I checked the chart of steemit market https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=post;topic=618359.20;num_replies=29 and it look all impressive but i have a question, can the technical details of this coin be followed to decide whether to buy into it or sell what you already have ?

quick bug report

I've been watching your orderbooks...

when the last order was a "BUY"/green and in this buy a single user purchased multiple satoshi into the book

ie

then the "last" price plotted on the candle should be 156 satoshi not 152 satoshi
and the order they're listed in the transactions column should be highest price on top instead of lowest price on top

even though there were no additional orders in 1m candle [09:19:00, 09:20:00) , in this case you're currently plotting a red 1m candle range 156-152 when you should be plotting a green candle of the same range

compare your reddish 30m candles to the same 30m greenish candles at poloniex homepage

very cool site though

keep up the good work

Really nice and simple to use site. Really like the very clean look. You should change one thing tho. When you look at Bittrex you get the full coin names next to the ticker, when you look at Poloniex or YoBit then you only see a ticker next to the ticker. Arguably it is not needed as they are displayed on one of the exchanges but it would make sense to have them on all of them. A few more improvements and the site could be amazing (maybe trollboxes from the sites)?

Ah, so I had it backwards then, now it makes more sense. Lighter colors indicate higher quantity of orders, darker colors means fewer orders were placed in that range.

Are the orders weighted by size or does 1 buy order equal 1 buy order regardless of if it's an order to buy 1 coin or 1000?

It's weighted by ordersize (so you can distinct small orders and big walls). The color-intensity is calculated with a logarithmic function to give better detail around the best ask/bid price (just like how the orderbook chart is shown on bittrex.com, note the 0.01, 0.1, 1.0, 10.0 scale on the y-axis).

note: max color intensity does not correspond to some absolute maximum orderbooksum, all intensities are relative to the maximum sum measured for that day. Meaning global intensities could become darker during the day when huge order wall's enter the graph.

Every horizontal pixel column represents a sample of a cumulated orderbook. Whenever color is lighter it means theres relative high orders in that price range. I think its pretty unique to my site although i have seen samples out there from regular stock market used investing fraud. I still want to print date and hours 0-24 on x axis and price on y axis but havent gotten around it yest. Performance was a problem but should be fixed now. Glad you like it!

Love the site, but have a question and pardon my ignorance, but how do you read the orderbook history? I'm assuming the darker areas are where the higher concentration of orders were placed? I'm fairly new to trading in general, around a year so far, is this a common way to visualize orderbook history? Just wondering if I can find anything else online regarding this, it seems unique and very interesting to me.

Thanks for providing such a great resource!!  Grin Grin

Do you have an FAQ for how the charts work. For example what are the parameters of the moving averages? Is it 50 200 or 7 50? Also I don't know what the bar chart means.

Thanks,
Calvin

I'm afraid that I haven't gotten around making a FAQ yet. EMA's are 7 30 and currently fixed-hard-coded, I may make a configuration-dialog today no promise. The bar chart below candles is volume, which is made up of buys - dark blue and sells - light blue.

The orderbook-history-chart is a 24h representation of the buy and sell sides of the orderbook during the day. It's real time updated but you have to manually refresh your browser (to save mobile bandwidth)

Well the thing is I don't really like sites with adds on them myself so I will try other things first.
The code should be more efficient after the last update so I will save substantial cpu/db costs.
Of course I stick around, it's a great little hobby project, it's too much fun to stop now. Roll Eyes

On my test setup I've got all the MintPal currencies working btw and will probably throw it live when it's stable.
Wouldn't it be nice if you could compare let's say DRK/BTC charts from Cryptsy and MintPal in the same tab?
Oh well MintPal first, and maybe some other exchanges. Any suggestions?

Absolutely LOVE this site! Its a desperately needed tool for any trader, yet this is the only live chart for cryptsy I know of besides the hidden ones at that other place I wont mention here. So, why so little love in this thread? And while I love your light/fast interface, why not throw a Google ad or two on there to support your hosting cost? I donate but its not enough to keep you running. I hope you're able to stick around though... If not, would you open source or sell the code? Im broke but, I have a super cheap/fast host available I could host her on.

done:
- lower latest-trade latency
- remembers interval settings (for each market)
- BTC prices reduced to 8 decimals

thanks! you are so right about the 8 decimal places, I'll fix that!

DOGE is working for me, maybe Cryptsy was lagging?
Or maybe you mean the off-the-scale values with 1H interval which messes up the chart? dunno. will look into that later...

Just made some UI adjustments in the menu, I sorted on currency code instead on name and added DEPTH to the order book.

Hi I'm happy to announce my new site http://altcoinlive.com, basically you can monitor all "Altcoin" crypto currencies on Cryptsy exchange.
However, it's still under heavy development.

stuff on my todo list:

- lower latency for latest-trades-panel
- notify orderbook changes
- add all currencies from Mintpal exchange API
- depth chart
- candle cursor info
- mouse scroll
- wheel zoom
- remember settings

this is GREAT!
I love the way it is designed and wow .. so many coins listed.
Dogecoin don't work Btw Smiley

And you have a BIG BIG mistake Smiley

For example - have a look at DevCoin/BTC Cheesy

you know that BTC have 8th places after 0.

Your prices are showing like 0.0000001550 BTC Smiley and this is very wrong.

Smiley But I really like the overall!
