Better to focus only on few projects which have a real potential beyond speculative hypes. It means memecoins should be discouraged, while projects which have support from influent technological sectors of the market should be taken into consideration.

Diversification in this case means quantity, while specialization means quality. And between both, quality is desirable. Quality brings better results on long term, although you have to be patient until seeing progress. Meanwhile, quantity may bring positive short term results, but its consistency is too unstable along the time, what means higher risks and uncertainities.

You don't need a large variety of cryptos to profit from this industry. Remember there are investors investing solely in Bitcoin, what doesn't prevent them from making huge profit.

Focusing on a few solid projects with real potential is a smarter approach. Memecoins can be tempting for quick gains but they often lack long-term stability. The quality over quantity tends to pay off in the long run especially if you have the patience to wait for progress. Diversifying too much can increase risk while concentrating on the most promising projects can help minimize uncertainty.

What folks seem to be saying above seems basically to be do specialised diversification.

Blind blanket diversity is what the folks mass-creating "shitcoins" do, they'd love you to diversify into each and every scam they perpetrate.

So first you should eliminate all the crap, specialise in things that will really make a difference or that are small enough compared to the scale of your own operations that you yourself almost single-handedly can yourself make a difference.

If you can find a diverse selection of such specialised things, diversify among them.

Specializing in quality over quantity makes sense especially since quality project ten to bring steadier returns over time even if it requires patience. Diversifying too much might bring short-term gains but it also comes with higher risks and more uncertainty.

Do you think it's better to invest in a diversified range of altcoins or focus on one that has a specific, strong use case? Why?
Diversification is done by investing in assets that are not correlated with each other and move inversely, such as investing in gold, Bitcoin, the dollar, stocks, or other assets that are not correlated with each other. Many Altcoins are affected by Bitcoin, and most of them are low against Bitcoin.

Remember the saying and advice of savvy investors? Do not put all your eggs in one basket; its better to do diversification, but be sure that you are diversifying on coins with potential. If you are going to take a risk, it should be in a lower percentage of your portfolio so your basket will not be burned. Your portfolio should focus on diversification of coins with good potential.

You're absolutely right about not putting all your eggs in one basket. Diversification is key but it's important to research and choose coins with real potential not just hype. When taking risks, it's smart to keep them as a small percentage of your portfolio to protect yourself from big losses.

Perhaps we do have individual preferences but IMO, when it has to do with altcoins diversification is what comes to mind because it's even more safer to risk in a several range of coins than focus on one.

If one coin doesn't perform as expected, least you invested in several other coins out of 10 one must at least do well and in this yiu would be able to recover all thay was lost in other coins didn't do as expected but at the same time if all do well the potential profit that could be realised is far different from what one would have if they only focused on coin.
