It is full of them, i am starting to invest on Flixxo, it has already increase a lot, but this one has an incredible potential to keep going up for a while until the end of the year. Maybe it can easily make a x10 in a short term.

Im true holder and i save my nerves and don't try to sell altcoins from my portfolio with the goal to buy cheaper.  the market can panish you very hard and the price will go other direction that you expect. And you in the risk to buy more expensive that you sold  Huh this strategy is not for me. I bought and hold till the price hit x10 minimum. But of course the choice of altcoins is very important.

That is so very true. I lost a lot of money trying to short my bag of coins. The price shot up right after I sold them. Never ever again!!

this is another lesson to us to not sell if the price does not increase at least x10 and I see many of us still learn to hold because they know how strong the power of hold. withhold some coins which potential to increase will makes us reach a bigger profit in the long term but be careful, because we can attract to sell the coin if we see the price is down too much. I think we can learn from our experience so we can hold with tight in the future and we can make a big profit.

What does the price of the coin matter to the project after the ICO? They have received all their money... it's like when you buy shares in a company, they don't get any of your money beyond the IPO

Good comparison, but don't forget companies always keep a part of their shares/coins, which they can resell on the market. Many coins use this to budget new developments and marketing for example, meaning the more value their coin earned the less equity they need to use...

I think that this is the normal development of each project. The price of a coin is constantly fluctuating and this is normal. Crypto market is built on speculation where someone sells and someone buys. The idea of the project does not die if the coin goes down.

Who said there is not enough holders for altcoin. The price of Litecoin is raising this much due to the huge amount of Investors and holders. Trading principal is sell when the price is high and buy when the price is low.

Ya I agree with your points. Not only litecoin ,even Ethereum has huge number of holding people and Investors. So you can keep the altcoin for your future, altcoin is not best for the short term profit. It's only for long term.

Community what is your opinion on this?

I see good projects, I see them growth but as soon as the market is consolidating everybody is making their buck and pull their money out.

As hodler its a true pain in the ass, because you see many good solid projects decreasing by more than 50% and taking ages to get back.

The sad part of this story is that, if you see this happening the next time and you feel the market consolidating, you will just sell high and buy cheap again.

But is this the trend we want to follow? Undecided Huh
There is nothing to be done, people do not believe in holding altcoins for a long time, the only coin most people hold for a long time is bitcoin and to be honest I think that is the correct strategy, since we do not know for how long an altcoin is going to exist, there are statistics that say that most cryptocurrencies project fail and the failure rate is close to 90% so we cannot blame people for not holding.

People panic sell to early . While i think if you wait you will always make more money in the long run. Also a lot of people try to daytrade because they see the swings , but they don't realize how hard it is to trade.

Dragonchain, it will make an easy x10 during this year, just buy as much as you can before it does. I am having all my batches of dragonchain on my ethereum wallet right now.
This coin is going to be a game-changer.

Dash has a circulating supply according coinmarketcap of 7,8 million Dash.
From that 7,8 million Dash there is currently 4,6 million Dash in hold status
as it is reserved as combined collateral for Dash masternode network.

That is more than half of Dash circulating supply acting as HODLers !!
I say some altcoins do have more then enough HODLers, you just have to know them....

That was actually a very good tip, I should pick my coins more like that! Thank you  Smiley

Many of us her are traders and not holders or investors. I always sell my token when ever there is a little price increases. If I hold them for long I could have make good profits today and I think this is the most risk free ways for one to make really good money in token and coins investment.

There is no need to be a hodler nowadays. You can always buy your favourite project in deep and sell high and therefore accumulate even more of it

Too many weak hands and newbies in the market. It grows not like it was before, all the whole market.
True. Many new crypto investors not interested ideas or development. They see easy money only. I hope we will see deep correction that cause 'blood and tier' rivers for those people

There is nothing we can do to stop this because majority of people prefer to invest and take their profit as soon as the price of specific coin increases (short term trade/investment), even that coin have good potential to grow in the future because their are whales that are manipulating those altcoins, and I think this is the reason that there are only few people are investing long term in altcoins. But if you are a real hodler, you shouldn't have to be afraid about the price going down instead you should just have to be patient waiting for it to reach its mass adoption and finally get your profit.

This is a profit tanking period and you should not feel worry about that. But that depends on your self because everybody has its own way and you can't blame other. But this is crypto since the market goes wild but long term holders will still become a winner. Look at so many old project that have been running the product gets a lot of value right now.

holder. People do not care about the current price. people set goals. And they will keep up until prices reach their goal. Whatever the reason, they will not sell. if you are interested in price. I think you should not be the holder. It will cost you more and more money for your attention

Thats the sad part of crypto trading indeed, almost everyone is already profit oriented instead of actually using or learning the coin. So many good projects are unfunded but in the meantime there are projects done by college kids are earning millions. I really do hope all the drama and shilling ends and more focus be placed on using green sustainable energy solutions.

HODLing is an art, not just a word...
you HODL something that is worth HODLing not anything that moves! hodling altcoins is not really worth it since as you already noticed they get pumped and dumped... how are you going to hold something that is used by every single other person as a temporary pump and dump thing? you will be left holding bags!

The sad part of this story is that, if you see this happening the next time and you feel the market consolidating, you will just sell high and buy cheap again.

no i will sell high and buy the next altcoin which is getting pumped instead to sell that high after the pump was over and the next and the next...

I do not agree fully with this point, altcoins with good projects and teams have superb community and supporters who believe in the team and hold their coin for long term.

Your post have remind me of Tulip Bubble at the very first time
However, most of the altcoins are quite different from Tulip Bubble as they have many features of the really currency.
And as long as the money fluid in that area, Speculation is always there.
Though speculation, we still quit positive about altcoin as they may be something that could change the world

I dont see it as i problem honestly. True holder will use that to their advantage by buying dumpers coins. Eventually, if the project is serious, the target price will be there and everybody's happy.

Im also a holder. I buy and after that i don’t look at the price charts. This way is much better for my nerves. At the beginning i looked every day at the price charts and made some bad decisions. Sold some coins and the price went to the moon…. Now i will wait and see what happens. Maybe this will work or not, we will see.

Consolidation happens in every market, even apple's stock price can come down 50% of every swing. It's just that the volatility in crypto has raised our expectations. Speculators do not hodl and you need speculators for every market else it is just going to be a parabolic move up and then a swift parabolic move down without any liquidity.

True holders do not watch the price. They have either a big price target or a big time target, and only look at their assets at these points. So what you say yes, could be true but not to serious holders. It is a sad situation, that crypto people are 99% profit makers who have zero care about the projects and tech. But blame the projects. They also market themselves as x100 coins through their shills. This is the only trend that people follow. But if you are a true holder, you just keep adding at the dips.
