Sorry but that's not drama. It's more like a 200% budget sitcom wrote by Elmer Fudd.

I agree with OP, there are way too many alt coins going around these days!  Tongue

What happens is, there is just so much market share to go around, and there just isn't enough to be shared around with ALL the alts that are going around...

Some people say "the market will sort them out". But that just doesn't seem to be happening! Some of these fail joke coins have been around for up to a year! Still taking market share. Take BBQcoin for example, or Stablecoin, Grandcoin, Globalcoin, Goldcoin etc..

It's time the exchanges do a major "pruning" and get rid of say maybe 50% at least!

One year in the crypto world is a very long time! I really don't think the market is going to "sort them out" any time soon.

We don't need all these coins! They are just killing off all the coins together. Making the alt coin scene look like the land of ponzi schemes, and pump and dumps.

Things were way better before exchanges started to add all these useless alt coins. All of the market share was concentrated in a few alt coins, which was keeping the alt coin market healthy and giving it a good reputation.

People were literally coming on the forum begging to have their coin added to Cryptsy. Which most of the time didn't happen.

Now things have recently taken a turn for the worst with the recent addition of a few new alt coin exchanges, that add pretty much any coin.

In my honest opinion, this kind of activity needs to stop. All of this greed will kill off all of these coins by ruining the credibility of our community and soon we will have nothing! We as a community need to work together to make this all work.

This is not "free market" this is greed.

Please, guys this needs to stop!

If not the end is near for us all!

I agree with you OP.. we need to say no to the temptation of flash mining every crappy coin that comes along
and simply focus more effort on those that deserve it.. Do you guys know that some devs out there are actually devs ? and not just coin cloners ?
Understand how much a huge slap in the face it is when the guy from Quark or Prime coin or Grid coin or something
see their coins ignored while people parade around the net harassing the general public with Doge tard nonsense ?
It's insulting to them and i bet very discouraging.. Coins let you down ? no the devs are getting let down by us..

i understand some of you are simply greedy and couldn't care less about crypto etc etc
but hey let me put it this way, smarten up or your greed will destroy our entire scene.. hence no more greedy flash mining to exploit.

i had a buddy little while back come to my house and i gave em 1 btc as a gift and was giving em some quick advice what to do with it etc
and he snapped at me when i mentioned anything to do with supporting crypt and barked at me fuck that fucking crap
he said he didn't give a flying fuck about any stupid currency crap and wants money and now !
And that about sums it up.. it's the truth.. and it disgusts me Sad
Most of you out there are greedy jerks and will sacrifice us all to fill your pockets..
BUT your only screwing your self guys and your own bottom line (revenue)
And at the time that BTC i gave em was worth $900 and since then i have not talked to him once.
If your one of "them" ? i cut the strings and say bye bye.. I am a supporter of crypto, bitcoin and altcoins etc
and not simply a greedy maggot.

@Cesar22
i reported your post.. your *unrelated link spamming is not cool buddy.

Most of them , 101% are jokecoins. But the actual funny thing about them is that you can make some BTC out of them. Smiley

I understand the problem, and why it annoys people, and yes that armada of worthless cloned pump-and-dump coins annoys me too. But there also good coins. Coins with fresh ideas, ambition, and people that believe in them. But how exactly would you differentiate between the two. It is not simple black and white, there are many shades of grey, and subjective views as well. Where do you draw the line? Who draws the line? Would everybody be fine with the fact that someone decides for them which coins are okay and which are banned? I am not.

I like to decide for myself which coins deserve my attention, support and investment. Yes it is annoying to wade through piles of crap to find that gem you were looking for. Yes it is annoying when you found it and only few other people notice it in the flood. But I prefer that to the alternative. The way it is I will not be able to take a real look at every coin there is, and because of that I may not actually find the best one for me, but I will find good ones out there, and I sure as hell can avoid the obvious crap and never touch it. Is that really any different from so many other things in life?

If everyone learns to go about altcoins more critically, to actually take a little time in deciding what to get into and what not, then all the annoying shitcoins would fade into oblivion. But for many people that is not the point. The point is a quick gamble: pump some coin, any coin, dump it, drop it like a hot potato, and move on. That is what 90% of altcoins thrive on. Or exist at least. Do I like that? No. But I believe anyone should be allowed to decide for themselves what it is they want, and if that is what they are looking for then so be it. Good luck and have fun!

Market will sort them out (sooner or later).

If people are stupid enough to invest in bullshit, they shouldn't complain losing money. The shitcoin devs will always laugh.

If you are not a big player with 5+Mhs, picking alt coins is a nightmare. So many do not payout regular amounts as you mine, way too many are unprofitable half the time and super exploity profitable for 30mins a day.

I suggest CASH coin. New, very fast difficulty rebalance, so none of the shenanigans of getting diff stuck high for days and dropping to 0 for clever folks to profit massively. But on same note, everyone with a few mega hashes wants a quick buck, while folks with less than 1MH/s are basically subsidising them.

Check out https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/anncash-crypto-cash-proof-of-stake-coin-control-on-cryptsy-0-premine-424421 for CASH info, WIP page, going to spruce up the whole jig. Tech is super sound behind it, just needs a designer's touch .. which we are working on.

Mine here: http://cash.minebig.com, https://cash.hash.so, http://cash.easy-mining.net

minimum requirements:

initial pump must grow at least to 10-100 times of initial value

the next dump must be at least back to starting value

the second pump must go at least 10 times so high

and then the coin must die in 3 weeks to not get stabilized and unprofitable for PD scheme also.

Smiley kind of truth. But not for all of them Smiley

I'm mad.

Why so many useless coin launches last 3-4 weeks? Why more fail launches than good launches?

I'm worried about the future of altcoins. When this circus continues I can not take altcoins serious anymore.

Am I tripping balls or should we raise the bar? Can there be minimum requirements for coins? Should we do something as a community?

What is happening?
