So is there a way to quickly know what is going? How many alternative cryptocurrencies exist, what is the development status, active users/miners, etc. I am lost between the fake announcements and the dead currencies.

I think the reason why this forum has devolved into insults and jokes is because that's what most of the alternate chains are. Attempts to make money off of others.

While my alternative is only at the proposal status, it is designed with a wholly different system in mind, one whose primary goal is not to enrich the early adopters, but to run an efficient cryptocurrency that could compete with fiat.

Well I'm glad there's a "weekly digest" that didn't waste my time with no "weekly digest" when I read it.............

Yeah i know man, this forum is getting worse all the time. I suggest following the bitcoin feeds on twitter and check out the news section on stuffexists.com. Unfortunately no one easy way to do it, at least not as far as i know.

Sometimes I come here to read news about alternate cryptocurrencies, but I always leave without any idea of what is going on. Half of the threads are jokes about a forum member or about a cryptocurrency, the other half is filled with flames and personal insults.

So is there a way to quickly know what is going? How many alternative cryptocurrencies exist, what is the development status, active users/miners, etc. I am lost between the fake announcements and the dead currencies.
