Another indicator of wider acceptance: PCMag is accepting only BTC and ZEC as their cryptocurrency payment options. 

ZEC jumped a few days ago because JP Morgan is hiring the ZEC team to use the technology. This caused it to double but they will not be using the coins. Some say it just made more people aware of the technology. 

ETH jumped 3x on Alphabay news and XMR jumped 6x. Now ZEC is the 4th buying/selling option.

I agree with the previous poster: XMR head honcho insisting that it's not intended to appreciate in value has made followers unhappy, but it seems the real off-putting thing was dissing ETH. 

In other good news for Zcash: ZEC's clone zclassic did an ETH-type split, but some say it has had the effect of being a pump and dump since the best way into get in the new one was to buy the old one "but we'll support both". 

ZEC ranks #13 in market cap.  It should rank #8 beside Monero which would require a doubling.  Serious alphabay users should want Zcash over Monero due to mathematically provable anonymity verses Monero's security by obfuscation. But Monero's only 2% of Alphabay.  The BTC merchants and buyers should want ZEC for speed (2.5 minute blocks). 

It is. It indicates wider acceptance of the currency. At the end of the day, it will contribute to additional demand.
Bitcoin being used in dark markets doesn't take the sheen of Bitcoin.

This is wonderful for all the poor people who bought Zscam at insane prices last November. They might be able to cut down their losses if they're still holding. This will also make ZEC price more stable in the long run. Excellent news for miners too.

I'm sure ZEC will go up next weeks. So I would suggest buying now, its pretty low at the moment.

Many Vendors had trouble when Bitcoin-transactions took a long time during price falling down. They always lost money. With ZCash it will be immediately so there is only small chance to loose money.
If you take a look at the alphabay market and watch how much orders the bigger vendors take at 1 single day, and how much money is circulating there u will be shocked!

I'm very confident that this will be #1 currency to trade on AB soon because of the fluctuations and also because both parties (buyers and vendors) don't need to use a tumbler/mixing service.

Good to have as many choices as possible. BTC, XMR, ETH and now ZEC.

Not sure how big a pump this can influence.

Wow. That's good news for the holders and miners Zcash.

U need to know that some time ago a big amount of BTCs were used for buying illegal things.

Alphabay is the biggest darknetmarket and there are millions floating around everyday.
I made huge profit years ago just reading that a big alphabay dealer is going to cashout btc.
so that maret has in fact a big influence in cryptocurrencies.
Alphabay even recommends to dealers now accepting zcash because of the fast transaction ... and therefore not a big risk of losing btc.

I really think that zcashwill pump soon because the dealers are pissed off of monero now.

2-3 years ago definitely, in 2017 I don't think so.
