Not much you can do with that laptop, if you really really want to mine altcoins, then get a good PC (rig) with 2 or three decent graphic cards, ATI cards are more well known to mine altcoins via their GPU, this will not guarantee you instant profit, but over time if price of Ether goes up as its the most mined altcoin at the moment, you can make some really decent profit. Articles of setting up a good mining rig for altcoins via GPU can be found a lot via google, you have just to search for them.

This video is a small tutorial to get you started, however with that laptop you cannot mine, you need at least a PC of the 1200 and above USD with 2 or 3 graphic cards.

hey guys, I just wanna if is there any altcoin I can mine on my laptop, it's an acer aspire e1-571, x64, with intel core i5, 6gb RAM and a intel graphics 4000 (i feel humiliated) and make some money from it (about $400/month)

Ps.: I'm Brazilian, so plz, rate my english

Never use a laptop for mining, especially for mining bitcoin today. You will only damage the laptop. I recommend buy some vga and mining eth alone. Thank you

you can visit coinwarz.com and read about altcoin mining there, they have a good mining calculator that helps you decide if mining with your equipment is profitable at all.

basically you have to find how much hashrate you can get from your equipment and then find the best altcoin which you can mine with your system.

but you have to always keep the costs in mind too. costs like your electric bill.

Buy some GPUs and start mining as for mining any coin every day counts, so better to start it right a way but before you do that take a look
At your power bill and see the KW/H price and do the math first by checking the GPU power consumption and the amount you could mine
I don't exactly know how could there be so many coins and any one mining them if only 3 or 4 of them are actually profitable.

Don't use your laptop as your mining device because it can damaged your laptop like mining coins will result for your laptop to overheat. Also, it's hard for that specs to get that minimum of $400 per month. I suggest you to just buy mining rigs out there because i think that they are profitable and a lot safer than risking your laptop because they are designed for that job.

Laptops just were not made for the intensity many miners use.  It creates heat which the laptop was not designed for long term to deal with.   In your case it will cost more to run it then you will make.... so it does not make sense financially or hurting your laptop.

Cpu mining is sadly just not worth it anymore.  The only altcoin mining worth it is GPU mining and it really is all Ether currently. But it takes a decent graphics card the intel you mentioned will not cut it.  Also people who do it in most cases use desktops that are open air, basically cards sit up in air for better cooling.   It makes the cards life easier with less heat, and is very good in the long run.

So you would have to invest going into altcoins.  Even then you would need a decent amount to do 400 each month. Even though crypto currencies are digital they still hold value, and are not get rich quick schemes.

Too risky, first you will damage your laptop(sooner or later). And altcoin price is easy to dump, easy to manipulate. Like doublerhunter said, better buy mining rig.

There si no mining you can do with this unit which will profit you $400 per month.  You have to take into consideration that there are electric fees and such.  Good luck with this and if you find something, please post it here.

There's not much you can do with that.

To get numbers close to 400$ a month, you would need a major and specialized investment.
It's already pretty risky to invest in Bitcoin mining, even riskier to look at alt coins.

It is always possible to mine altcoins using your laptop. But it won't be worth it unless you want your laptop to burn. Laptops are generally more expensive than a dedicated mining rig of the same specification so it can be very unprofitable too. I certainly don't think you'll be able to get $400 a month using that laptop.
