I think it is a mistake that we tie the survival of these coins to the two coins as they have no business with them, majority of these coins when they were released came with the promise of having a good working product that people will like and be using from time to time, which is what should always create demand for them.

The more that people request for their product, they demand for their coin to purchase it and thereby making the value of the coin to grow, but instead, all of them are just working like Ponzi scheme, where they create a system that will take money from A to pay B and vice versa and at the end, when they can no longer do that, they close down, I think these coins needs to really stand on their own and stop creating ideas that will invite users to them again.

Uptrend no longer occurs in the last 2 years and indeed during this period, all altcoins tend to decrease more. I think we will have to face the bear market for a few more years because until now there hasn't been any signs of price increases yet and 2019 could be a bad year for everyone. I predict that the bear market will truly end in 2022 and we will have to wait for another trend to emerge.

Of course, we will not know what will happen and if want the market to look like 2017, we need to be more patient.

Well if you mean the Old ICO tokens who already died then provably there's no way for them to pump up since I'm sure that there's no people will throw there money on that bad investment, but for the IEO coins(Binance listed IEO tokens/coins)? provably they will soar high once the market trend will go up so might best to stock some and let see how future goes.

You can't determine effect from the conclusion. You are saying ALT will go up when BTC dominance will decrease below 50%. That doesn't mean anything. BTC Dominance below 50% is conclusion, not effect.
So for both alt coins to go up and btc dominance to come below 50%, we need some market movements.

Alts do look under-priced against Bitcoin when we consider historic levels. Does this mean that they were too high and are now correctly priced? Or does it mean that they were correctly priced and are now too low? Personally I think it's somewhere in the middle, they were somewhat over-priced and are now somewhat under-priced. I say this mainly because the market has a tendency to overshoot in both directions. A huge price rise is always followed by a bit of a pullback, and the same for huge drops, usually followed by a bit of a recovery.

Based on this then, I would say alts should experience a price rise vs Bitcoin fairly soon, although how pronounced that rise might be is a different question.

I don't see altcoins go moon anytime from now and in fact, only legit and great altcoins will prevail out of hundreds that are out there. I've seen so many projects that had successful funding but are not even making any marketing efforts to please the investors. They should focus on delivering what they promised on their roadmap and let people have the project be developed for crypto. From writing articles, developing dApps and more. Anything that can help take the project to the next level.

Though we can never tell when altseason will begin since everyone is still dependent on BTC's value rise or drop, but as long as these altcoins do their part, they should shine at their own time.

there no guarantee with the market analysis or price predicts because people are doing it based on the collected and opinions. One thing we know for sure will happen which is the altcoin market recovery sooner or later. It's only a matter of time, one day the altcoins too will recover just like bitcoin did.

I think that now you can not compare today's market with the 2017 market. in 2017, the market was not strong, but it was just full of excitement. Now we are developing technology and waiting for the arrival of new investors

I'll happily admit I was definitely a fool in 2017, invested in my share of ICOs and was fooled by the seemingly really good development and ideas in the whitepaper and the way they actually sounded so down to earth. Now I know better and only stick to the coins I truly love, and truly use. Guess everyone needs to learn their own mistakes.

It's better not to expect anymore and accept a possible loses as it could go that way.
With the way the market is moving now, it's not impossible that small cap project will be dead soon, as the new projects are also challenging the old ones.
Now, it only depends on how people or investors are gonna take it, if they believe on altcoins we shall see a decrease of dominance of BTC which would give them a space to grow.

I have posted this many times in the past. Cryptocurrency is very different from other forms of investment such as real estate and stocks and therefore the past price movements can't be used to predict the future exchange rates. To predict the future price movement of altcoins, first you need to study why they lost their value recently. One of the main reason was the destruction of the ICO market. Another reason was the revelation that many of the projects were scams. The delay in the development work was another reason that had a negative impact on the exchange rates. So in order for the altcoins to make a comeback, all these issues must be resolved. And unfortunately, I am not seeing any signs of that. It would still be hard to rely on expectations and speculations. Just remember what happened last year wherein most of us have expected something big to occur before that year end, which pushed many investors to invest on different cryptos. The outcome is really disappointing to most of the people who invested that time because continuous downfall became the result which yield to huge profit loss. First of all in need to correct you as they call "Altcoins" for one reasson (AlternativeCoins) But i think you are wrong my friend. We will not see altcoin like this season before, because then it was a novelty, everyone wanted to invest in new coins, they were growing in price at an incredible rate.

First of all, cryptocurrency is not a way to get rich intantly. When you deal with it, then you have to admit with any situation. So, when you believe against a prediction and you have money then you can buy the coin as you wanted. But if you don't, don't make a fool decision, play safe is more important I mean you can buy bitcoin as I think that is the safest place to store your money comparing altcoin.

There is many ways when you intend to invest in cryptocurrency to earn money. I suggest if you are not the type person who has a high patient then you can participate in IEO project, I have confident that until now IEOs project is a way to gain money fastly. At least you just need three months to gain profit if you choose the right project.

As the market conditions everyday, it is not right to expect a bull run like 2017 and beginning of 2018. As we see last 2-3 months, BTC does not give permission alt coins to start a bull run in any case. We may see %20 30% profits in best scenario but a real bull run which people waiting 100X not relastic before 2020.
For bull run like 2017, we need market conditions change, new investors and less scam projects needed.

Yes, that's right. We only need to wait for bitcoin to the moon to touch ATH. For sure altcoin will follow it slowly. Buying altcoin now will only waste our money in vain. I have doubt with regards to December as there are plenty of celebrations in that month and also in January therefore there is a very less chance that the price increase will happen between that months.

It is not required that all alts will increase. It depends on FA and TA of the individual coins. Many of the altcoin change during the price change of BTC. So, Blindly we can not say that all alts will increase. Majority of the predictions states that BTC raises before halving which can lead to bearish market of alts.

So, we can not generalise and state that alts will grow.

It's a good thing if it will increase sooner. December to January, altcoins may slowly increase but I don't see that it will moon "very soon" just like what you think, since it'll take time. When the time comes that bitcoin will moon, altcoins will also follow.

Altcoins will increase depends on the flow of the market, we really cant determine when will these coins will go up to the moon. Some says By the end of the year moon will come, but some says next year will be the year of altcoins.

I'm not making fun og the OP but, I dont know where he gets the word Altar Coins to pertaining altcoins.

Personally speaking after seeing our current market right now, I doubt in 2020 altcoin will get any benefit from Bitcoin halving. On the other hand, in 2020-2021 we should see Bitcoin pumps because of the halving. Then what is the point in investing in altcoin if we do not know when it will get pump while we can be sure that Bitcoin will do it in the future.

Hard to tell still at this moment. Indeed some of their market value are increasing but it we would look closer parricularly with consistency, assumptions with regards to pump of any crypto, is abit impossible to occur at this moment. Some people are expecting for such thing to occur at the end of this year but I would say that they should not drag themselved that much with such expectation. Reality still is way different, just look bqck at what happened last year.

The moon coins are not traded yet on the big exchanges IMO, for founding the promising altcoin diggin into the small marketcap coins is necessary. I am definitely beleive in the future of altcoins but the fairy tale stories irritate me by the traders who traded the all-time high prices in the last bull market. The expectations have to be near the reality but let's don't forget that the alt season was different 2 years ago.

I guess that could be possible to happen, but many of us hope that the rising of altcoin will be happening from this month until the next years. We have so many altcoins that can increase anytime, and some of them will have a chance to hit the very highest price. But it is too difficult to find which altcoin can increases because all of the coins don't move too fast at the market. We need to be patient to wait for that time, and meanwhile, we can try to buy the potential altcoin by analyzing the altcoin movements at the market.

They will indeed go to the moon very soon and while they are not yet on the way to the moon, we should stock up a lot of altcoins and keep them in a safe place. Keep accumulating altcoins and also bitcoins and don't think about the price because the low price is temporary but the potential is always permanent and we should always maximize that.

You are right, we should not wait in excess of big profits. When investing, the expectation of profit in the region of 30-50% per year is a lot. 2017 certainly showed a very large profit, but this will not happen every year.

What makes altcoin to the moon? and why it happened between Dec 2019- January 2020? if the reason was because the month was also anylized as a month where BTC would experience up, what if the opposite happened.

I guess it's better if we'll focus and just deal with the market flow rather than expecting too much.

I've never been a big BTC fan, and I think that in the long run various projects will surpass it, if not in absolute value then certainly in percentage gains. But for now, investors are choosing between a relatively safe-feeling by Crypto standards investment in BTC, vs. a lottery ticket with altcoins. Whether or not that's a fair assessment, having been burned before, most are choosing the former. So in the short-to-medium term I think BTC will out-perform altcoins in a collective sense. So i learned this lesson the hard way in the past. In a bear market if you can't cash out it's better to have the majority of your portfolio in Bitcoin.

I haven't heard about Altar coins, was that a new altcoin? Or are you pertaining to alternative coins? but based from your topic, the reason I can see for altcoins market value to spike is the hashrates, miners around the world will compute transactions even faster, in that regards, it will be convenient for people to create transactions personally since it is fast, reliable and secured. More and more people will accumulate volumes of altcoins so its market value might increase as well based on the demands of people.

There's some that have solid projection for the future and have real usage that will experience the bull but it's not the majority, only few projects that have strong community who's still willing to wait and support the progress of those Alts. Altar? Are you pertaining to a specific token or you mean alts? I guess what you really mean is alts. Anyway, I think alts is not going to the moon unless btc reach it first. I believe in 'If btc rises, alt rises too'. I know they are existing in different blockchains but the dominance of btc in the market is very strong. It seems that all investors used it as their main basis. Thus, alts have no choice but to follow.

the most concern is the BTC price factor. because if we look at BTC prices and charts on the market there isn't much movement and more visible on the downtrend. to pump altcoin I think we should try from their renewal and not rely on the market waiting for the pump from the BTC movement.

So every time a coin pumps you think that market is going to rise again? That's not a good prediction for alts especially because mostly alts are pump and dumps schemes(except few promising ones), so you never know whats going to happen in very next hour or minute.

It looks so difficult for altcoin, as you can see how it wasn't even moving a lot when bitcoin started to growth from 4k to the more than 13k in a few months ago. Altcoin is in a very difficult situation when the pressure is coming even more from bitcoin and market. So many big updates have already done in altcoin but t keeps its position and this will be very long time to go for altcoin.

I don't know when the Altars are going to move, because the price increase is too small and I don't think it means anything. I don't expect a big increase in altcoins when Bitcoin remains stable, and Bitcoin as it is still. If there were more concrete reasons, I would agree with you, but the current situation is that we are still where we are.

Back to your post OP, you need to back up your claim when you want to tell people some news like this one. Altcoins will not go to the most as of this moment because there is no reason yet. according to some analysis, we will have a massive price increase when bitcoin will moon again. As you can see the price of bitcoin as of today, is not the right price to push the price of the Altcoins to go onto the moon.

Good to see that most of the altcoins are green today in comparison to bitcoin. But the increase is just in range of 0.5-2% which is normal. It can't be assumed as the arrival of anything. Altcoins have already fell too much, so unless they gain 30-40% rise in next month or two, we can't expect any bull run in Dec-Jan.

There are no reasons what so ever in order for altcoins to make an up way movement or even to have sky rocket prices. ( also alter coins is not the correct naming so please make some researches before make a thread or post about ALTCOINS )

Some analysts say that altcoins will pump because they suffered a much greater price hit than Bitcoin so they are even more undervalued now but maybe they were more overvalued in the first place?
