vircurex might be interesting, but they've never shown much sign of life, with completely anemic volume on all coin.

Support @ btc-e told me in a pm that they'd be supporting PPC once it reached a 1mBTC exchange rate.

so about 4x where the price is now

Eventually I'd like to see TRC on an exchange, but not yet. It's trivial for people to add since it's entirely bitcoin with tiny changes. Just as secure. Just as stable.

Just as TRIVIAL as how it was "developed" and "released", right? lol  Grin Grin Grin

Yep. However, it's not so trivial to get people interested and behind it. Even Litecoin was lucky to strike at the right time. :-)

I still think there was much value in changing the hashing algorithm. Terracoin did not do this. Just change params, recompile, release. No premine also for LTC unlike TRC.

The only exchange I REALLY care to see add anything is Mt.Gox adding LTC/BTC-LTC/USD.
that would be really nice and then LTC becomes really silver (like BTC gold)  Wink

That would be the start of an LTC rally

anyway OP there's BTC-e, Vircurex, and BitParking, what more do you want?

PPC on BTC-e!  Grin Shocked Cheesy Wink Cool

I sent an email requesting ppc to btc-e.  Would like to see support for it.  It is a gamble to have to deal with all the work of adding and taking away an overnight "fad" currency.  PPC is still kind of shakey as to it living or dieing yet.

Why is BTC-e the only (big, notable) exchange brave enough to add other Alt-coins? What are the positives and negatives?

Wouldn't it make sense for exchanges such as CampBX, BitStamp, VirWox, etc, to add Alt-coins just to draw more traffic to their exchanges? They aren't even generating enough volume to begin with.

With the Alt-coin gold rush that is happening and profits over twice as much as mining bitcoin, more miners will need to exchange Alt-coins. They will need as many options as there are for bitcoin, imo.

Just some thoughts.

edit: BTC-e: Add PPC already. sheesh!  Grin

You forget vircurex which is a very good alt coin exchange and doesn't drop alts for no reason... btc-e is not the gold standard for alts, it's the gold standard for BTC/LTC exchanges only (NMC is irrelevant according to the "it's not a currency camp").... vircurex is the only real all inclusive alt coin exchange (that doesn't require you install anything or write an instruction manual to operate) and it's only limiting factor is the complexity that came with the flexibility they offered it's users.....

in all honesty I wish vircurex would simplify and create a common base currency which all others trade against so that they can remove a vast number of pairing options and greatly simplify their interface.  DVC actually might be a really good base for it since it is one of the most granular alts out there with an as expected considerably smaller price which makes things easier to convert to and from.

That would come only at the expense of being able to offer this level of simplicity:
