a coin you had to work hard to gain reputation over time. When I launched Feathercoin I was completely surprised by the number of people who got on board, it was more than I ever expected. The attention it got was great and we have built a community out of it rapidly. The problem was that on top of the popularity, people were paying more and more to get hold of Feathercoin pushing it's price much higher than it should have gone. I was trying to buy 100K for 10BTC which I thought was a bargin for a new coin but was quoted 10 times that figure. I ended up buying half as much for 5 times the price.
I guess others saw this success and quickly replicated it to make a quick buck. There seems to be a lot of coins that have no future and I note that some of them seem to be made by the same people due to small mistakes that occur between releases. This is rapidly becoming less effective and these guys will have to try harder. Perhaps they'll eventually just try to make a really good coin that everyone wants, what a strange type of evolution that would be

I am on the forums a lot .... and have currently 100% committed to crypoto community both professionally and personally
Today in ALT i actually did not even recognize some of the names to the junk coins and thats with a period of less than a day not keeping upto date with ALT
It is really concerning me the release of all this rubbish coins....I am all for new blood but this total disregard for the meaning of building a coin or supporting a community seems a bit sad
I think all the new guys have really missed the point of what crypto can be...and the total short term (even instantaneous viewpoint) $$$ only approaqch is actually missing out on the mid and long term $$ that can be made or created
