What happens to the tokens/coins once an ICO company decides not to continue?

If the projects are fairly legit then they will decide to return the funds from the investors. They do this by allocating all the equivalent funds that were invested into their projects and they will refund the amount on the address from where they received the funds so that no can cheat on them. However I started my sentence with one important word and thats "legit". To be frank with you not all of them are so caring to refund the money. Most of them will give some reason and may go dark in the time to come. That is from where the scam starts and we get no choice but to forget about these projects.

I just recently joined one bounty program that they were not able to hit their soft cap. They immediately sent out announcement apologizing to all contributors of what happen. Then a day after they started to refund the investment of investors. As for us bounty hunters, it was clear from the beginning that if the ICO fail then payment for bounty will not happen. It was sad but that how it goes.

I've been joining a lot of signature campaigns since last year so I've been in this kind of situations that the only option we can do is to find another bounty campaigns and start over.
we should understand that sometimes things won't go well according with our visions but we just trying to join a lot of Bounty campaigns in order to collect new altcoins as many as we can while we are still able.

What happens to the tokens/coins once an ICO company decides not to continue?

when they decide not to continue then we can do nothing.
I had altcoins that were useless until today so they're just sitting on my wallet and what I did is to create another wallet and transfer my altcoins that has values.
failed altcoins like Tangerine Exchange, AltOwl and other 3 which I forgot their coin names.

if you think altcoin is unsuccessful, you better to stop doing this crypto. why?? because all altcoin can give profit to the user even if the profit is too low. altcoin is alternative like in our way or highway in road, if the main road have a heavy traffic there's a lot of alternative routes for the rider and actually to the commuters like me. because as a commuter i can siggest to my driver to take or to find another alternative routes specially when i'm late in my work hehehehe

Once the ICO didn't met the soft-cap they will eventually end this since they won't have a fund to continue on the project. Some really burn their coins then return the money to investors. Some continue but this is bad because the coin will no longer have a value. In worst cases, if you encounter a scam they will just run with the money.

If they burn the coins(you're talking all coins here?) how will they be able to return the money to investors then?
If a good ICO project does not sell enough tokens over the soft cap, then they will pay back to the investors. If they cheat, then you lose money.

If a company has great prospects and has ready-made developments, then it can not just decide to stop working on the project. Sometimes, when some employees lose motivation, they can leave the project and new professionals will come instead.
So, if you have invested your money in a reliable altcoin, then do not worry that the project team will stop working on it.

Usually they will burn their token because their token will have not price. They are also will send back all money of all investor that have invest to their project. In other case, the scam project will not recover investor money. So, we must decide to find legit ICO project before take a part.

There are so many reason behind that if the soft cap not fullfill and the project was not good then it will always fall. most of the new ico are faceing this problem so before i invest any new altr i try to check  this things like road map, dev team, vision, and the market popularity.

you mean? I do not really understand what you are discussing
at this time the market becomes crazy and chaotic due to many factors due to prohibition where. but what makes the situation worse is the new investor who tends to panic in every situation. this is what makes atlcoin not develop properly. the market goes crazy, bitcoin down and its effect on altcoin.

Given that the project is unsuccessful, they have no choice but to burn their tokens. Or sometimes, they keep it and make theit ICO better in time. They develop it more and they come back at a later time to try once more.

You don't know ? When ICO failed to collect enough funds, they usually refund back the ETH you used for the tokens you bought.
Therefore, the investors still guaranteed. but the worst thing is, the ICO reaching softcap, but it doesn't go well in the future.
You won't get any profit from undevelop ICO.

mostly if ICO project is not gaining what they aim to be , a legit ICO company are usually opted to return the money of the investors , fees are also deducted by some company but it happen due an agreement. ICO's usually burn their unsuccessful token to maintain the number of coins in the market.

The ones I know and seen; all they did was to refund the people's money those that invested in the ICO. Although, some of them have been so bad taking people's money away to never talk about them or refunding their money. Hence, the most common thing people do is to refund people's investment.

If the source code is open source than mostly some new dev might fork it and continue the project or the old devs might hand over the repo keys to the new devs. But if the ICO creators exit scam, than you are out of luck and can expect the price to hit the floor soon.

Now some teams just add 2-4 weeks to the ICO campaigns in order to gather a soft cap or hard cap. Some new bounty managers are leading the campaigns not very wisely with strange politics and rules, therefore the projects might not to get even a soft cap, although its technology or economics is good and lucrative. In the most of cases the tokens are not being burnt.

You have to read the rules, because it says they will return the money to investors, but in many cases they will deduct an admin fee so you will get less back than you invested. This isn't a bad thing, the team could pack up and go taking your coins with them pulling an exit scam! That is why a sold out pre-sale means it is likely to go ahead, and coins are cheaper at the beginning.

Price dumps hard
Exchanges will drop tokens/coins
In few cases, another group of people start to develop around coin as volunteer.
There  will be almost zero trading volume within a month after dev flew away.
Devs will announce different coin where you will be allowed to swap your old tokens.

Most legit ICOs that i have seen or had encounter with and that could not continue with their projects, usually do a pay back to their investors so that investors will not be on the loosing side. If it is other wise, it means that the investors will loose what they have invested and the token become a?most useless.  These useless tokens are known to be shit coins and will have no or less values at the end.

Its true ICO team will burn them and the possibility of giving your investments back to you. So when you invest in one ICO remember you must be updated to the ICO everyday to see whats happening.

But got to ask this so Is there by any chance the ICO team will just leave and has the possibility of gained investments will not be return to investors? Is there any issue that happend hare?

QUESTION again (questions can be answered by anyone, just curious)

Is this like waves? Never know if waves ceeator just leaves there creation and never burn them?

Do you think waves still have any chanced of popping up? An
