I think that you should try to find a good coin or token on coinmarketcap that has strong fundamentals or real life usage, do a lot of research on it and invest a percentage of your available fundings in it-around 40% I'd say. If it is gold it will glitter and when it does you will profit off of the hopefully exponential growth.

Personally, I think the best strategy for beginners is to mine using their computer's GPU. There's a high probability of recovering your investment through mining or reselling your GPU so it is low risk. It will heat your room during the winter, and it gives you flexibility to mine different coins. This way you aren't left gambling on market pricing as a means of income. It can also be a lot of fun and a great learning experience to get involved with the network instead of gambling on it.
