Some ICO's drop massively once they hit the exchange, and others grow massively. I would say part of it is how big their bounty campaign is, as most people from the bounty will be selling there coins ASAP.
Some project gets big drop not caused by the bounty but the development of the project itself, if the developers made a wrong way and that will eventually affect the market and make a big crash to the price of the token itself.

Some ICOs apply investment limit per person, that can stop some whales from dominating the coin supply, in addition, dump might bring more holders, not bad for long term vision.
And how do you think they are going to regulate the users? It is quite simple to spoof your ID or your location or your IP. Just a matter of time and even simpletons knows how to do that. The can make multiple IDs and invest more. So it's the same thing.

ICO token companies can enforce a a rule such as not dumping all of them. They should be enforce limit dumping in that way the crash does not happen all of a sudden. Limit dumping putting 10 % per day dump like stocks so retail guys like me would not get hurt with all our savings gone.
Steemit actually has something like that, where you can't withdraw all your coins and dump it. You can only withdraw a percentage of your coins  overtime. Same thing can be implemented in ICOs.

I know a guy who has participated in an ico, and the price droped more than 70% after the ico was over and it got listed on novaexchange at first. It is a mess, most icos falls after they get listed, because all those who were earning tokens from the bounties are now selling them, and this apply to those who bought at pre-ico.
But there is no way to control it, and i dont see this as a bad thing, good investors deserves to take their profits too.

One way to profit is to join presale whenever you can. Otherwise, join the whitelist then decide if the opportunity is rare then join as they will still be demand after listed, otherwise just spread out the risk across ICOs or take a long term view on good project

but if it will be real ! then ok but many times you have multiple accounts.
My firend knows personaly ICO (investor) that invest using 100+ fake IDs Cheesy...
there is no real solution to that everywhere you can have multiple accounts.
There is a lot less such people but I mean that this is not perfect solution eaither.

Most of coins after they appear at exchanges dumping. So even first bonuses not giving profit!
And now we have etherdelta and price very often is super cheap compare to ICO price.

It could have been a good thing if the trading of a coin would be halted at least for few hours after it rises or decreases by 10% as there will be no large excitement or panic on investors. But with the absence of any regulatory power and as the larger volume they trade, it would be more beneficial for exchanges. We won't be seeing it.

BIG Boys always are in advantage as they have all the leverage then the small investor or late entries like me.They get in early and get stake in ICO's and buy it out for dead cheap with lot of discounts.

They make the coin to crash when they dump after they make profits.

ICO token companies can enforce a a rule such as not dumping all of them. They should be enforce limit dumping in that way the crash does not happen all of a sudden. Limit dumping putting 10 % per day dump like stocks so retail guys like me would not get hurt with all our savings gone.

Also need to embed a safety hold in period that way they have stake on it rather then messing up the coin growth.

IF somebody invest on a coin they should own some stake of its growth rather than short term gains.

just a thought.
