I would say try to sell something for the $10, anything you have laying around you can sell here or even post to trade, have someone buy the cord and trade for what you have.  Being a newbie though you will probably have to go first.  Be careful and deal with reputable people either way.  Good luck.

That's actually a good idea. Can't believe I didn't think of that lol

Collect all the old phones and computers in your house and set up an ad farm. Go to the beermoney section on reddit.

Trade this money for crypto and start researching and trading on exchanges. Then buy proper equipment.

This probably makes me sound stupid, but what's an ad farm? How would I go about setting one up?

Try collecting from faucets if you have free time. It may only be a little BTC but it's better than nothing and its free. Also if BTC keeps going up and if you plan on purchasing the cord with BTC you'll get to $10 in no time.

Yeah, I've used faucets in the past. I think last April was the last time I actually USED a Bitcoin faucet. It was Moon Bitcoin, or something like that. They kind of drove me away from crypto-currency for a while, not because they payed so little, but because I got a virus from one. At least I think it was from a faucet site. Never had a problem with my computer until I used them. But if you can recommend any I would definitely get started back up again.

You may be thinking, "Hey, didn't you say you were new to cryptocurrency?" and the answer is "Yes, in the sense that I'm looking deeper into just the monetary value". Plus I was only into Bitcoin for a week or so anyway, so it doesn't really count Tongue

Your best bet is to try to mine new Cryptonight coins, that have just started, and have very low difficulty, and hope they will be worth someday.

Examples are XCI coin, BIP coin, and so on.

Well best for you is to continue going well in school as the top of your priorities. A girl should be enough and not quite some share of them in my view for your age.

With those specs you can't mine any altcoin except the BCN (quite useless) and XMR (very low income) with your CPU. If you have a desktop and a PC Case which supports medium to large GPU-cards wait until you get christmas money and start mining Ethereum then (of course if it's still profitable).

Hi, all!

So, I'm kinda new to crypto-currency, and I realized that it's impossible to mine Bitcoin with a CPU. So I got to thinking, there are these things called altcoins, right? Is there any coin that can be mined with a CPU and earn me $10 quick enough so that I could get the right cord to use my GPU and mine Monero? I literally don't have any money to put in because I don't have a job (I'm 17, and live in a rural town. The closest McDonald's is 30 miles away, with no other restaurants hiring near me.), and not to sound immature, but I don't have the patience to wait until I get my Christmas money Wink

If anyone could help, I'd greatly appreciate it. If it's relevant, my processor is an Intel Core 2 Duo 3.00 Ghz. Thank you!

Go to school and don't waste your time now, invest in yourself not in useless junk.

Meet a girl adn grow up, that's the best thing you can do at 17 y'old Wink

ps: not, sorry. You can't do anything with that components, if not wasting time, energy and your life

lol, That's probably good advice Smiley I've had my share of women for now, though. Too much drama and other stupid crap with girls my age lol. I do fairly well in school. It's so easy right now I don't have anything else to stuff my brain into. Sometimes I wish I could grow up though!

Careful with those girls, they will ruin your life!  Well just don't knock any of them up HAHA

That cpu will be too slow to mine anything but perhaps you could sell some corn to the neighbors or rake some leaves for money.  I started doing landscape work for the retired folks at the townhouses when I was 14.  At that time min wadge was $6 an hour and I charged people $10 an hour for my work, good money for a teenager.

I've already almost had that scare once lol, haven't dated since! I'll probably start having to do some serious labor for my money. It's a shame freelancing websites don't take kids my age. *Sigh*... Four more months, cuddleface, four more months lol
