All Time High can be achieved, take it easy, it only takes time, but we cannot predict whether it will be in 2020 or in 2021,
if you dare to hold long-term I'm sure you will not be disappointed

Yes, it will happen, no need to worry. Meanwhile, we should use this time to prepare for that time by earning more bitcoin that we can so when the time comes, we are ready to sell bitcoin at the highest price. The ATH will happen, no matter if that will happen in this year or next year but many of us cannot be patient to wait for that time. If we can hold as much bitcoin as we can, that will allow us to make a lot of money in the future.

I was thinking of another ATH next year 2021. But as the other members say, "we don't have that assurance", we are still predicting and that means it can be changed. No one could tell but we are just hoping to see it back then.

2021 was the earliest I thought we'd see a price CLOSE to ATH, but this was back in early 2018, now that we're here today, I'm wondering if we could even see a run for it this year, given how strong price has been despite all the signs saying otherwise.

Of course, all dependent on when the big shit hits the fan on the global economy. When that wave comes, and it will, Bitcoin will not be exempt.

We need to wait like a year to see the all time high after this halving.
Tend to agree with this, we will wait and see to it and of course, we should always be ready because I'm sure there will be a huge impact after halving. I doubt that there will be an all-time growth impact for this year, Bitcoin's price probably increases but not as what we are expecting. Because of halving the increase in Bitcoin's price will definitely continue pumping up just like what happened the first and second halving. (but I don't expect too much)

However, there might still be some dump along the way but as long as people would continue to adopting Bitcoin and more people will start to embrace the crypto sphere then rest assure the future of Bitcoin will be in a positive way. We can't still predict that there will be an ATH within the year because we know that countries are now starting to open their economy and people may go back to work but I'm positive that they will first prioritize their necessities before they start to invest again.

We need to wait like a year to see the all time high after this halving. Because it was what happened during the last halving. The ATH was on 2017 while the halving was on 2016. Of course, things are changed comparing to the second halving, for example the crisis. But I think just like the last halving. we should wait up to one year. and this means the year 2021

the price we cannot predict accurately, let alone predict about All Time High, if the price can survive above $ 10000 in 2020,
maybe we can see even higher in 2021, because the number of Bitcoin mined has also been increasingly difficult, and making Bitcoin supply limited, there is hope for next year  Smiley

This is a difficult question, and most people want to know that. however, we all expect the price of bitcoin to rise this year. however, the price development is quite slow. I speculate, if there is an increase in prices, then it might be under $ 20k, and not reach the new ATH. if the price of bitcoin reaches prices above $ 15k and under $ 20k this year, there is a possibility that new ATH can be achieved in the coming year.

Could be this year, or this month, or next year, or in the next 5 years. One thing's for sure in my opinion— it will reach all time highs sometime in the future. It's just that we don't have a magic crystal ball to predict when.

Yeah but on the contrary it could be earlier than we think. Since it’s a speculative talk I would say this could be next year (within April-May 2021). This is because of one strong reason of corona getting deprived from major countries.

It’s enough period for few Biotech giant like Serum India, Biocon and BiologicalE. In collaboration with Oxford university they are already leading few techs.

Now this has got to direct relationship with the bitcoin prices. Currently most of the people are focusing on day to day life and how to survive phase. This means no major investment into crypto market.

The market will recover with fresh start in 2021, the current year end would be just throw away phase for crypto.

I think we won't see new ATH until 2021, and I think it'll take until late 2022 to see the next peak.

I see rest of 2020 as grinding upwards gradually in pumps and dumps. Probably hitting over $15k at some point this year but not necessarily ending the year over $15k.

In 2021 I think it'll work its way up to $20k to see a new ATH the first half of the year, but there will be some selling from people who expect it to crash at $20k again so it'll stall out for a bit and bounce around $20k give or take a few thousand. By later in the year it'll be past $20k and FOMO will be starting.

By early 2022 I think we'll start getting into full blow bull run FOMO stage and it'll leap up by hundreds of percent over the course of half a year or so, peaking by early Fall and then the next crash starts.

That's quite specific.

I find it difficult to be sure of anything right now. The economic crash and unprecedented levels of money printing add a whole new element of uncertainty. No markets feel particularly rational.

From a technical standpoint, a lot hinges on breaking above $10.5K and to a lesser extent the June 2019 high in the $13,800s. After those resistances it's clear sailing. If $10.5K is broken soon then I could see a new ATH by year end. Otherwise I'm leaning towards 2021: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.54412627

Speculating is not bad but when we do it be sure to consider different factors in order for you to have higher odds that it will happen. I do not think that there will be a new all time high this year or next year because the global market is still recession where there is still panic. As long as their is no vaccine to coronavirus, I am sure that there will no all time that will happen.

The market is not yet in healthy state so expect a long consolidation, but if there will be huge breakout and massive volume in its major resistance around $10,000; expect a huge rally and it will be a good sign to see a possible multi year or even all time high.

If you asked me before this pandemic I would say maybe 2021 at the very earliest, maybe 2022 if ever. However the way most markets are going these days, I would say its very possible in might happen in 2020.

The markets right now are very erratic. Gold is making new highs, the NASDAQ 100 is pretty much near its ATH, the SP500 and DOW30 still are pumping and moving higher and higher everyday while the weekly unemployment claims are still rising, and the cases are still constant and not declining. Businesses are losing money, some are going bankrupt, etc, etc. Why is everything going up? Makes no sense.

Hence if I wake up one day and see BTC make a 20% gain, then another 20% gain, then another and another, we should be at the ATH pretty much. So its not impossible and many people will need to buy assets like BTC due to the possible negative interest rates talk.

They both have a chance but it seems 2021 has a greater chance. It will take months before we feel the effect or see, just like before. The price is getting better even though we are currently having a pandemic but i'm not really confident on it. Idk, maybe because of the current situation and the possibility of second wave that could result into panic selling again. You know, people or crypto users rather, always connect the situation in our environment.

Halving is over but now everyone is waiting to see bitcoin go to All time high again. Many people say that it may touch a lot earlier to its ATH and we may not need to wait for December 2021.
So do you think that bitcoin will touch ATH in 2020 ?

No, I don't think so. But it is still very much possible. That happened in the past so it could also happen again within this year. But for now I think it won't. The effect of the halving has not yet fully sank in. There may still be dumping in the months to come within 2020. So the ATH is more possible to happen in 2021.

Overall, it may or may not happen in 2020 or 2021. But it will happen.

I don't know it will come or not, clearly I juat happy to do day trading because it has given me a consistent profit. I csn get profit per day in this market situation or it is arround one month before halving and until now. The current situation is suitable for day trading (it may I just new to trade) and I really enjoying it.

You may need to do so instead of you just hopr bitcoin price increase and reach new all time high it is really useless. Bitcoin price is unpredictable, I give an example for it. I hope you still remember when bitcoin price touched $20.000 it is an all timr high for bitcoin until now and it was happened 2017 ago. There are a lot of people who predict that bitcoin will touch another all time high like $100.000 but in fact bitcoin price just fell to its all time low $3500 at 2018, a few time bitcoin price decreased.

If I were to choose between the two, it'd be 2021 and not 2020. If we were to just compare it with how the past halvings went, it needed at least a minimum of half a year to a year before showing it's effects on the market side of BTC. But if I were to freely choose the year, then it's honestly hard to say. I'm more trusting of basing it in past data which as seen, 1 year after the halvings, the market always goes up but there are different circumstances then and now after all. It'd be in any year after this year, but just not this year, that I think I can be confident of.

Right now we can't feel the economic damage on it's max that coronavirus has done on global economy, so I wouldn't predict anything with confidence right now. If situation was like in past, then possibly we would sudden increase in price and all-time high before winter because the previous halving was a pure example and demonstration of what kind of positive impact halving can have on bitcoin's price but right now it's a thing of debate. If we look at bitcoin's current situation, it's going far better than expected but will this continue for a long time? That's hard to say, right now there is 50/50 chance on it. If price rise happens, without doubt it won't be right now but possible in winter. On another hand, if economic situation goes worse, then idk.

In fact no one knows exactly when it will happen. It depends entirely on the market. It is possible that Bitcoin will cross Ath this year and it may not be able to do so in the next five years. There can be both. Now if I give my personal opinion then I will choose 2021. Because if we look at the history of the last bull market, we can see that the bull market started a year after bitcoin halving.

We are already half-way before reaching the previous ATH levels but doesnt mean that we would touch it anytime soon specially to this year.Unless if there would be some rallies that might happen along the way then we can possibly reach it up in no time but i wont really prefer on seeing those kind of events yet most likely there would be an another hard correction after that. Why we cant just wait and love to see some gradual phase movement
on btc's price rather than seeing long green candles on a single day or few days? No one can precisely predict on what would happen ahead the thing here now is that we should be wise on accumulating coins while
its still cheap and do actively trade with the waves which would generate possible profits in short time.

I can only speculate it because this Covid19 ruined many of my expectations. But I assume another bull run may come within the first half of 2021 but that doesn’t indicate the all-time high for Bitcoin price. I want to play safe to see that, so, I set my mind to see the Bitcoin price at 20-25K USD within December 2021!

Unfortunately due to the pandemic we have to expect some problems , people are struggling with financial issues but the good thing is Bitcoins is not going down even because of that . That is because there are people who are looking for alternatives and Bitcoins is an amazing thing , it is proving to be very efficient therefore the negatives are being balanced by the positives . But what we can say right now is that after a while in 2021 situation will be better and therefore we can expect the price to increase tremendously.
Therefore my dibs are on 2021

Looking forward to 2021

- Bitcoin has had a very volatile trading history since it was first created in 2009. The digital cryptocurrency has seen a lot of action in its fairly short life. Bitcoins initially traded for next to nothing. The first real price increase occurred in July 2010 when the valuation of a bitcoin went from around $0.0008 to $0.08 for a single coin. The currency has seen some major rallies and crashes since then.

In 2019, bitcoin saw a new resurgence in price and volume, rising in fits and bursts to around $10,000 by June. However, as history tends to repeat itself, by the end of the year, the price of bitcoin fell back down to around $7,000 and has been fluctuating since. In 2020, the high of bitcoin capped out at just under $10,000 and hit a low of about $5,000 with the market crash in March. It's been steadily recovering since.

- The price reached a peak of nearly $20,000 per bitcoin in late-2017 and has since fluctuated quite a bit, averaging at about $8,000 as of May 2020.

The price goes up after every BTC Halving. We know that. It takes some time for this to happen. So I guess we'll probably see an ATH in 2021.BTC

December 2017 was the last ATH. Yes, we can predict it for another year. And it is really good to be true to happen since during 2016 bitcoin halving, it took year before it reached the bitcoin's ATH. However, it doesn't necessarily mean that bitcoin will also rise after another year since halving last day. Maybe, we can experience in this year or it may take a couple of years before it breaks the new record.

New ATH is possible in 2020, we are currently in Q2 but the bitcoin is resisting to reach the $10k peak. Therefore, as in 2017, ATH will occur in the Q3 & Q4 of the year 2020. Well, this is only my opinion and there's a chance that the new ATH will occur in 2021 since the other markets aren't stable right now.

I have no idea and it is really hard to tell. I read a lot of guesses and predictions that this ath will happen by next year. But no one really knows what will happen. But right now, it seems impossible because bitcoin is still having a hard time to pass $10k.
It already reached the $10k peak last may 9, so definitely it will easily surpass $10k soon. Even though it takes longer, it is still possible, that's why it keeps pushing and resisting towards up.

No one really knows for sure, definitely we wanted to see new ATH but at what cost? We will go to another bubble and then follow by a massive dump? Much better to see the market goes on its natural course. And I doubt that we can see it this 2020. Still a long way to go before we can eventually hit all-time-high. Besides, we have to ask where the FOMO should come to get to at least $20k and then sustained it to see bitcoin even higher to breach ATH.

So do you think that bitcoin will touch ATH in 2020 ?

Everything can be possible to happen. Bitcoin can touch ATH in this year or next year, that will be up to bitcoin, and that will depend on the people who buy and sell bitcoin. But if the ATH can happen before December 2021 and it's happening on this year, then that will give happiness to us, especially for people who hold their bitcoin from a few years ago.

It's better to enjoy this moment and keep trying to buy bitcoin when the price is down so we will have a chance to sell bitcoin at a high price. I am sure many people still waiting for the ATH while they still buy more bitcoin before the price jump to the higher price, and they can be late to make a profit.

Possibilities are there always but we should be aware that there are certain factors that can contribute the bitcoins growth and for the current events happening I can see that these are never helping especially we are on halving season already, Maybe we can see a good pump in year 2021 and hopefully we can see a nearest price the same on 2017 halving but for now I agree with you let's enjoy the opportunity first given by the volatility of the bitcoins these days.

yes many people speculate good stuffs compare to bad stuffs when it comes to halving  .add in the fact that people are so excited to witness the result so they will just say that ath will come this year  .
Not all we want may happen just like this Halving as we can see nothing that gives us profit until now after almost a week of the even but of course we consider the pandemic thats why there is a delay in the effect.
Quote
some says next month or two.
Or it can take a year or more, nothing is certain and that's the fact.

i dont know the history of halving but still i wont believe that it was based on patterns.
halving reward is getting lower each time so that means miners won't feel it this time that much.

time now is different than before , many people now are joining crypto so im with those people that say halving will happen this year .

I also read that 2021 - 2022 will be great for crypto, some analysts predict another ATH, I think that is the right time for btc to shine, maybe  all the different good news that has been happening to btc will now reflect on price together with the halving expectations, so hopefully 2021 will be another great year like 2017, the economy will be on the process of recovery and things have gone back to normal.

Who knows when this ath will happen but we should not expect it to happen, because it is too soon yet. We should know that even if halving was done already, it will take time before we can feel its effect. I bet 2021 to 2022 before we can see the ath.

Not because it is halving there is a guaranteed surge for the price of Bitcoin, and this halving I think is not so bullish after all because there is a pandemic going on I think that is the case why there is not a sudden movement going up, pretty much because of many countries economic movement is in a halt, and the last ATH is because of an abnormal buying trend of many people,

I think we are still in a good price range and if this keeps up we might get the $10,000 USD in no time but there is no plausible answer yet until many countries are succumbing in a pandemic situation at the moment.

I think it is not,

Previous ATH takes a couple of months before it achieves new ATH. Just like in 2016, after the halving, the price of bitcoin does not spike after a month or so. Previous ATH happened last December 2017, it means it took a year before it achieves new ATH. If history will repeat itself, maybe the expected new ATH will happen this coming 2021.

The odds of it happening in 2020 seem very low to me and I never expected it to happen. 2021 would be great but who knows? There's a lot of weirdness and damage to play out yet. I'll stay put and see what occurs.

That weirdness could possibly work the other way too of course. If enough people decide Bitcoin is going to be their vote with their feet against the existing system it could get rather intense rather quickly.

Halving is over but now everyone is waiting to see bitcoin go to All time high again. Many people say that it may touch a lot earlier to its ATH and we may not need to wait for December 2021.
So do you think that bitcoin will touch ATH in 2020 ?

Don't expect to see something great the same on what happen on year 2017 since we have different situation but maybe we can feel the real effect of halving in year 2021 since this is a clear year and for sure the trust of people  will comeback since many will recover  from economical loss due to the pandemic happening for this year. But don't expect for $20,000 ATH since maybe the figures that will came out maybe not the same on that year.

yes many people speculate good stuffs compare to bad stuffs when it comes to halving  .add in the fact that people are so excited to witness the result so they will just say that ath will come this year  .

some says next month or two.  i dont know the history of halving but still i wont believe that it was based on patterns. time now is different than before , many people now are joining crypto so im with those people that say halving will happen this year .

Nope not everyone are looking for all time high like you because we have learned our lesson and we rather expect enough than huge profit for our own safe investments.

2020 halving goes together with the biggest crisis world has ever known since the world war II so we must consider the effect of this for the crypto market.
So for me?there will be a ATH but not this year, possibly next year but as what i said expect enough only and don’t push to hard by expectations.

We could an ATH in 2020 but I think it’s more likely in 2021, I think it takes a while for the halving to take full effect so we might have to wait a while.

Zoom out. The length of days between the halving day, and a new ATH for Bitcoin is taking longer and longer. So, the the probability for another ATH should happen on 2022 in my opinion.

Just think ahead to 2021 onwards. That's what the majority is thinking of but it's all rumors and nothing to be accepted as the exact thing to happen.
We're all speculating and no way to know what will be the exact situation that bitcoin will be in this year or for the next consecutive years to come.

There has been no other fundamental change to Bitcoin that warrants a new ATH

Halving should (in theory) sooner or later make the miners sell less Bitcoin on higher prices, because they now work more for much less coins.
Also FOMO rush is fueled by people's expectations (social engineering helps there) and a bit of market manipulation here and there.
Technological advancement would be a big plus, but a new bubble can easily start without that too.

The problem is that the more the people expect/want/push towards a big price increase, the more the chance it'll be just another bubble, which, when it'll pop, will leave even more people with a grudge against Bitcoin.

PS. My vote goes now for 2021 too.

Could be this year, or this month, or next year, or in the next 5 years. One thing's for sure in my opinion— it will reach all time highs sometime in the future. It's just that we don't have a magic crystal ball to predict when.

Who are these people who are waiting for an ATH? What is the reason that there'll be an ATH. The last one was due to unprecedented interest in crypto overall and millions of newbies buying BTC to convert it to ETH to buy ICO tokens and then convert them back to BTC again when things pumped.

There has been no other fundamental change to Bitcoin that warrants a new ATH. Halving historically leads to FOMO but most of the market has factored in that novelty now. Plus, Halving from 50 to 25 or 25 to 12.5 may seem a big deal. 12.5 to 6.25?? not so much. Frankly, i don't expect an ATH till something fundamentally changes in terms of institutions and businesses using bitcoin. Sadly, matters have been quite subdued on that end for a long time. LN has been waiting for adoption and completion for a pretty long time. Things to watch out for:
1. Implementation of Schnorr sig and taproot making multisig much more efficient.
2. LN maturing enough with significant and easy merchant uptake as well as consumer usage.
3. More academic interest in bitcoin specific smart-contracting initiatives like Simplicity, Drivechains or even Rootstock
