Ripple with its banking support. I own it, but I'm still not completely comfortable with the distributions.

Ethereum absolutely due to the widespread adoption and use cases.

Essentially, I'd say keeping an eye on https://coinmarketcap.com/ will give you the answers your looking for.

OK... I can give the name of three coins.

Ethereum - A large number of famous developers and investors are backing this coin.
Bitcoin Cash - A number of powerful supporters, including Roger Ver and Jihan Wu.
Ripple - Supported by many of the banking heavyweights.

We all know that no matter how good one product is, it will hardly succeed without strong support.

Would you share info for altcoins (except Ethereum of course) which are being patronized by serious players (people or companies)?
Absolutely  This is truth that any good product can get easily  success without marketing or support  because people don't think that products are better when they are advertising ,real fact .
Here sometimes we need only a perfect name because names are those things which make the product interactive for all .
Here we can take the example of coins that get daily launch , You can see that those coins are only better to get profit which are advertising ownself in every platfroms to get famouse . But opposite of this bitcoin cash ,like a altcoin , get famouse and have good potential that is not a easy thing for anycoin , And here they didn't made any advertisement , perhaps they distributed the same amount of BCH for BTC .
So it depends upon the team and team's who is launching his coin , As bitcoin was already famouse so they got success in market but another coin's don't have so they are still struggling to make money .

OP what do you have in mind when you say backers? Do you mean the team, or investors, advisors, partners, something else, all of the above?

All of the above, altough the investors seem most important (putting you own money is the best motivation Smiley)

Thank you all for the hints.

Are more intrested in a new projects (have some Waves already, Salt also looks promising but lending busines hides a lot of risk).

What about the top companies like Apple, Google and Amazon, Alibaba and etc?

Do they participate in this market?

Ripple! Big banks like Ripple's technology.
Market Cap is now over $8 billion: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/ripple/
https://ripple.com's slogan: 'The world’s only enterprise blockchain solution for global payments'

I do not hold any Ripple. I am not a large enterprise and Ripple has nothing to offer for me as a small user.

I've heard about Salt project but I'm still searching about the authenticity of support coming out from big players, and i agree with your
argument that the project will succeed if there's strong back up behind the project and us the investors always looking for the team behind.

Not many of these at this point, but I would look at Civic (CVC) they have a real product and strong founder (Vinny Lingham).

Tezos will also be huge as many people are coming to see the brilliance of Arthur Brietman.

You definitely want to be a holder of both of these over the next couple years, CVC can be bought now, Tezos hopefully by Oct.

What about the token based on ethereum platform? There are some choice like neo and omisego that already backed by the professional person.  The support will be importan from teh community i can say that will be take a big part to give a result about the project because that can give a lot of hype.
