Let's be sincere to ourselves, no altcoins or shit coins are worth investing on and holding for the lenghty period you were saying. Most of these altcoins are one season wonders and they will vanish with your funds before you know it. Sometimes ask yourself why is it that established men and women in this industry always clamours that the only coin worth investing on is bitcoin. Do some investors actually ask this question? The reason behind this is the fact that bitcoin is the only coin that has stayed over a decade and has it is not controlled by any centralized authority that can rug pull it. Also bitcoin has over the years demonstrated that even it goes down in price, with time it will always go back up. None of these altcoins or shitcoins has the qualities that bitcoin has, so at any time you want to invest always chose bitcoin because it is the only coin that worth your money.

I think it is always good to make research about every investment you are going into in cryptocurrency, it is not all the altcoins that have the potential of bringing profit. In the crypto space, its wrong to make investment without making proper research especially when you are buying an altcoin. The research will be the one to guide you in other not to make wrong investment. Investment without research make your investment just like a gambling.

It's absolutely crazy for any crypto enthusiast to actually finalize on investing in any coins without him or her properly making a thorough check on the coin because when you talk about the vastness of the crypto space well I believe it's just quite unreasonable for any person not to check on any coin before making or taking a decision about a particular coin. you said the right thing, if you have money and you don't use the money properly it might put you in a bad situation, I have always believed that money has it own spirit and when you are not using it to do something that will add quality things to you it might put you in a mess. In most situations, getting too much money might not be the problem, the problems is can you make quality decisions with the kind of money you have. Controlling millions of naira is not hard, then controlling millions of dollars can be very hard for someone that doesn't know how to control money.
However you are correct, and IMO trying to acquire greater wealth you must also get ready for the troubles ahead because making the money might not be a problem to you but when the money finally comes it will bring more problems to you, that's why these days rich people always have their own health issues such as B.P and the cause of these is when you are too stressed out.

That Is good for you. We alway preach about shitcoin that has no value and how they have ruined people's investment, but I see that it's still a temptation or suicidal attempt to hit jackpot in on an unrealistic dream. Thank God you remember to do some research before carrying out your investment and I must add to this story of yours about the possible bad idea of you wanting to hold that coins for a five year interval, well common man even if the coin was to be in a good shape, there is very tendency for the price to drop again although if you find a good coin then the risk you took would have good because that coin must have topped up maybe by even x10 or even x20 but I doubt you will find an altcoins that can be that much resilience to the bear season dump that eventually survive and pumps up again.

As Y3shot, talk, e for good if OP share di name of di coin wey im de talk about, so oda members go de better informed about am, especially fellow newbies, e no too good to raise topic about coin wey no make sense and you come hide di identity of dat coin. Anyway you make a wise decision to research am first before you put your money inside, odawise by now e for don be medicine after death, if you don buy before carrying out research. See this year na 2024, anything wey you know say go make you hustle backwards, try avoid am, even though say you be newbie in the crypto space, wetin you sopos do first as you come into the space na to seek knowledge first, because to me it's unthinkable say you go hold alt for five years, abi you no suffer for that money? I think it would have been best if you mention the name of the coin to also save some people from falling into the trap of investing into the wrong coin. Their are so many scam coin in the market, it is important for people to be careful when making decisions to invest in altcoins. Buying coin very cheap to invest should not be the reason why people must go for these altcoins. Their are still good reliable cryptocurrency that one can still invest and make profit by hodling.
